Air bag module
An assembly includes a housing (12) and a cover (20) that define a cavity (15). An air bag (22) is positioned in the cavity (15), and the cover (20) has hooks (46) that engage with the housing (12) to secure the cover (20) to the housing (12). The air bag (22) expands to absorb kinetic energy of a driver. The hooks (46) are energized into engagement with the housing (12) directly or indirectly by the air bag (22) as it expands.
STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG
A steering wheel airbag, arranged to cover a steering wheel when inflation is completed, includes: a front-collision receiving surface which is arranged on a side of a driver when inflation is completed, so as to receive the driver moving forward during a head-on collision of a vehicle, the front-collision receiving surface being arranged substantially along a vertical direction to be tilted with respect to a ring surface of the steering wheel when inflation is completed; and arm restraining parts which are arranged near arms of the driver steering a ring part of the steering wheel on both right and left sides of the front-collision receiving surface when inflation is completed, the arm restraining parts coming into contact with the arms during an oblique collision or an offset collision of the vehicle, so as to prevent a movement of the driver to an obliquely front side.
DRIVER AIRBAG MODULE COUPLING ASSEMBLIES
Airbag module coupling interfaces, assemblies, and related methods. Some embodiments may comprise one or more springs each defining a perimeter comprising at least three sides, wherein a first side of which may extend opposite a second side and may be at least partially angled towards the second side at an acute angle. A third side of the spring may connect the first and second sides. A spring mounting structure may be provided and may comprise a guiding interface for coupling the spring to the steering wheel. An opening in the guiding interface may be configured to receive a coupling prong, which may be configured to engage the third side of the spring.
DRIVER AIRBAG WITH EXTENSION ADJACENT REAR PANEL
An assembly for a vehicle includes a steering wheel. The assembly includes an airbag inflatable to an inflated position. The airbag has a main chamber supported by the steering wheel. The main chamber in the inflated position has a rear panel facing the steering wheel, an impact panel opposite the rear panel, and an outermost periphery between the impact panel and the rear panel. The airbag includes an extension having a first end and a terminal end. The extension extends from the first end to the terminal end adjacent the rear panel of the main chamber. The first end extends from the outermost periphery and the rear panel and the terminal end is connected to the rear panel. The airbag has an inflation chamber extending from the main chamber to the terminal end through the first end of the extension.
AIRBAG DEVICE
An airbag device includes an airbag, an airbag cover and a holder for holding the airbag and airbag cover. The airbag cover includes a door that is openable around a hinge at airbag deployment, and a side wall that is disposed around the door and attached to the holder. A functional component is held by a holding member and disposed in the door. The holding member includes a distal-side connecting portion that is fixed to the functional component, a root-side connecting portion that is secured to the holder, and a deformable portion that is disposed between the distal-side connecting portion and the root-side connecting portion. The deformable portion is configured to be plastically deformed at airbag deployment while having the distal-side connecting portion keep holding the functional component and suppressing a centrifugal force of the functional component from acting on the hinge of the door of the airbag cover.
Steering wheel of a vehicle
A vehicle steering wheel includes a base part such as a frame, at least one added part such as a safety module, at least one centring part, and a regulating device for regulating a position of the added part on the base part. The regulating device includes at least one stud, and at least one impression. The at least one impression is arranged to receive the at least one stud in accordance with a first mounting position or at least one second mounting position, in such a manner as to impose a first position of the added part relative to the base part or to impose a second position of the added part relative to the base part.
AIRBAG DEVICE
Provided is an airbag device including an airbag body having a first base fabric and a second base fabric, wherein the first base fabric and the second base fabric have an outer circumferential section and an outer circumferential section that are joined to each other while overlapping each other, a first base fabric joining section formed by joining a plurality of predetermined portions, spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction of the first base fabric is provided on an outer circumferential side of the first base fabric, and a second base fabric joining section formed by joining a plurality of predetermined portions, spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction of the second base fabric is provided on an outer circumferential side of the second base fabric.
STEERING WHEEL
An airbag device is moved toward mounting portions and pins are inserted into insertion holes. Slopes at the distal end of each pin come into contact with a locking bar, so that the locking bar rotates and enters a longitudinal groove. When the locking bar approaches a back surface of the longitudinal groove, the locking member is rotated by an urging force of the coil spring and enters lateral grooves. Thus, the airbag device is mounted on a steering wheel body.
FRONTAL AIRBAG SYSTEMS
An inflatable airbag system can be configured to be mounted to a frontal region of a vehicle. The inflatable airbag system includes a housing configured to be mounted on a steering wheel of a vehicle and an inflator assembly at least partially disposed within the housing. The inflatable airbag system includes an airbag that receives inflation gas from the inflator assembly to expand and deploy out of the housing from a packaged configuration to a deployed configuration to provide occupant crash protection during a collision event, the airbag defining an inflatable chamber. A diffuser is disposed within the inflatable chamber and is in fluid communication with the inflator assembly. An occupant-facing panel of the diffuser comprises an aperture disposed in the center of the occupant-facing panel of the diffuser.
Driver seat airbag
A driver seat airbag may include: a mounting plate seated on a wheel armature; a cover coupled to the mounting plate so as to be lifted and lowered; an elastic member installed between the mounting plate and the cover to apply an elastic force to the cover; an electrode unit installed in the mounting plate; and a connector installed on the cover and connected to the electrode unit when the cover is lowered.
