DOOR ASSEMBLY WITH COLLAPSIBLE CARRIER AND WATER SHIELD
A door assembly for a motor vehicle comprised of an outer door panel and an inner door panel interconnected to define a door panel structure having an internal door cavity. A collapsible carrier module is configured to be oriented in a collapsed arrangement to facilitate installation into the door cavity through an opening in the inner door panel. The collapsible carrier module can be moved from its collapsed arrangement into an expanded arrangement upon installation within the door cavity to facilitate subsequent mounting to the door panel structure. The collapsible carrier module includes a barrier configured to close off the opening in the inner panel.
DOOR STRUCTURE OF AUTOMOTIVE VEHICLE
Vertical frame portions provided at both side portions of a door frame are a light-metal casting, plural connecting frames, which are a light-meal hollow extrusion molding, connect the vertical frame portions, the vertical frame portions are provided with protrusion portions which engage with inward connecting frames in a longitudinal direction, plural attachment portions which attach the outward connecting frames and the vertical frame portion are provided at different points in the longitudinal direction, and an outward connecting frame is provided with an upper rib which engages with an engagement recess portion provided at an upper portion of a door outer panel formed in a non-planar shape.
SIDE DOOR STRUCTURE OF VEHICLE
There are provided an outer member, an inner member including a front-side vertical wall portion and a rear-side vertical wall portion, an impact bar extending from front-side attachment portions of the front-side vertical wall portion to rear-side attachment portions of the rear-side vertical wall portion, a hinge-reinforcement member reinforcing a hinge attachment portion where a hinge is attached to the front-side vertical wall portion, and a latch-reinforcement member reinforcing a latch-attachment portion where a latch device is attached to the rear-side vertical wall portion. The front-side vertical wall portion and the rear-side vertical wall portion are made of casting or high-strength resin, and the hinge-reinforcement member and the latch-reinforcement member are configured to have higher ductility than the front-side vertical wall portion and the rear-side vertical wall portion and connected to the impact bar.
Vehicle door structure
A vehicle door structure includes: a door having a door body defining a closed section with a door inner panel and a door outer panel; an engaging member configured to hold the door in a closed and stopped state by engaging with an engaged member; and a load transmitting member configured to, when a load in a direction perpendicular to a design surface on a vehicle cabin outer side of the door outer panel is input, transmit the load toward a base end side of the engaging member and apply a load to the base end side of the engaging member in an engagement direction of the engaging member with the engaged member.
Horizontal reinforcement for a motor vehicle door
The invention relates to a door (3) of a motor vehicle (1), having an outer wall and a lining (7) forming a casing (9), said casing (9) comprising: a main side reinforcement (17) extending longitudinally between a front edge (9A) and a rear edge (9C) of said casing (9); an upper reinforcement (15) extending longitudinally along an upper edge (9B) of said casing (9); an exterior opening control support (11) of the door (3), which is fixed to the upper reinforcement (15); the casing (9) further comprising: an auxiliary side reinforcement (21) which extends above the main side reinforcement (17) longitudinally between the front edge (9A) and the rear edge (9C) of the casing (9) and is fixed to the control support for the exterior opening (11) of the door (3).
VEHICLE DOOR ASSEMBLY
A vehicle door assembly includes an inner door panel that defines a door cavity, a latch mechanism and a reinforcing bracket. The latch mechanism has a latch lever that moves when the latch mechanism is operated to release the vehicle door from a closed orientation. The reinforcing bracket has a first end and a second end. The first end is attached to a forward area of the inner door panel. The second end has an attachment portion, a lever capture portion and a tab portion. The attachment portion is attached to a rearward area of the inner door panel. The lever capture portion is outboard from the latch lever. The tab portion is adjacent to the lever capture portion. The reinforcing bracket is shaped and configured to deform in response to an impact event moving the lever capture portion inboard toward the latch lever interfering with movement thereof.
Vehicle door assembly
A vehicle door assembly includes an inner door panel, a pillar panel and a first cushioning pad. The inner door panel has an attachment area, a first edge portion and a second edge portion, with the first edge portion defining hinge attachment locations. The pillar panel is fixedly attached to at least the second edge portion and the attachment area such that the inner door panel and the pillar panel define a hollow B-pillar structure. The pillar panel further includes an offset portion that is spaced apart from a central portion of the attachment area of the inner door panel such that the attachment area and the offset portion define a recessed area therebetween. The first cushioning pad has a main body installed within the recessed area between the offset portion of the pillar panel and the inner door panel.
