System and Method for Adjusting an Interior Configuration of a Vehicle in Response to a Vehicular Accident
A system and method are provided for controlling an interior configuration of a vehicle following a collision. Sensor data that includes, or is derived from data that includes, data collected by one or more sensors is received, and a vehicle accident condition indicative of an accident having occurred is detected by processing the sensor data. After detecting the vehicle accident condition, an actuator component is caused to prevent a passenger from adjusting an interior vehicle component outside a predetermined range of physical configurations, while allowing the passenger to adjust the interior vehicle component within the predetermined range of physical configurations.
Automatic ejection seat performance optimization based on detection of aircrew weight
A system for automatic optimization of an ejection system for an aircraft includes the ejection system having a plurality of adjustable settings. The system further includes a sensor configured to detect weight data corresponding to a weight of a user of the ejection system. The system further includes a controller coupled to the ejection system and to the sensor and configured to adjust at least one of the plurality of the adjustable settings of the ejection system based on the weight data.
Vehicle seat support assembly
A vehicle seat support assembly includes: a front link; and a front link bracket coupled to an upper rail of a vehicle seat and including a sagging support portion configured to inhibit sagging of the front link toward the upper rail. In particular, the front link is pivotally coupled to the front link.
Seat energy absorber assembly
A vehicle assembly includes a vehicle body including an interior panel, a seat having a frame fixed to the panel, and a seat energy absorber operably associated with the seat and including a backing and a bracket. The backing is formed from the vehicle body and positioned separated from the seat to define a space between the seat and the backing along a length of the panel, and the bracket is mounted in the space on at least one of the seat and the backing such that a proximal end portion of the bracket is located closer to the seat than the backing, and a distal end portion of the bracket is located closer to the backing than the seat. During a crash event a section of the panel is configured to collapse against the seat when the seat is driven toward the panel relative to the vehicle body.
VEHICLE OCCUPANT PROTECTION APPARATUS AND METHOD
Proposed are a vehicle occupant protection apparatus and method. A vehicle sensor detects a target present around a vehicle. A drive unit is configured to increase a space between a side structure of the vehicle and an occupant in the event of a side collision between the vehicle and the target collide. A space control unit controls the drive unit in response to detection information detected by the vehicle sensor to protect the occupant from the side structure.
OCCUPANT PROTECTING SYSTEM
In a vehicle, an occupant is suitably protected even when the occupant is seated in the vehicle with the seat inclined and facing a direction different from the advancing direction of the vehicle. A system for protecting an occupant boarding on a seat in a vehicle, where a seat back of the seat is configured to be inclinable with respect to a seat cushion of the seat. The system includes an acquiring unit that acquires environment information related to the vehicle in traveling or the surrounding environment thereof; and a control unit that, when the seat is facing a direction different from an advancing direction of the vehicle and the seat back is in an inclined state with respect to the seat cushion by greater than or equal to a predetermined angle, executes a support control to support the occupant in the seat to resist an inertial force that is assumed to act on the occupant boarding on the seat, based on the environment information.
Adjusting interior configuration of a vehicle based on external environment data
A system and method are provided for controlling an interior configuration of a vehicle. The system may include an interior vehicle component, an actuator component configured to adjust a physical configuration of the interior vehicle component, an external communication component configured to collect driving environment data representing an external environment of the vehicle, and one or more processors configured to receive driving environment data and detect, by processing the driving environment data, an external driving condition. When the one or more processors detect the external driving condition, the one or more processors may cause the actuator component to adjust the interior vehicle component from a first physical configuration to a second physical configuration, or may cause the actuator component to restrict movement of the interior vehicle component to a predetermined range of physical configurations.
Safety systems for reclined seats
A safety system includes a restraint configured to secure an occupant to a seat, an anchor coupled to the restraint and movable along an anchor guide, an anchor energy-absorbing (EA) device configured to control movement of the anchor along the anchor guide, and a controller that includes a processor configured to receive information indicative of an imminent vehicle event, receive information indicative of a recline angle of the seat being above a recline threshold, and send a command to enable the anchor to move along the anchor guide under control of the anchor EA device based on the information indicative of the imminent vehicle event and the recline angle being above the recline threshold.
SEAT ASSEMBLY WITH DEPLOYABLE PANEL
A seat assembly for a vehicle includes a seatback having a seat frame. The seat assembly includes a panel having an end slidably supported by the seat frame. The panel is bowable outwardly from the seat frame to a deployed position. The seat assembly includes an actuator supported by the seat frame and connected to the end of the panel.
