An occupant protection apparatus includes a driver. The driver includes a drive unit, a support shaft, a movable seat pan supported by the support shaft such that the movable seat pan is inclinable in a front-rear direction, a guide groove, a movement pin that is movable along the guide groove, a link that couples the movable seat pan to the movement pin, and an energy absorber. The guide groove includes a first guide groove portion in which the movement pin moves when the movable seat pan is inclined rearward and a second guide groove portion in which the movement pin moves when the movable seat pan is inclined forward. The energy absorber is configured to absorb at least part of a forward load from an occupant when the movement pin moves in the second guide groove portion.

A shock absorber is provided to absorb an impact load in a vehicle. The shock absorber includes a base disposed on a frame of a vehicle. The base has a first part and a second part. The shock absorber further includes a bracket coupled to the base. The bracket includes a first portion with a flat surface and a second portion with an arcuate surface. The first portion is coupled to the first part of the base, and the second portion is coupled to the second part of the base. The shock absorber further includes a cover to enclose the bracket. The cover receives an impact load and transmit the received impact load to at least one of: the first portion or the second portion of the bracket.

A vehicle seat includes a seat cushion including a cover, a frame and a pad, a plurality of parts of the cover being restrained to the frame and the pad; a cushion airbag device mounted in a front portion in the seat cushion and configured to inflate and deploy an airbag at a time of a frontal collision of a vehicle; and a restraint release part provided in a part of the cover positioned at at least one side in a seat front-rear direction with respect to the cushion airbag device among the plurality of parts of the cover. The restraint release part is configured to release the restraint of the part of the cover with an inflation pressure of the airbag.

The occupant protecting system comprises a seat assembly, a sensor unit, an actuator unit and a control unit. The sensor unit is configured to generate crash monitoring data of the vehicle. The control unit is configured to determine a crash type based on the crash monitoring data in case of a collision of the vehicle. The actuator unit comprises a pyrotechnic element. The actuator unit is arranged at the seat assembly and capable to adjust a position of the seat assembly. The control unit is configured to cause the actuator unit based on the crash type.

One aspect of the present disclosure is a vehicle seat including a lower arm and a recliner. The lower arm includes an arm body to which the recliner is attached, a first fixing portion to be attached to the vehicle in a lower position, and a second fixing portion attached to the vehicle in a rear position. The arm body includes a first recess arranged between the recliner and the first fixing portion in an up-down direction, the first recess extending from an edge of the arm body, and a second recess arranged between the recliner and the second fixing portion in a front-rear direction, the second recess extending from the edge of the arm body.

The disclosure provides for a system that includes a seat mounted in a vehicle. The seat includes a base, a back support, a hinge, and a seat belt integrated into the seat. The back support is capable of rotating relative to the base and thereby reclining. The hinge is between the base and the back support and is configured to lock the back support in positions in relation to the base. The seat belt has a shoulder portion and a lap portion and is attached to the seat at a shoulder anchor in the back support and a base anchor in the base. When a generated torque, created from a forward force applied by the shoulder portion of the seat belt, exceeds a threshold amount of torque, the hinge is configured to unlock and back support is configured to rotate forward from a reclined position towards an upright position.

VEHICLE SEAT AND VEHICLE SEAT FRAME

A vehicle seat frame includes a seat cushion frame, left and right links, a connection member, left and right slide rails, and left and right risers. The seat cushion frame includes left and right side frames. The left and right links each have a one end portion connected to respective front portions of the left and right side frames. The connection member connects the left and right links together in the seat left-right direction. The left and right slide rails are disposed below the left and right side frames and are attached to a floor section of the vehicle. The left and right risers are respectively attached to the left and right slide rails, are connected to respective other end portions of the left and right links, and are configured to be impacted by the connection member under load from the occupant during a head-on collision of the vehicle.

A seat cushion frame configuring a framework of a seat cushion for an occupant of a vehicle to sit on and including left and right side frames and a cushion pan. The left and right side frames are disposed at left and right side portions of the seat cushion.
