The connection member connects the left and right links together in the seat left-right direction. The left and right slide rails are disposed below the left and right side frames and are attached to a floor section of the vehicle. The left and right risers are respectively attached to the left and right slide rails, are connected to respective other end portions of the left and right links, and are configured to be impacted by the connection member under load from the occupant during a head-on collision of the vehicle.
Intelligent seat cushion
A seat assembly of a vehicle includes a seat cushion, and a plurality of inflatable tubes located in the seat cushion. An inflation apparatus is operably connected to the plurality of inflatable tubes to selectably inflate the plurality of inflatable tubes upon detection of a crash event. A method of operating a seat assembly of a vehicle includes detecting a crash event, and selectably inflating a plurality of inflatable tubes in a seat cushion of the seat assembly in response to detection of the crash event. One or more inflatable tubes may be provided in a seat back, headrest and/or side bolster of the seat assembly to enhance active and passive safety features and to improve occupant comfort. This feature can be extended to a seat backrest, seat bolster and seat headrest to enhance active and passive safety features.
Foam part, in particular for a vehicle seat, and vehicle seat
A foam part (5, 105, 205, 305), in particular for a vehicle seat, includes several comfort tubes (50, 150, 250, 350) facing a user. Several of the comfort tubes (50, 150, 250, 350) respectively comprise a hole (55, 155, 255, 355, 60, 160, 260, 360) or several holes (55, 155, 255, 355, 60, 160, 260, 360). At least one of the holes (55, 155, 255, 355, 60, 160, 260, 360) is embodied as a blind hole (60, 160, 260, 360).
Seat for reducing the risk of spinal injuries
A seat is provided having a layer of high impact energy absorbing material and a sacral well provided therethrough. The seat may form a bottom portion of a vehicle seat that may further include a back support portion extending upwardly for supporting the rearward side of a seated individual. The back support may include a lower section for supporting the thorax and lower back, and an upper section. There may be one or more overlying sections positionable for supporting and restraining rearward movement of an individual.
Bladder system for vehicle seating assembly
A vehicle seating assembly includes a seat. A seat bladder is disposed between a support and trim material face. The bladder is positively pressurized when the seat is unoccupied. An elastomeric reservoir is operably coupled with the seat bladder via a fluid line, wherein fluid moves to and pressurizes the reservoir when a passenger is seated on the seat. A rigid containment unit is configured to house the reservoir and limit expansion of the reservoir.
Composite seat structure
A vehicle seating assembly is provided that includes a seatback and a seat base operably connected to the seatback. The seat base includes a seat base frame having a rear tube extending laterally between at least two side members, a seat cushion assembly, and a composite seat pan positioned between the seat cushion assembly and the seat base frame and having a plurality of recessed features configured to couple over the rear tube and side members. The seat pan integrally defines a flexible cross bar extending laterally between the recessed features. A plurality of hooks integrally defined by the seat pan are operably coupled to the seat cushion assembly.
VEHICLE SEAT BOTTOM WITH INDEPENDENTLY DEPLOYABLE DEVICES
A seat bottom includes a frame, a first thigh support, and a second thigh support. The first thigh support and the second thigh support are each supported by the frame and independently movable relative to the frame. A first deployable device is coupled to the first thigh support, and a second deployable device is coupled to the second thigh support. At least one inflator is in fluid communication with at least one of the first and second deployable devices. The first and second deployable devices are each formed of thermoplastic elastomer and are inflatable from an undeployed position to a deployed position.
Motor vehicle
A motor vehicle, encompassing a body, a drive motor, in particular an internal combustion engine and/or an electric motor, a crash detection device, a computing unit, at least one front seat with a seat part and a back part, at least one rear seat with a seat part and a back part, at least one rearward displacement device for the at least partial rearward displacement of the at least one front seat during a pre-crash phase acquired by the crash detection device, wherein the seat part of the at least one rear seat has built into it a first means for lifting up the legs of an individual on the at least one rear seat during the pre-crash phase, and the back part of the at least one front seat has built into it a second means for the rearward movement of the legs of the individual on the at least one rear seat during the pre-crash phase.
