Bumper reinforcement
A bumper reinforcement includes an aluminum alloy extrusion body having a pair of flanges to be positioned on a vehicle body side and on a collision side and a pair of webs to be positioned in a vehicle vertical direction. The pair of webs connect the pair of flanges at joint portions such that the pair of webs and the pair of flanges form a closed cross section, and the pair of webs do not have a welded portion.
Bumper arrangement
A bumper arrangement includes a cross member and two deformation elements for arrangement between end regions of the cross member and longitudinal members of a motor vehicle. The cross member is hollow with a front and rear walls and upper and lower walls. The front wall has a depression extending in longitudinal direction of the cross member. The depression has a deepest region extending at a distance from the rear wall. The upper and lower walls of the cross member each have in the end regions a further depression which extends in longitudinal direction of the cross member, so that the upper wall and the lower wall are more corrugated in the end regions than in a central region of the cross member, so that the distance between the front wall and the rear wall in the end regions is smaller than in a central region of the cross member.
Bumper crossmember, and vehicle rear arrangement with bumper crossmember
A bumper crossmember for a vehicle, with a hollow profile body which has a vehicle frame-side proximal vertical wall and a distal vertical wall which are connected to one another by way of transverse walls and extend along a vertical direction. The transverse walls laterally delimit hollow chambers which are arranged in the hollow profile body. The center longitudinal direction of the hollow chambers are oriented in each case along the vertical direction, and the hollow chambers are open on the end side.
Bumper for a motor vehicle with reinforcement and method for manufacturing the bumper
The invention relates to a bumper (10) for a motor vehicle, with a cross beam element (30) exhibiting a back side (22) designed to be fastened to the motor vehicle with at least one fastening device (25), preferably in the form of a crash box, and a front side (21) lying opposite the back side (22), wherein the cross beam element (30) has at least one hollow chamber (36, 37) with a closed cross section, and with a reinforcing element (40; 40a), which extends over part of the length of the cross beam element (30) and is joined with the cross beam element (30). The invention provides that the cross beam element (30) be designed together with the reinforcing element (40; 40a) as a single-piece extruded part.
One piece load distribution device
A load distribution device for a vehicle configured to distribute loads in the event of a collision involving the vehicle, the load distribution device comprises: an upper beam extending in a transversal direction and connectable to at least one upper load path of the vehicle; a lower beam extending in the transversal direction and arrangeable at at least one lower load path of the vehicle; and an interconnecting portion connecting the upper beam and the lower beam, wherein the upper beam, the lower beam, and the interconnecting portion are made in a single piece.
Multi-cell energy absorbing structures
An apparatus, according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a vehicle structural component that has a plurality of open cells surrounding an open center section. The open center section comprises a multi-corner open center. A method according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, extruding a vehicle structural component from a metallic material, wherein the vehicle structural component includes a plurality of open cells surrounding an open center section, and wherein the plurality of open cells each comprise a polygonal cross-section and the open center section comprises a multi-corner open center.
Bumper cross member for a motor vehicle and method for the production of a bumper cross member
A bumper cross member for a motor vehicle is produced from an extruded hollow profile and has a front side forming an impact side, a rear side in opposition to the front side, end zones configured for connection to the motor vehicle, a central zone extending between the end zones and bent toward the impact side, and top and bottom sides connecting the rear side with the front side. Each of the top and bottom sides has a projecting flange which is separated from the rear side by a separation cut configured to end shy of the end zones so that the flanges are connected with the bumper cross member in the end zones.
Bumper Crossmember For A Vehicle
A bumper crossmember for a vehicle having a first crossmember provided by an outer shell facing away from the vehicle and an inner shell facing toward the vehicle, which two shells are connected to one another along their circumference. This crossmember has at least one passage oriented in the direction of its longitudinal extension and extending over its middle with respect to its longitudinal extension (y direction), and by which the crossmember is divided into an upper hollow chamber section and a lower hollow chamber section. Crash boxes arranged at distance from one another are connected to the lower hollow chamber section on its side facing the vehicle. The bumper crossmember has a second lower crossmember spaced apart in the z direction from the lower hollow chamber section and connected by at least two connector parts to the lower hollow chamber section of the first crossmember. Crash boxes arranged at a distance to one another are connected on the side of the second crossmember facing the vehicle.
Each of the top and bottom skies has a projecting flange which is separated from the rear side by a separation cut configured to end shy of the end zones so that the flanges are connected with the bumper cross member in the end zones.
BUMPER REINFORCEMENT
A bumper reinforcement includes a front wall, a rear wall disposed behind the front wall, at least one horizontal wall connecting the front wall and the rear wall, and a cutout in the at least one horizontal wall. The cutout extends laterally inward from a lateral end of the at least one horizontal wall. The cutout divides a lateral end portion of the bumper reinforcement between a front end portion located in front of the cutout and a rear end portion located behind the cutout. The front end portion includes a protruded portion which is bent rearward to be tilted with respect to the rear wall and protrudes laterally outward further than a lateral end of the rear end portion.
