Ratcheting headrest assembly

A headrest assembly according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes a head restraint configured to rotate from a first locked position to a second locked position to incline the head restraint relative to a seat back. Further, the head restraint is configured such that rotation of the head restraint beyond the second locked position causes the head restraint to become urged back to the first locked position. The head restraint includes a ratchet assembly having a pawl and pawl spring, and the pawl spring includes a first section and a second section. The first section of the pawl spring is configured to contact the pawl when the head restraint is rotated from the first locked position to the second locked position, and the second section of the pawl spring is configured to contact the pawl when the head restraint is rotated beyond the second locked position.

Extended seatback module head restraint attachment

A vehicle seating assembly for a motor vehicle has a lower seat and a seatback extending upwardly from the lower seat. The seatback comprises a forward facing surface, a rearward facing surface, and a headrest mounted on an upper portion of the seatback and received within a central recess disposed on the forward facing surface of the seatback, wherein the seatback further comprises a headrest dovetail mounted on the headrest and a dovetail receiver mounted within the recess having a slot into which the headrest dovetail is received.

Adjustable upper seatback module

A vehicle seating assembly has a seat having a lower seat and a seatback extending upwardly from the lower seat. The seatback has a lower stationary seatback base portion having a seatback frame assembly, and an upper movable seatback hood module vertically adjustable relative the lower stationary portion. The upper movable seatback hood module has an upper seatback slide bracket, and a plurality of rail guides slidably engaging a rail. An electric motor drive unit engages a driven member to vertically adjust the upper movable seatback hood module relative the lower stationary portion when the electric motor drive unit is actuated.

VEHICLE SEAT HEADREST

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a headrest to be infallibly locked when returned from a forward tilted position to a using position, without requiring high part accuracy and assembly accuracy. A vehicle seat headrest (4) according to the present invention, having: a stay (402) held on the seat back side; and a headrest main body (4A) supported forward rotatably from a using position with respect to the stay (402), includes: a locking mechanism (500) that fixes a rotation position of the headrest main body (4A) with respect to the stay (402) in the using position; and a stopper mechanism (600) that is not engaged with a regulation part in the using position, but is engaged with the regulation part when the headrest main body (4A) is tilted backward from the using position, to regulate backward tilting of the headrest main body (4A).
