Apparatus and method for vehicle occupant protection in large animal collisions
An apparatus and method are disclosed for vehicle occupant protection in large animal collisions. Objects forward of the host vehicle are monitored using at least one forward looking remote sensor and object signals output. A velocity of the host vehicle is determined and velocity signals output. The object signals and the velocity signals are processed to determine whether the host vehicle unavoidably will suffer a collision with a large animal while traveling at or above a threshold velocity and a collision signal is output. Operation of a motor operated height adjustment device, an inclination adjustment device and/or a longitudinal position adjustment device of a vehicle seat is triggered to move a seat cushion and a backrest thereof away from a leading edge of a roof of the host vehicle in response to the collision signal.
APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REPOSITIONING OCCUPANT IN A CRASH EVENT
An airbag system for repositioning a seat occupant in a moving vehicle during a crash event includes: a first inflatable airbag disposed proximate to a front portion of a seat pan; a second inflatable airbag disposed proximate to a rear portion of the seat pan; and inflation control device controlling deployment of the first and second inflatable airbags. The inflation control device includes a programmable controller controlling inflation parameters of the first and second inflatable airbags to achieve a desired lift, subject to monument constraints.
A TABLE FOR MEANS OF TRANSPORT
The present invention relates to a table for a means of public transport, which installs a shock energy absorption system.
Vehicle Seat
A vehicle seat has a lower seat part and a seat backrest. The seat backrest has a backrest structure, a central backrest section which has at least one backrest cushion and a backrest cover, and a left and a right backrest side wall. The seat backrest is provided with at least one expansion element which has at least one cavity that is enclosed by a membrane and can be filled with an expansion fluid from a fluid source. At least one respective fillable cavity of the at least one expansion element is integrated into the backrest cushion of the central backrest section or is provided between the backrest structure and the backrest cushion of the central backrest section to the left and the right of the backrest longitudinal central plane at a lateral distance thereto.
VEHICLE SEAT COMPRISING A SAFETY DEVICE
A vehicle seat having at least one buckle for receiving a safety belt on a first lateral side of the seat and an attachment of the end of a pelvic strap of the safety belt on a second lateral side of the seat. The seat includes at least one safety device, each safety device having a first cable connecting the buckle or the attachment of the end of the pelvic strap to a first anchor point, and at least one second cable connecting the buckle or the attachment of the end of the pelvic strap to a second anchor point traction on the second cable resulting in a general movement of the buckle or attachment of the pelvic strap end eliminating the risk of submarining.
Rear-facing occupant protection device
A rear-facing occupant protection device is provided. The rear-facing occupant protection device is applied to a vehicle in which a seatback of a front seat is mounted in a rear-facing state in which a back surface of the seatback faces a vehicle-body-side vertical wall portion disposed at a front end of a vehicle cabin, or mounted such that the seat back is capable of taking the rear-facing state. The rear-facing occupant protection device includes: an energy absorbing portion disposed on at least one of a back surface of a seatback pad of the seatback and a rear surface of the vehicle-body-side vertical wall portion, the energy absorbing portion being configured to be deformed so as to absorb energy at a time of a frontal collision of the vehicle.
POSITION-VARIABLE SEAT BACK HINGE STIFFNESS FOR BELT-INTEGRATION SEATS
The disclosure provides for a system that includes a seat mounted in a vehicle. The seat includes a base, a back support, a hinge, and a seat belt integrated into the seat. The back support is capable of rotating relative to the base and thereby reclining. The hinge is between the base and the back support and is configured to lock the back support in positions in relation to the base. The seat belt has a shoulder portion and a lap portion and is attached to the seat at a shoulder anchor in the back support and a base anchor in the base. When a generated torque, created from a forward force applied by the shoulder portion of the seat belt, exceeds a threshold amount of torque, the hinge is configured to unlock and back support is configured to rotate forward from a reclined position towards an upright position.
Vehicle seat arrangement
A vehicle seat arrangement has a vehicle seat for attaching to a vehicle structure of a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, with a lower seat part having a seat structure and with a seat back. The lower seat part is mounted or can be mounted in a longitudinally displaceable manner on the vehicle structure by a seat console, wherein at least the seat back is adjustable from a sitting position into a resting or lying position, and wherein between the lower seat part and the vehicle structure an energy absorption device is provided. In the event of a collision of the vehicle with an obstacle, the energy absorption device permits a braked relative movement along a braking path between the vehicle seat, which persists in a forwards movement due to inertia, and the vehicle structure, which is braked due to the collision. In the normal state, the vehicle seat is locked relative to the vehicle structure by a locking device and the locking is released in the event of a collision. The locking device is designed such that the locking is released and the longitudinal displaceability of the vehicle seat is enabled before the mass-induced forces of inertia of the body of a person lying on the vehicle seat are completely supported on the seat structure of the lower seat part, and therefore the body only enters into force-transmitting contact with the seat structure when the vehicle seat is already moving forwards relative to the vehicle structure.
DEPLOYABLE PLATE FOR REARWARD-FACING SEAT
An assembly of a dash for a vehicle includes a first plate and a second plate movable along an axis away from the first plate. The second plate moves from an undeployed position to a deployed position. The assembly includes spring between the first plate and the second plate that biases the second plate toward the deployed position. The assembly includes a post extending along the axis from the second plate through the first plate. The assembly includes a pin releasably engaging the post with the first plate in the undeployed position. The assembly includes a release supported by the first plate and connected to the pin. The pin is disengageable from the post transverse to the axis by the release.
System for the inertial unlocking of a seat back
The invention mainly relates to a system for the inertial unlocking of a seat back, in particular of an aircraft seat, characterized in that it comprises: a structural element of the seat back, called a connecting rod, a support piece for the fixation to a structural element of said seat, the support piece comprising a flyweight movable in translation between: a locking position in which the flyweight faces a lip of the connecting rod so as to prevent the connecting rod from rotating relative to the support piece about the axis of rotation, and an unlocking position in which the flyweight is released from the lip of the connecting rod so as to allow the connecting rod to rotate relative to the support piece about the axis of rotation, the passage of the flyweight from the locking position to the unlocking position being able to be carried out under the action of a deceleration by the seat.
