A vehicle component for a motor vehicle having a rear seat device with at least one headrest and having a wind deflector device with an extendable planar element for protecting front seats of the motor vehicle against relative wind. In an extended state, the planar element extends from a region behind the headrest to a region in front of the headrest. In this context, the headrest can be pivoted by a pivoting device from a position of use, in which the headrest projects beyond a height of the planar element in the extended state, into a position of rest. In the position of rest, the headrest is arranged under the extended planar element.

A method, apparatus, and system for retaining a stow strap is disclosed. The stow strap may be usable with a stowable automotive seat. A seat stowing mechanism may be housed at least partially within the inner portion of the seat. A stow strap may be interoperable with the seat stowing mechanism, wherein the stow strap passes from the inner seat to the outer rear seatback surface of the seat through an opening in the outer rear seatback of the seat. Pulling the stow strap imparts a force in a first direction on the seat stowing mechanism. A stow strap retaining mechanism may be spaced from the opening and may provide a reactive force in a return direction to return the stow strap toward the outer rear seatback surface when the stow strap is pulled away from the rear seatback surface.

A latch assembly of a seat is provided in a vehicle. The latch assembly includes a base including a first pin and a second pin. A first latch includes a first housing and a first latch mechanism at least partially enclosed within the first housing. The first latch is pivotally coupled to the base. A second latch includes a second housing and a second latch mechanism at least partially enclosed within the second housing. The second latch is pivotally coupled to the base. The first latch is disposed in its latched position when the first latch engages the first pin, and the second latch is disposed in its latched position when the second latch engages the second pin. The first latch and the second latch are not disposed in their respective latched positions at the same time.

Multi-actuator capable headrest

A multi-actuator capable vehicle headrest includes a headrest support and a multi-cam release mechanism mounted to the headrest support. The multi-cam release mechanism includes a first cam and a second cam. A headrest shell member is pivotally mounted to the headrest support through the multi-cam release mechanism. An actuator is mounted to the headrest shell member. The actuator includes a first actuator portion operable to disengage the multi-cam release mechanism based on a first input and a second actuator portion operable to disengage the multi-cam release mechanism based on a second input that is distinct from the first input allowing the multi-actuator capable vehicle headrest to transition between a deployed configuration and a folded configuration.

The cable has a first end section arranged in the seatback and a second end section coupled to the release mechanism. The longitudinal length of the sleeve includes a first dimension when the seatback is in an upright position and the longitudinal length has a second, longer dimension, when the seatback is in a folded configuration.

A headrest includes a body, having a wall, a cargo channel in the wall and a tie-down feature carried on the body. The headrest may be incorporated into a seat assembly including a seat bottom, a seat back and the headrest carried on the seat back. The headrest and seat assembly are useful in a method of transporting cargo in a motor vehicle including, particularly, a long cargo item.
