The invention relates to a foldable head rest assembly (1) for a vehicle comprising a bracket (3), an armature (5) for carrying a head rest, a locking mechanism (33) and a release mechanism, wherein the armature comprises a first arm, which is mounted to the bracket by an armature shaft (17) and pivotable with respect to the bracket about a first axis (18) between an upright position and a folded position, wherein the first axis is defined by the armature shaft, wherein the locking mechanism (33) prevents pivoting of the armature from the upright position to the folded position and wherein the release mechanism (49) can move the locking mechanism from a locked position to an unlocked position, characterized in that an abutment surface (34) of the first arm abuts a locking shaft (31) in the upright position, the locking shaft extending along a second axis that extends parallel to and spaced apart from the first axis, and the release mechanism is mounted to the locking shaft (31) and pivotable about the second axis (32).

A seat headrest comprising: a headrest frame (12) having: a lower frame part (14) configured to be attached to a seat back; an upper frame part (24) pivotally attached to the lower frame part at a pivot point to be moveable between a fully open position and a folded position; and a locking mechanism (40) at the pivot point to releasably lock the upper frame part relative to the lower frame part in the fully open position and the folded position, the locking mechanism including a release member (42) for operation by a user to release the lock to enable the upper frame part to be pivoted relative to the lower frame part.

With the armrest assembly in the vehicle of the disclosure, the depth at which the cup is held can be increased, the holding effect can be improved, and the comfort and safety of the headrest can be ensured.

An assembly comprises a seat bottom and a seat back pivotally attached to the seat bottom. The seat back is pivotal between a fold-forward position and an in-use position. A headrest is pivotally attached to the seat back by a tilt mechanism and is pivotal between a folded position and an upright position via the tilt mechanism. The tilt mechanism pivots the headrest forward to the folded position in response to the seat back being pivoted to the fold-forward position. A headrest-return mechanism is operably coupled to the seat back and to the headrest, wherein the headrest-return mechanism actuates the headrest such that the headrest is pivoted from the folded position to the upright position in response to the seat back being pivoted from the fold-forward position to the in-use position.
