Automobile Steering Wheel
A steering wheel of a vehicle includes a steering wheel armature made of metal, a steering wheel rear cover made of plastic, and an airbag module. The steering wheel rear cover is located on a bottom of the steering wheel armature and the airbag module is mounted above the steering wheel armature. An spring assembles the airbag module onto the armature. At least a supporting rib extends from the steering wheel rear cover and is located between the spring and the steering wheel armature for supporting the spring. The supporting rib erases a gap between the spring and the steering wheel armature and it is formed by plastic, thereby reducing noise efficiently.
AIRBAG DEVICE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
An airbag device includes: an airbag having an inflow opening for introducing an inflation gas and being formed in a folded body; a bag holder attached to a peripheral edge of the inflow opening; an airbag cover attached to the bag holder; and an inflator disposed by inserting an upper side in the folded body from the inflow opening, wherein: the airbag cover has a ceiling wall that covers an upper surface remote from the inflow opening of the folded body; the folded body is equipped with a housing recess that is capable of housing a top of a main body unit of the inflator; a part around the housing recess is supported by the bag holder; and a ceiling surface of the housing recess is formed as a shape in which a clearance is provided between the top of the main body unit of the inserted inflator.
AIR BAG MODULE
The invention relates to an airbag module comprising a housing (14) for an airbag (16) and a cover (12), the housing including a fabric part (14) which at least partly encloses the airbag (16), characterized in that means (20; 30; 60) for fastening the housing (14) which are formed integrally with the cover (12) are provided and in that the fabric part (14) is arranged directly on the fastening means (20; 30; 60).
AIRBAG DEVICE FOR DRIVER'S SEAT
An airbag device for a driver's seat, includes: an inflator; a main body airbag that receives a supply of gas from the inflator and is inflated and expanded at a vehicle rear side of a steering wheel; and an annular airbag that is connected to an outer peripheral portion of a rear surface at a vehicle rear side of the main body airbag, and that receives a supply of gas from the main body airbag and is inflated and expanded from the outer peripheral portion toward a vehicle rear side, and whose inflated and expanded state, as seen from the axial direction rear side of the steering wheel, is formed in an annular shape having an outer diameter that is larger than an outer diameter of the main body airbag and having an inner diameter that is smaller than the outer diameter of the main body airbag.
Steering wheel
A steering wheel enabling suppressing hanging down of an airbag module due to its own weight and stabilizing the position of the airbag module. The steering wheel includes a steering wheel body, an airbag module, and at least one coil spring that biases the airbag module in a direction separating from the steering wheel body. The coil spring is arranged between the steering wheel body and the airbag module in a state with the axis line thereof offset from that of a free state; thereby applying a force on the airbag module in a direction that intersects with the axis line of the coil spring in a free state.
DRIVER AIR BAG WITH SNAP-IN ATTACHMENT MECHANISM
An assembly of a driver airbag module (102) and a steering wheel (104) having an airbag module including a housing (106) and a plurality of loop members (108) extending from the housing (106) and a steering wheel (104) having an armature (120) with a center or hub portion (122) onto which the airbag module (102) is attached. The armature (120) has hook members (110a, 110b, 110c), each hook member having a hook void (190). The hook void (190) is defined by a space above one or two base members (160a, 160b) and below a retaining member (180). The base member (160a, 160b) has a shallow ramped surface extending upwardly to an end wall and the retaining member (180) has a hook surface above the ramped surface and extending to the end wall. The loop member (108) is retained in the hook void (190) between the hook surface (186) and the ramped surface (168).
STEERING WHEEL WITH AN AIRBAG
A steering wheel (10) includes a steering wheel rim (16) and an airbag module (18) accommodated in a hub region (12) of the steering wheel (10) and comprising an airbag (26), wherein an exit opening of the airbag module (18) is located at a position different from an upper side of the steering wheel (10) and beneath the steering wheel rim (16) and the airbag module (18) is disposed so that the airbag (26) deploys through a clearance (22) between the hub region (12) and the steering wheel rim (16) toward the upper side of the steering wheel (10). The airbag (26) comprises a cushion-type restraint chamber (32) and a connecting chamber (34), wherein the restraint chamber (32) covers, in the completely filled state, the steering wheel rim (16) on the occupant side, while the connecting chamber (34) connects the restraint chamber (32) via an inflation orifice disposed on a rear wall (50) of the restraint chamber (32) to a gas generator accommodated in the airbag module (18), wherein the connecting chamber (34) of the airbag (26) includes at least one vent opening (72) to allow filling gas to flow out of the airbag (26) even before it reaches the restraint chamber (32).
