A vehicle door includes a lower part and an upper part designed as a window frame. The upper part includes several frame elements, which are joined together by spraying plastic onto the frame elements.

VEHICLE SIDE DOOR BOLSTER

A vehicle side door assembly includes a first beam, a second beam, and a bolster spanning from the first beam to the second beam. The bolster can be nylon. The bolster can include a grid of ribs that establish an array of pockets on an outboard side of the bolster, and a grid of ribs that establish another array of pockets on an inboard side of the bolster.

Vehicle door frame

A vertically extending upright pillar sash of a vehicle door frame is formed by combining a first member which includes a glass run channel, for holding a glass run, on an inner peripheral side of the door frame, and a second member which includes a portion projecting toward a vehicle interior with respect to the glass run channel. The first member and the second member each includes facing portions that are spaced from each other and face each other in a direction connecting the inner peripheral side and an outer peripheral side of the door frame, and fixing portions that are provided at the upper part of the upright pillar sash by overlaying the facing portions on each other and fixing the facing portions to each other in the direction connecting the inner peripheral side and the outer peripheral side of the door frame.

VEHICLE SIDE DOOR STRUCTURE

A vehicle side door structure that includes: a side door body portion configured to open and close a side door opening, the side door body portion including a door inner panel and a door outer panel; and a sensor placed inside the side door body portion, the sensor including a detection component configured to face outward in the vehicle width direction and to detect information in the side direction of the vehicle by using a detection medium, wherein a transmissive portion is disposed on the vehicle width direction outside of the detection component, the transmissive portion configuring part of the door outer panel and being configured by a material that allows the detection medium to be transmitted through the material.

DRIVING DEVICE FOR VERTICALLY MOVABLE WAIST BAR OF VEHICLE
20170101043 · 2017-04-13 ·

A driving device for a vertically movable waist bar of a vehicle is provided. The driving device enables the waist bar to be moved vertically in conjunction with the door glass to ensure the driver's vision by eliminating an invisible area created by the waist bar, and also to increase available indoor space. The driving device includes a transfer unit that is coupled to the waist bar mounted at a vehicle door and configured to be movable vertically, and a power transmission unit that is connected at a first side thereof to the transfer unit and at a second side thereof to a drive unit to transmit power generated from the drive unit to the transfer unit. Additionally, the waist bar is moved vertically in response to the vertical movement of the transfer unit.

Hybrid multi-material outerbelt reinforcement

A hybrid multi-material outerbelt reinforcement assembly includes a metal body having a first leg and a second leg oriented at an angle with respect to the first leg. The second leg is integrally connected to the first leg defining a junction. A polymeric material reinforcing rib has a rib end contacting the junction and has a rib body extending away from the junction and bisecting the angle between the first leg and the second leg. The reinforcing rib has a rib length extending for substantially an entire length of the metal body. Flanges are integrally connected to the reinforcing rib, each having a first flange portion and a second flange portion each contacting the metal body to mitigate against a torsional rotation of the metal body that increases or decreases the angle of the second leg with respect to the first leg.

METHOD FOR LASER-WELDING METAL PLATE LAMINATES AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING VEHICLE DOOR FRAME USING THE SAME
20170080525 · 2017-03-23 · ·

A method for laser-welding metal plate laminates that is a laser welding method for laminating and bonding at least two metal plates, the method includes providing a protruding portion to one of the two metal plates; and causing the protruding portion to contact the other metal plate, and irradiating the protruding portion with laser beam so as to melt the protruding portion while applying force between the two metal plates to apply pressure to a contact portion of the protruding portion and the other metal plate.

VEHICLE DOOR STRUCTURE

A vehicle door structure includes: a metal door outer panel that includes an outermost design surface of a vehicle door; a metal annular reinforcement that (i) is provided at a door inner side of the door outer panel, (ii) has an annular shape so as to extend along an outer peripheral portion of the door outer panel, and (iii) is joined to the outer peripheral portion of the door outer panel; at least one reinforcing member that extends in a door longitudinal direction and that is joined to the annular reinforcement; and a fiber-reinforced door inner panel that is provided at a door inner side of the annular reinforcement, and is fastened to the annular reinforcement.

Automotive side door structure

A door structure system for a vehicle includes an inner panel, an outer panel, and an outer belt reinforcement member. The outer belt reinforcement member extends in a fore-and-aft direction of the door structure. The outer belt reinforcement member creates an overlap joint with a hem flange portion of the inner panel. The outer belt reinforcement member includes touch-down feature that extends toward the inner panel and into contact with a bearing surface of the inner panel that is stepped down relative to the hem flange portion. The overlap joint and the touch-down feature both contribute to an increased upper frame stiffness of the door structure and improve sealing performance between the door structure and the vehicle body structure.

Door mirror structure

A door mirror structure comprises a door-mirror body portion, a mirror base having a tip-end portion fixed to the door-mirror body portion, and a drive unit to rotate the door-mirror body portion and the mirror base between a mirror-use position and a mirror-storage position. The drive unit is provided at the side door. The housing of the door-mirror body portion has a shape such that the door-mirror body portion taking the mirror-use position is not positioned in an area between a first imaginary line which connects a middle point between both eyes of a driver and an inner-end portion, in a vehicle width direction, of a rear face of the door-mirror body portion and a second imaginary line which connects the above-described middle point and a front end portion of a door glass.
