VEHICLE DOOR ASSEMBLY

A vehicle door assembly includes an outer panel and an inner panel. The outer panel has an inboard surface and an outboard surface. A door handle receiving area is disposed in the outer door panel and is configured to receive a door handle. The inner panel has an inboard surface and an outboard surface. The inner panel is connected to the outer panel. A first stiffener member is disposed beneath the door handle receiving area. A second stiffener member is disposed above the door handle receiving area.

VEHICLE

A vehicle includes a vehicle body having a door opening, and a door that is attached to the vehicle body and that has a door reinforcing member extending straddling the door opening. The vehicle body includes: a rocker extending following a lower end of the door opening; a floor panel extending from an upper face of the rocker to a vehicle inward side; a first reinforcing member fixed to an upper face of the floor panel and extends in a vehicle front-rear direction following an end portion of the floor panel, an outward end portion of the first reinforcing member being disposed above the rocker, and an inward end portion of the first reinforcing member being disposed inward of the rocker; and a second reinforcing member that is fixed to an upper face of the first reinforcing member and that extends in a vehicle width direction.

DOOR IMPACT BEAM

A door impact beam includes a top plate, a recessed bead, and walls. The top plate faces an outer panel that constitutes a door of the vehicle and extends in the front-rear direction of the vehicle. The recessed bead is disposed on the top plate and has a U shape toward an inner panel that constitutes the door of the vehicle. The walls protrude toward the inner panel from both ends of the top plate in a width direction of the top plate. The door impact beam is formed by press-molding a sheet-metal composite. The sheet-metal composite includes a sheet-metal main body and a reinforcing sheet metal overlapping with a part of the sheet-metal main body in a longitudinal direction. The door impact beam extends in a front-rear direction of the vehicle in an internal space formed by the outer panel and the inner panel.

Automotive door impact protection beam catch tab

Disclosed is a retention system for an automotive door impact protection beam. The system comprises a bracket coupled to a door panel of a vehicle, the bracket comprising an aperture, and an impact protection beam coupled to the bracket and positioned adjacent to the door panel of the vehicle. The system further comprises a longitudinal primary face that includes a longitudinally extending mast comprising a stiffening bead and a hook end, wherein the mast extends through the aperture of the bracket, a first coupling shoulder coupled to the door panel, a shelf projecting laterally from a top edge of the primary face, a longitudinal secondary face projecting from an edge of the shelf; and a second coupling shoulder coupled to the door panel. The shelf includes an opening that is longer and wider than the mast.

Vehicle body structure

A vehicle body structure includes a reinforcement member, a latch mechanism and a secondary reinforcement portion. The reinforcement member is installed to an inner door panel of a door structure and extends from a forward area of the door structure to a rearward area of the door structure. The latch mechanism is installed to the rearward area of the inner door panel and is positioned such that a section of a rearward portion of the reinforcement member is outboard and level with a portion of the latch mechanism. The secondary reinforcement portion is fixedly attached to a central area of the reinforcement member spaced apart from a forward area of the inner door panel. In response to an impact event where force is directed to a central area of the door structure, the reinforcement member deforms and contacts the latch mechanism retaining the latch mechanism in the latching orientation.

CONVERTIBLE SKELETON DOOR

A vehicle door assembly includes a door housing configured for covering a vehicle access opening. A frame member is disposed within the door housing.
