Bumper beam
10407009 · 2019-09-10 · ·

The invention relates to a bumper beam (B) comprising a main cross member (1) and a cross member part (2) fixedly attached to said main cross member (1). Said cross member part (2) forms in itself or together with one or more portions of the main cross member (1) a closed chamber (C) in a cross section of the bumper beam and is arranged at an upper side (11) or at a lower side (12) of said main cross member (1). Said closed chamber (C) abuts and extends over only a portion of said upper side (11) or said lower side (12) of said main cross member (1) as seen in the cross direction of said main cross member (1) and over essentially the entire length and in a longitudinal direction of said main cross member (1). Said main cross member (1) together with said cross member part (2) form a closed main chamber (M).

Vehicle bumper beam with varied strength zones

A bumper assembly may include a pair of crush cans and a bumper beam. The pair of crush cans are for securing to a vehicle body. The bumper beam is secured to the crush cans and includes a first end and a second end each extending outboard of one of the crush cans, and a middle portion extending between the first and second ends. The bumper beam is thermally treated to provide the first and second ends with less tensile strength than the middle portion. The middle portion may have a tensile strength between 1000 MPa and 1900 MPa. Each of the first and second ends may have a tensile strength between 600 MPa and 900 MPa.

Structural member for vehicle

A collision resistance performance of a structural member is effectively improved while suppressing an unnecessary increase in mass of the structural member. The structural member includes a hollow member and a tension member. The hollow member forms a closed cross-sectional shape by a top sheet portion, a pair of sidewall portions each continuous to each side of the top sheet portion in a width direction, and a bottom sheet portion arranged to face the top sheet portion. The tension member is formed by a metal sheet extending along the width direction of the top sheet portion and being thinner than the sheet thickness of the hollow member, and connects inner surfaces of the pair of sidewall portions facing each other to each other to restrain the distance between the pair of sidewall portions from increasing.

VEHICLE REINFORCEMENT BEAM

A reinforcement beam for a vehicle has an outer beam and an inner beam. The outer beam spans laterally between crush cans of the vehicle. The outer beam forms an elongated hollow body that has a front wall and a rear wall extending along the length of the reinforcement beam. The inner beam is disposed along an intermediate section of the outer beam. The inner beam further includes an upper wall and a lower wall that each extend between the front wall and the rear wall of the outer beam. The front wall and the rear wall may include at least one rib that extends along the length of the outer beam.

DRAWN BODY FOR VEHICLE STRUCTURAL MEMBER, MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR DRAWN BODY FOR VEHICLE STRUCTURAL MEMBER, AND MANUFACTURING APPARATUS FOR DRAWN BODY FOR VEHICLE STRUCTURAL MEMBER

A drawn body for a vehicle structural member has a tensile strength of 980 MPa or more, radii of curvature of two first convex ridge portions, a second convex ridge portion, and a concave ridge portion are each 30 mm or less, a corner radius of a corner wall is 30 mm or less, and a forming depth which is a separation distance between a top sheet portion and an outwardly-extending flange is 40 mm or more.

BUMPER REINFORCEMENT MOUNTING STRUCTURE

A bumper reinforcement mounting structure includes a plurality of vehicle body skeleton members disposed at an interval in a vehicle width direction and extending in a vehicle front-rear direction, a bumper reinforcement that extends in the vehicle width direction and is mounted on the vehicle body skeleton members, and a first mounting member that is used to mount a mounting portion of the bumper reinforcement on one of the vehicle body skeleton members. The first mounting member has shear strength that is lower than shear strength of the mounting portion of the bumper reinforcement.

Structure of underrun protection

A structure of an underrun protection bound to a plurality of brackets disposed at the front or rear portion of a frame of a vehicle is disclosed. A hollow having a closed section is defined by a distal face of a longitudinal direction of the vehicle, a proximal face of the longitudinal direction, an upper face, and a lower face. Lightening holes are formed on at least one of the upper face and the lower face of the underrun protection.

Bumper arrangement with additional support

A bumper arrangement for a motor vehicle, having an upper main cross member, which is able to be coupled via crash boxes to the motor vehicle, and a lower auxiliary cross member, wherein the main cross member and auxiliary cross member are coupled together via vertical struts. The main cross member and/or the auxiliary cross member and/or the vertical element are supported on the crash box and/or on a longitudinal member via at least one additional support element oriented in the direction of the motor vehicle, wherein the support element is configured in one piece and in a single material with the main cross member or the auxiliary cross member or the vertical element.

Bumper-reinforcing system for motor vehicle

A bumper-reinforcing system (1) intended for a motor vehicle includes: a bumper beam (2) with a single-piece elongated profile with a closed cross section and including a center zone (21) extending at least over part of the entire width of the bumper beam and an end zone (22) at each extremity of the bumper beam, two bumper fasteners (3) connected to the rear side of the bumper beam (2) at the intersection between the center zone (21) and the end zone (22) of the bumper beam (2), two reinforcing tubes (4) connected by their first end to the rear side of the end zone (22) of the bumper beam (2), extending from the bumper beam (2) so as to form an angle ? below 45? with the vertical plane of symmetry of the bumper beam and suited to be connected by their other end on the front rail of the vehicle for which the bumper-reinforcing system (1) is provided, and two covers (5) with a single-piece elongated profile with an open cross section, in contact with the rear side of the end zone (22) of the bumper beam (2) and extending at least from the first end of one of the reinforcing tubes (4) to one of the bumper fasteners (3).
