ADJUSTABLE VEHICLE SEAT ASSEMBLY
A vehicle seat assembly is provided with a seat bottom pivotally mounted to an actuator and a vehicle floor. A controller is in electrical communication with the actuator and programmed to receive input indicative of a seating position angle, and input indicative of a potential vehicle impact. A signal is output to the actuator to pivot the seat to a nearest one of the plurality of predefined seat orientations if the seating position is not one of the plurality of predefined seat orientations when the input indicative of the potential vehicle impact is received. The signal is not output to the actuator if the seating position is one of the plurality of predefined seat orientations when the input indicative of the potential vehicle impact is received. The plurality of predefined seat orientations is offset radially at sequential increments.
VEHICLE BODY STRUCTURE
There is provided a vehicle body structure including: a seat member storable in a floor of a vehicle body; a front door disposed on a vehicle-width directional outer side relative to the seat member; a first load transmission member and a second load transmission member disposed in the front door and configured to transmit a side collision load to the seat member at a side collision. The first load transmission member and the second load transmission member are arranged higher than an upper surface of the seat member being in a dive-down stored condition.
PASSENGER SEAT FOR AIRCRAFT
A passenger seat for an aircraft has a fixed seat portion with a front facing toward a first direction of the aircraft. The fixed seat portion has a centerline spaced equally from opposed lateral sides of the fixed seat portion. A first engagement member extends upwardly from the front at the centerline to a first engagement end. A moveable seat portion is mounted onto the fixed seat portion and is displaceable relative thereto. The moveable seat portion has a second engagement member extending downwardly from a front of the moveable seat portion to a second engagement end. The second engagement member is displaceable with the moveable seat portion to position the second engagement end under the first engagement end in an engagement position such that the overlapping first and second engagement ends prevent the moveable seat portion from pitching in a second direction opposite to the first direction.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR OCCUPANT PROTECTION IN A VEHICLE
A method for occupant protection in a vehicle, a vehicle occupant protection system, a vehicle and a computer readable medium. The vehicle comprising at least one seat for accommodating an occupant, wherein the seat is slidably connected with the vehicle by a connection mechanism, and wherein the seat is lockable in a defined seating position by a locking mechanism, to prevent sliding in the connection mechanism when locked and to allow sliding when unlocked, the method comprising determining an imminent or ongoing vehicle crash; determining a seating position; upon the determination of the seat being an in a rearward seating position and the occurrence of an imminent or ongoing vehicle crash; unlocking the locking mechanism to allow the sliding of the seat from the rearward seating position towards a conventional driving seating position.
Restraint systems
A restraint system includes a restraint, an anchor coupled to the restraint and movable along an anchor guide, an anchor energy-absorbing (EA) device configured to control movement of the anchor along the anchor guide, and a controller that includes a processor configured to receive information indicative of an imminent event, receive information indicative of a recline angle being above a recline threshold, and send a command to enable the anchor to move along the anchor guide under control of the anchor EA device based on the information indicative of the imminent event and the recline angle being above the recline threshold.
ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE SEAT
It is provided adjustment system for a vehicle seat, which comprises a base, a lever, which is pivotably mounted on the base, and an adjustment unit, which is coupled to the lever and is configured to pivot the lever relative to the base. A release device coupled to the adjustment unit is provided, which release device is configured to cause a relative movement between the adjustment unit and the base on the basis of a signal indicating a vehicle collision from a collision sensor operatively connected or connectable to the release device.
Moving seats in a vehicle to enhance occupant protection
The disclosure provides for a system. The system may include a rotational control system configured to rotate a seat of a vehicle, and one or more computing devices. The one or more computing devices may have one or more processors that are configured to determine that an impact is imminent at a location on the vehicle along a collision axis. A most favorable orientation may be determined by the one or more processors based on the determined location and collision axis. Using the rotational control system, the one or more processors may rotate the seat of the vehicle to the most favorable orientation in order to reduce risks of serious injury to a passenger in the seat caused by the imminent impact. A translational control system may be used by the one or more processors to translate the seat of the vehicle to a position relative to the determined location.
PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM AND CORRESPONDING OCCUPANT PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
A pre-collision system for an occupant protection system of a vehicle, includes a predictive sensor system, a vehicle seat, a restraint system, and an evaluation and control unit that evaluates output signals of the predictive sensor system and activates a belt tensioning function of the restraint system if the evaluation of the output signals indicates an imminent collision, where the belt tensioning function generates a tensile force in the belt, which presses a corresponding occupant into the vehicle seat, with a resulting kinetic energy of the occupant that releases a pre-trigger mechanism, which is integrated into a mounting of the vehicle seat, and that enables a blocked degree of freedom of the vehicle seat so that the entire vehicle seat tilts about a defined tilt axis in the direction of an expected impact force.
Ramp mount
Ramp mounts may facilitate the movement of a passenger seat pan relative to a passenger seat frame during movement of the seat pan between an upright position and a recline position relative to the passenger seat frame. During cycling of the seat pan from the recline position to the upright position, ramp mounts may break. Embodiments of the ramp mount disclosed herein may increase the ramp mount durability so as to reduce the instances of ramp mounts breaking during cycling of the seat pan between the recline and upright positions. Additionally, some embodiments may provide for a ramp mount that has fewer components. Such embodiments may simplify coupling of the ramp mount to a seat pan and may reduce passenger seat system assembly time. Moreover, in some embodiments, the reduced number of components may further reduce manufacturing time and/or coststhereby providing a relatively low cost ramp mount.
Vehicle seat fastening structure and vehicle seat fastener
Provided is a vehicle seat fastening structure that enables a reduced length of a bolt for fastening a movable rail and a cushion frame in a spaced-apart manner. The cushion frame includes a bottom wall extending in a seat-width direction and a seat front-rear direction. The nut includes a body having a cylindrical shape and configured to penetrate the bottom wall, a thread groove, and a flange portion projecting radially from the body. A length of the nut along a central axis thereof is greater than a separation distance between an upper surface of the movable rail and an upper surface of the bottom wall of the cushion frame in a state in which no impact is applied to the cushion frame. The flange portion is provided in an area of the nut at a distance from an insertion opening for the bolt greater than the separation distance.
