Seat cushion pan assembly
A vehicle seating assembly having a seat back including a polymeric body portion defining a support frame having a plurality of forwardly extending connection pins disposed about a periphery of a forward surface of the support frame. A flexible comfort carrier is disposed over a front surface of the polymeric body portion and includes a multitude of openings defining a support matrix configured to support the weight of a passenger. The body portion includes a plurality of slots configured to receive and engage the plurality of forwardly extending connection pins. A cushion layer extends over the flexible comfort carrier. A head restraint extends upwardly from the forward support frame.
Preventive self-adjusting structure vehicle seat designed restraint
An apparatus or front row vehicle seat having portions A, B, C and D. The apparatus is adjustable by an occupant in its normal motionless position. When a vehicle electronic control unit senses a hazardous traffic situation, it causes activation of a seat actuator. In response, each of seat portions A, B, C, and D is simultaneously altered, without an occupants' action, to a new deployed position. The new deployed positions of the seat portions A, B, C, and D inhibit occupant ejection from a vehicle. The portions A, B and D of the apparatus are supported by front and rear stationary pillars and a middle movable pillar. The pillars project from a related unit seat height adjuster. The interaction of the rear stationary pillars with the portion D helps keep various seat components in the same orientation and position with respect to each other before and after deployment.
VEHICLE SEAT WITH LOAD SENSOR
A vehicle seat includes a load sensor for measuring a load applied from an occupant and a seat cushion frame, wherein the seat cushion frame comprises right and left side frames extending in a front-and-rear direction, the load sensor is attached to the seat cushion frame, and a concave portion is formed in at least one of the right and left side frames at a position opposite to the load sensor.
Cushion pad
[Problem] To provide a cushion pad that allows reducing the oppressive feeling in a thigh and the sinking of buttocks and improving the texture and the fit feeling. [Solution] In a portion positioned underneath a hip point of a seated person, an under-buttock portion is set to have a smaller force S.sub.25 during compression to 25% in a second portion including a seating surface than S.sub.25 of the first portion positioned on a bottom surface side. The thigh supporting portion is set to have smaller S.sub.25 of a portion including the seating surface than S.sub.25 of the first portion. This allows reducing the oppressive feeling in the thigh and the sinking of the buttocks and improving the texture and the fit feeling.
STRUCTURAL COMPOSITE SEAT CUSHION FRAME AND STORAGE LID WITH LOCKABLE LATCH SYSTEM
A seating assembly includes a seatback frame having first and second pivot apertures defined on an inside surface of first and second side members, respectively, of the seatback frame. A seat includes a cushion assembly supported on a polymeric seat storage lid having a rear vertical wall and a forward lateral body. The forward lateral body is defined by a plurality of upwardly-opening support cells. First and second metal pivot pins extend from first and second sides of the rear vertical wall of the seat storage lid and engage such that a seat is operable between open and closed positions. A forward rounded hump is detachably coupled with a top surface of the seat storage lid. The forward rounded hump is configured to lessen the potential of an occupant to slide forward in the seat. A lock is operably coupled with the seat storage lid.
Anti-submarining apparatus for a vehicle
A support element of a vehicle seat includes a body formed by a flexible supporting element and a rigid reinforcing element, with the flexible supporting element defining a cavity extending into a part of the body, the rigid reinforcing element extending into the cavity and being formed by a material that is stiffer than the flexible supporting element and having an affinity with the flexible supporting element. The body is further formed of at least one reinforcing ply extending against at least a part of the rigid reinforcing element.
Vehicle seat with load sensor and pan frame including inclined edge
A passenger's weight measurement device for a vehicle seat includes an upper rail provided on a lower rail that is fixable to a vehicle floor, the upper rail being movable in at least one of rear and front directions; a load sensor fixed onto the upper rail; and a frame provided on the load sensor and below the vehicle seat. In plan view, the load sensor protrudes from the frame in at least one of left and right directions.
ANTI-SUBMARINING SEAT SYSTEM
Various systems and methods are presented regarding controlling respective positions of a seat back and seat base to mitigate the risk of a vehicle occupant submarining in the event of the vehicle being involved in a collision/rapid deceleration. Positioning of the seat back/seat base can be controlled in accordance with the occupant's physiology and posture, e.g., reclining. Cameras/radar sensors in the passenger compartment in conjunction with seat sensors can be generate physiology/positioning data, which can be processed, and based thereon, the seat back/base positions can be controlled by one or more motors.
Vehicle seat assembly
A vehicle seat assembly has a seat bottom frame, a seat suspension structure, a strap structure and a cushion material. The seat suspension structure is fixed to the seat bottom frame and extends through a seat cushion receiving area of the seat bottom frame. The strap structure is attached to one of a front frame portion of the seat bottom frame and a front end of the seat suspension structure, and is attached to one of a rear frame portion and a rear end of the seat suspension structure. The strap structure extends through the seat cushion receiving area and is slack with a passenger seated on the cushion material. Downward movement of the seat cushion in response to a rapid change in momentum causes the strap structure to become taught restricting further downward movement of the passenger.
CUSHION BODY
A cushion body includes a seat pad and a seat cover that covers the seat pad. The cushion body includes a fastening groove that is formed on a pad back surface of the seat pad, and a fastener that is sewn to an end of the seat cover and that is press-fitted into the fastening groove. A groove wall of the fastening groove includes a protruding groove wall that protrudes so as to form a press-fit surface of the fastener, and a recessed groove wall that is aligned with the protruding groove wall in a groove length direction and that is recessed so as to avoid abutting against the fastener.
