VEHICLE SEAT
A seat back pad 70 has a groove 73 for tucking a skin material therein, formed at borders between a central portion 71 and side portions 72. A hole (slot hole 74) is formed in a bottom of the groove 73 along the groove 73. A tuck-in wire 76 for tucking the skin material in includes a plurality of tuck-in portions 76A provided along the groove 73, and a connecting portion (detour portion 76B) detouring around the hole and connecting the tuck-in portions 76A. With this configuration, when an upper body of an occupant P subsides into a seat back S2 in a rear-end collision of a vehicle, the central portion 71, defined by the groove 73 as a border, is easily and sufficiently moved rearward relative to the left and right side portions 72. Furthermore, the tuck-in wire 76 is not exposed through the hole, and thus adhesion between the seat back pad 70 and the tuck-in wire 76 can be improved.
Vehicle seat
A seating posture is stabilized for the shoulders of a passenger seated on a vehicle seat. A vehicle seat is provided with a seat back configured to support the seated person from the rear. A shoulder support portion of the seat back configured to support a corresponding one of the shoulders of the seated passenger includes an air cell configured to expand when air is supplied. When the air cell expands, one end portion of the shoulder support portion on the outside in the width direction of the vehicle seat moves more forward than the other end portion of the shoulder support portion on the inside in the width direction.
System and method for positioning a vehicle seat
A system and method for positioning a seat arrangement in a vehicle includes moving the seat arrangement forward by a first amount when a certain criteria are met. The criteria may include at least one criterion related to occupancy of a seat directly behind the seat arrangement and at least one criterion related to a likelihood of an impact into the vehicle from behind the seat arrangement. The method may also include not moving the seat arrangement forward by the first amount when at least one of the criteria is not met.
Cushion pan for a vehicle seat assembly
A cushion pan for a vehicle seating assembly includes a body portion having at least one pocket including a module retention aperture disposed therein. First and second suspension assembly retainers are disposed in the body portion. A peripheral flange extends substantially orthogonal to the planar extent of the body portion and includes a plurality of trim tabs. A plurality of support ribs extend through a midportion of the body portion.
Kinematic back panel
A seating assembly for a vehicle includes a seat having a seat cushion assembly. A seatback is pivotally coupled with the seat and includes a seatback cushion assembly. A polymeric hard back panel is operably coupled with the seatback and includes a recessed portion. A controlled deformation portion includes a rupture line configured to split during a rear impact collision of the vehicle, resulting in flaps of the controlled deformation portion extending rearward relative to the seatback. The controlled deformation portion is generally concealed from rearward view by a pocket wall.
Vehicle seat with cushion plate
A method of assembling a vehicle seat is provided, comprising: providing a seat back frame; forwardly movably connecting a headrest for supporting a head of a seat occupant to the seat back frame; mounting a rear-end collision detector to the seat back frame at a position behind the seat occupant, operatively connecting the rear-end collision detector to the headrest; disposing a link member at a position lateral to the rear-end collision detector; forming a front extending portion that inwardly extends in a right-to-left direction at a front end of a lateral face of the side frame; and forming a rear extending portion that inwardly extends in the right-to-left direction; wherein a protruding portion is formed from a portion of the lateral face of the side frame that faces at least the part of the bracket, the link support shaft being disposed at a same height as the protruding portion.
Vehicle seat
A vehicle seat includes a seat back frame having a pair of side frames; a back panel main body constituted of resin and having a main wall and projections, the projections projecting away from the main wall to a seat width direction outer side; and back panel supports constituted of a resiliently deformable metal material and that each includes an attachment plate portion and a joining plate portion. The attachment plate portion is disposed along and is attached to a side wall portion of one of the pair of side frames, and the joining plate portion projects from an edge of the attachment plate portion toward the projection and is integrally joined to the projection.
ACTIVE SEAT BOLSTER ADJUSTMENT BASED ON OCCUPANT PRESSURE MAP AND METHOD
A seat assembly includes one or more adjustable components disposed in a seat portion or a seatback of the seat assembly and are actively operable between stowed and deployed positions based on real-time occupant position information. A controller is operably coupled to the adjustable components and configured to adjust the adjustable components towards the deployed position when a pressure force is detected by one or more sensors disposed in either the seat portion or the seatback, or both. The pressure forces are applied by the vehicle occupant as the vehicle occupant applies pressure to portions of the vehicle seat during movement of the vehicle. The adjustable components are moveable to a degree that is calculated as a function of the pressure value sensed by the sensors in the seat assembly.
ACTIVE SEAT BOLSTER ADJUSTMENT BASED ON OCCUPANT PRESSURE MAP AND METHOD
A seat assembly includes one or more adjustable components disposed in a seat portion or a seatback of the seat assembly. The adjustable components are operable between stowed and deployed positions. A controller is operably coupled to the adjustable components and configured to adjust the adjustable components towards the deployed position when a seat occupant is seated in the seat assembly. The controller moves one or more of the adjustable components towards the deployed position until a pressure force is detected by one or more sensors disposed in either the seat portion or the seatback, or both. The pressure forces are detected by the sensors as one or more of the adjustable components contacts a vehicle occupant. Movement of the adjustable components may cease immediately when a pressure value is detected and may also continue until a threshold pressure value is reached.
Seat Assembly Having a Pivot Restraint Mechanism that Limits Seat Back Movement
A seat assembly having a seat bottom, a seat back, and at least one belt. The belt may have a first end that may be coupled to a seat bottom frame and a second end that may be coupled to a seat back frame. The belt may limit pivotal movement of the seat back away from the seat bottom.
