Frame assembly for a vehicle seat
A frame assembly for a vehicle seat includes a headrest frame including at least one support pole extending downwardly from the headrest frame and a seatback frame having a central body and a pair of outer brackets extending outwardly from the central body in spaced relationship to one another. A crossbar extends between and is rotatable relative to the pair of outer brackets. The at least one support pole is secured to the crossbar for facilitating concurrent rotation of the headrest frame with the crossbar. A locking mechanism is operably interconnected with the crossbar. An actuator is movable from a first actuator position to a second actuator position to engage the locking mechanism and move the locking mechanism from a locked condition to an unlocked condition. A slide shaft extends between the pair of outer brackets and supports the actuator during movement between the first and second actuator positions.
HEADREST MODULE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE SEAT
A headrest module for a motor vehicle seat includes a base component and a headrest mounted in the base component. The headrest is configured to be guided in a vehicle longitudinal direction so as to be extendable and retractable relative to the base component. The headrest further includes a fixing mechanism having a first fixing element with teeth and a second fixing element configured to be moved towards the first fixing element for engagement between adjacent teeth. Contact faces of the two fixing elements are configured such that an extension of the headrest is possible under the action of a force on the headrest in an extension direction. A movement of the headrest in a retraction direction is possible under action of a release mechanism of the headrest module configured to move the second fixing element out of the region between the teeth of the first fixing element.
Vehicle seat assembly including head restraint that folds and unfolds with seat back
A seat assembly includes a seat bottom, a seat back, and a head restraint. The seat back is connected to the seat bottom and is configured to pivot relative to the seat bottom between an unfolded position and a folded position. The head restraint is connected to the seat back and is configured to pivot relative to the seat back between an unfolded position and a folded position. The head restraint is configured to automatically pivot from its folded position to its unfolded position when the seat back pivots from its folded position to its unfolded position.
RATCHETING HEADREST ASSEMBLY
A headrest assembly for use in an automobile that is pivotal in the fore-aft direction. The headrest assembly includes a housing formed of a front shell and a rear shell. An armature operatively couples the housing to a seatback of an automobile seat. A ratchet mechanism couples the housing to the armature and effectuates the pivotal movement. The ratchet mechanism includes a fixed ratchet member statically connected to the armature and that defines a plurality of fixed ratchet teeth. The ratchet mechanism also includes a moveable ratchet member pivotally connected to the housing and that defines a plurality of moveable ratchet teeth. The moveable ratchet member is biased in an engaged position wherein the fixed ratchet teeth and the moveable ratchet teeth are interlocked and hold the housing a varying pivot angles in the fore-aft direction with respect to the seatback.

HEADREST ELEMENT AND HEADREST
A headrest element may have a central supporting region and two lateral supporting regions. The lateral supporting regions may be pivotable with respect to the central supporting region about a side pivot axis, which may run at least substantially parallel to a supporting surface of the central supporting region, in such a manner that an angle of the supporting surfaces of the lateral supporting regions can in each case be adjusted variably with respect to the supporting surface of the central supporting region. The central supporting region and the lateral supporting regions may be jointly pivotable about a transverse pivot axis, which runs at least substantially perpendicular to the side pivot axes, in such a manner that an adjustment of the supporting regions in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle is possible. A headrest using the headrest element is also described.

SELF-RESET ADJUSTING MECHANISM
The invention relates to a self-reset adjusting mechanism, including: a mounting base; an adjusting member rotatably mounted on the mounting base; a first reset member mounted between the adjusting member and the mounting base; a limiting member rotatably mounted on the mounting base, the limiting member being provided with, corresponding to the adjusting member, a plurality of clamping tables at different heights, and the position of the adjusting member being adjusted by clamping the adjusting member on the clamping tables corresponding to the limiting member; and a second reset member mounted between the limiting member and the mounting base, when the limiting member is rotated to the limit position, the second reset member being deformed to produce an acting force in a direction the same as the rotation direction of the limiting member to cause the limiting member to be in the limit position, and in this case, the first reset member resetting the adjusting member and exerting a reset acting force on the limiting member, so that the second reset member is restored and the limiting member is reset. The self-reset adjusting mechanism of the invention simplifies a core mechanism of a headrest while ensuring the strength of the headrest, has a simple structure, occupies a small space, and has a large adjustment range and a high impact resistance strength.
