VEHICLE SEAT

A vehicle seat installed with a vehicle occupant restraining device, the vehicle seat includes: a seat cushion frame including a seat cushion side frame; a seatback frame supported swingably about a reclining rod and including a seatback side frame; an engaging portion disposed at a seat rear end side of the seat cushion side frame and at a seat lower side relative to the reclining rod, and protruding toward a seat transverse direction inner side; a first movable member disposed along the seatback side frame, a lower end portion of the first movable member being extended to position at a seat front side of the engaging portion; and a first driving member configured to extend the first movable member in a case in which a vehicle collision at a seat front side occurs or a vehicle collision at the seat front side is predicted.

VEHICLE SEAT

A seating posture is stabilized for the shoulders of a passenger seated on a vehicle seat. A vehicle seat is provided with a seat back configured to support the seated person from the rear. A shoulder support portion of the seat back configured to support a corresponding one of the shoulders of the seated passenger includes an air cell configured to expand when air is supplied. When the air cell expands, one end portion of the shoulder support portion on the outside in the width direction of the vehicle seat moves more forward than the other end portion of the shoulder support portion on the inside in the width direction.

A securing system for supporting an object within a vehicle and for translating forces occurring therebetween. The system includes a component adapted to support the object within the vehicle, a mount adapted for attachment to the vehicle for concurrent movement with the vehicle, and an interface member operatively attached to and spaced from the mount. A coupler is operatively attached to one of the component and the interface member, and a receiver is operatively attached to the other of the component and the interface member. The receiver is selectively movable between a first position where the receiver secures the coupler for concurrent movement therewith and a second position where the coupler can be removed from the receiver. A translation module is interposed in force-translating relationship between the mount and the interface member to support the component when the coupler is secured to the receiver in the first position.

Vehicle seat with restraint system

An assembly includes a seat bottom, a scissor mechanism, and a pyrotechnic actuator. The seat bottom includes a rear seat cushion and a front seat cushion in a seat-forward direction from the rear seat cushion. The rear seat cushion is movable between a raised position and a lowered position relative to the front seat cushion. The scissor mechanism is coupled to the rear seat cushion and movable between an extended position and a compressed position. The scissor mechanism in the extended position holds the rear seat cushion at the raised position. The scissor mechanism in the compressed position holds the rear seat cushion at the lowered position. The pyrotechnic actuator is connected to the rear seat cushion and dischargeable to move the rear seat cushion from the raised position to the lowered position.

Seat pan impulse device for the reduction of spinal tension loads resulting from a free flail event

A system and method for delivering an axial compression load to a passenger during a frontal deceleration event is disclosed. The system includes a seat frame, a seat pan, and an impulse generator coupled to the seat pan configured to provide an axial compression load onto a spine of a sitting passenger during a forward deceleration event. The system further includes a controller configured to receive a forward deceleration signal from the inertial sensor and activate the impulse generator based on the forward deceleration signal. The impulse generator may generate a compressive force via a chemical reaction, via a mechanically stored energy, a solenoid switch, or via a rotating cam assembly.

Combat vehicle seat installation for protection of occupants from the effects of ground explosions

A seat installation for a combat vehicle which protects an occupant from the effects of an explosion detonated beneath the vehicle in which breakaway structures are interposed between a seat pan and the vehicle floor which initially rapidly drives the seat up after the explosion, but which quickly breaks away to avoid spinal compression injury. A crushable energy absorbing structures thereafter absorb the floor motion, each structure comprised with a vertical stack of crushable energy absorbing cells which are successively crushed at higher force levels to adapt the seat installation to varying weight occupants. A pivoted foot rest provides spaced above the floor which mitigates injuries to the feet and legs by allowing the feet to avoid contact with the floor and which swing up and away from the floor while avoiding tipping of the seat.

VEHICULAR SEAT EQUIPPED WITH CUSHION AIRBAG DEVICE, AND CUSHION AIRBAG

A vehicular seat includes: a cushion panel disposed to extend in a seat front-rear direction and to form a bottom portion of a seat cushion; an inflator configured to operate to produce gas, the inflator being provided in the seat cushion; and a cushion airbag configured to expand due to the gas and to push up a range including portions of a seat occupant from thighs to hip points in an expansion end state, the cushion airbag being provided over the cushion panel, in which the cushion airbag is set such that a push-up force in rear right and left regions corresponding to right and left hip joints to right and left lower ischium portions of the seat occupant in the expansion end state is lower than a push-up force in a rear center region present between the rear right and left regions in the expansion end state.

Vehicle Seat and Passenger Selection System

A vehicle seat comprises a frame member provided on a floor of a vehicle, a seat part such as a seat cushion detachably attached to the frame member, a mechanical connector device provided on the frame member and the seat part for detachably attaching the seat part to the frame member; and an electric connector device provided on the frame member and the seat part for electrically connecting an electric component provided on the seat part to an electric component provided on the frame member.
