METHODS, APPARATUS AND SYSTEMS FOR SECURING AN INFANT CAR SEAT TO A VEHICLE SEAT WITH A TIGHT FIT AND WITHOUT USING A DETACHABLE VEHICLE INSTALLATION BASE OR A VEHICLE SEAT BELT, AND RIDE-HAILING METHODS RELATING TO SAME
An infant car seat system includes an infant car seat with an integrated anchor system to conveniently secure the infant car seat to a vehicle seat, without using a detachable vehicle installation base and without using a vehicle seat belt. The anchor system is coupled to the infant car seat at one or more mechanical constraining points positioned based on the center of gravity of the infant car seat and respective anchor points at which the anchor system engages with vehicle lower anchors. The anchor system may be a rigid anchor system or a belted anchor system, and the system may include one or more of a release actuator for a quick disconnect mechanism, an adjustment foot to accommodate different vehicle seats and ensure a tight fit, and/or one or more storage compartments to store parts of the anchor system when unused. Such features render the infant car seat system particularly useful for ride-hailing and ridesharing services.
Support base for a child safety seat
A support base for a child safety seat includes a shell, a belt clamp and a latching mechanism. The shell is adapted to receive a child seat thereon, and has a belt anchoring region including a first surface and a second surface. The belt clamp is pivotally connected with the shell, and is operable to clamp a first belt portion and a second belt portion respectively adjacent to the first surface and the second surface. The latching mechanism is operable to lock the belt clamp in a clamping state.

A vehicle seat assembly includes a panel defined as a portion of a vehicle seat, the panel defines a first aperture therethrough to access an anchor and a second aperture therethrough, and has an engagement region thereon adjacent to the second aperture, a trim cover assembly including a trim cover, a strap connecting the trim cover to the vehicle seat, a seat frame and/or a vehicle framework via the second aperture, and a holder member. The holder member is sized to retract into and emerge from the second aperture, and has an edge configured to engage the engagement region. The trim cover assembly has a first position covering the first aperture to visibly hide the anchor, and a second position with the trim cover assembly spaced apart from the aperture to provide access to the anchor, where the edge of the holder member is engaged with the engagement region.

A child safety seat includes a seat base assembly, a seat body assembly, and a sled assembly coupled to the seat base assembly and the seat body assembly. The sled assembly is configured to allow linear movement of the seat body assembly relative to the seat base assembly when the seat is exposed to impact forces, and includes a modular energy absorber configured to reduce the impact forces on an occupant of the seat body assembly.

The invention relates to a fastening fixture for a motor vehicle, comprising a sheet metal part (7) on the car body and a U-shaped bracket (1) attached thereto that has a crossbar (2) with adjoining U-shaped legs (3) from the ends of which foot sections (5) extend at an angle and engage underneath the sheet metal part (7) on the car body and are especially welded to it. According to the invention, the sheet metal part (7) has cutouts (8) that are separate from each other and spaced at the same distance as the two U-shaped legs (3) of the bracket (1), and the foot sections (5) of the U-shaped legs (3) pass through said cutouts (8).

The invention describes various solutions to make use of the lateral space of the rear seats in a vehicle. A first embodiment comprises a side module with: a first main body (6), in a longitudinal direction; first fixing means (7) solidly joined to the first main body (6), so as to fix it to vehicle rings (4) fixed to the vehicle; and a first adapter (11), which in turn comprises: a first adapter body (12), oriented in the longitudinal direction, and linked to the first main body (6), relative to which it is longitudinally movable; second fixing means (13), solidly joined to the first adapter body (12), for being fixed to object anchors (9) mounted on the object; and first regulation means (14) for enabling a selective fixation of the first adapter body (12) in a desired position relative to the first main body (6) in the longitudinal direction.
SEATING SYSTEM FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
A seating system for a motor vehicle provides for a seat and a child safety seat defined by a body, which forms part of a seat cushion of the seat. The system has a releasable fastening apparatus of the ISOFIX type comprising two lower anchoring elements and two upper anchoring elements which can be selectively engaged by connecting elements carried by the body for securing the latter to the seat in a lowered position and a raised position, respectively.
Child seat monitoring system and method
Embodiments include a vehicle comprising a user interface, a first sensor coupled to a child seat for detecting a child seat belt status; a gear selector for selecting a vehicle gear, and a processor communicatively coupled to the first sensor and the gear selector, and configured to cause the user interface to present a first notification if a first alarm condition is detected based on the child seat belt status and a selected gear. Embodiments also include a method of providing child seat monitoring in a vehicle, the method comprising receiving a gear position from a vehicle gear selector, receiving a child seat belt status from a first sensor coupled to a vehicle child seat, and presenting a first notification using a vehicle user interface if the gear position is a non-park position and the child seat belt status is unbuckled.

Disclosed is a vehicle seat that includes a seat cushion and a seat back between which an arm provided at a rear side of a child seat is insertable to thereby allow the child seat to be attached to the vehicle seat. The seat cushion includes a seat cushion pad and an outer covering with which the seat cushion pad is covered, wherein the seat cushion pad has a recess for the arm to be inserted therein, the recess being provided at a rear region of an upper surface thereof. The outer covering is configured to extend along a surface of the recess such that the recess is entirely coated therewith.
