OCCUPANT PROTECTION DEVICE
An occupant protecting device provided inside or below a seat cushion of a vehicle seat, comprising an airbag cushion capable of expanding and deploying a seat surface of the seat cushion; and an inflator. The airbag cushion includes a lower panel, an upper panel longer than the lower panel in the front-rear direction of the vehicle seat, and mutually opposing side panels joined to the lower panel and the upper panel. The airbag cushion has a first mounting point attached to the vehicle seat side and a second mounting point attached to the vehicle seat side on the rear side of the first mounting point in the front-rear direction of the vehicle seat. The lower panel and the upper panel are mutually joined to a first mounting point and a second mounting point.
Air bag assembly with an air bag guide and an interior trim component and method for producing the same
An air bag guide for a motor vehicle, includes a molded component defining a guide channel with an exit opening so the air bag can exit from the guide channel. The molded component is a thermoplastic material or a thermoplastic matrix and includes an insert inserted into the molded component. A first section of the insert, connects the insert with the molded component. A second section hingedly connects to the first section that is movable and opens under the action of the air bag upon exiting the guide channel then closes the exit opening. The insert is of the same thermoplastic material as the molded component or includes the same thermoplastic matrix and is self-reinforcing at least in the second section.
Airbag assembly with reduced package size and related method
An airbag assembly for a motor vehicle includes an inflatable airbag and a reinforcing wrapper. The inflatable airbag has a longitudinally extending axis and is rolled about a rotation axis in the stowed condition. The reinforcing wrapper is coupled to the inflatable airbag proximate a first longitudinally extending side of the inflatable airbag, rolled about the rotation axis and wrapped entirely around at least a first portion of the inflatable airbag. The inflatable airbag and the reinforcing wrapper cooperative to define a monotonously rolled portion of the airbag assembly. In certain applications, the reinforcing wrapper is secured to a tab used to hang the inflatable airbag in the motor vehicle.
AIRBAG DEVICE
An airbag device including: a folded airbag; an attachment member configured to houses the folded airbag and to be fixed to the vehicle; and an airbag lid including a main body portion and a protruding support portion. The main body portion is connected to the attachment member in a state of covering the folded airbag from a side opposite to the attachment member. The protruding support portion protrudes from the main body portion. At least a part of the protruding support portion is covered by the trim. The protruding support portion includes: a base end side edge portion joined to the main body portion; a tip end side edge portion provided on a side opposite to the base end side edge portion; a locking portion attaching to the trim; and a reinforcing portion provided continuously along the tip end side edge portion.
LID FOR AIRBAG TETHER DEPLOYMENT IN VEHICLES
A system including an airbag assembly for a vehicle is disclosed. The airbag assembly includes a housing supporting the airbag, an inflation device (“inflator”) in fluid communication with the airbag for inflating the airbag from an uninflated position to an inflated position, a tether fixed to the airbag that helps control the deployment and inflation of the airbag, and a tether lid configured to open in order to release the tether during deployment. The tether lid is installed in a pillar garnish of the vehicle, and is opened in response to the force of the tether as it is pulled by the deploying airbag.
VEHICLE AIRBAG SYSTEMS
A sealed modular trim supplemental side air bag inflatable curtain (SABIC) module assembly includes a SABIC and a vehicle trim assembly encapsulating the SABIC. The SABIC is sealed within the vehicle trim assembly and provided as a complete compact module configured for subsequent attachment to a vehicle roll bar.
Cover device of airbag
A cover device of an airbag including a cover unit formed with first tear lines, and able to be torn along the first tear lines; and a housing unit formed to extend in a direction from a rim of the cover unit, and formed with second tear lines. Portions of the housing unit are torn along the second tear lines and rotate by the cover unit, which is torn and rotates.
Driver seat airbag
A driver seat airbag including a horn plate seated on a steering wheel armature and provided with a plurality of restraint holes; holders disposed in the plurality of restraint holes; restraint clips installed in the plurality of holders to be elastically deformable; a mounting plate seated on the horn plate; and hooks provided to protrude from the mounting plate to correspond to the plurality of restraint holes, inserted into the plurality of restraint holes, and hooked on and restrained by the restraint clips.
Hinge structure for air bag door
The present invention provides a hinge structure for an air bag door. The hinge structure includes a housing disposed inside a crash pad, an air bag disposed inside the housing, an air bag door disposed on a rear surface of the crash pad adjacent to the air bag, a hinge portion disposed on at least a portion of a rear surface of the air bag door, and a scrim member disposed at least a portion of the hinge portion, the housing and the air bag door, all the components constituting an air bag assembly, wherein the hinge portion is constructed so as to break when the air bag door is opened, and the scrim member serves to enable the air bag door to be opened while being connected to the housing after the hinge portion breaks.
Vehicle airbag assembly and associated method of forming
A vehicle airbag assembly includes a vehicle trim panel including at least one door having an outer surface facing a vehicle cabin and an inner surface facing an airbag prior to deployment, In a pre-deployed state the door extends across an opening and is movably coupled to a rim to open upon deployment of the airbag to permit passage of the airbag through the opening. At least one edge of the door has a tear seam that couples the door to the vehicle trim panel. A bridging member is adjacent the inner surface of the door. The bridging member is configured to contact the inner surface at a location away from the rim and support the door in the pre-deployed state. The bridging member extends at least partially across the opening and is movable upon deployment of the airbag such that the airbag is permitted to pass through the opening.
