SPACER FABRIC HAVING HINGE FUNCTION
The present invention relates to a spacer fabric (1) for a motor vehicle, which is composed of a hinge layer (2) and a top layer (5), and the hinge layer (2), at least in sections, has a higher tensile strength and/or higher extensibility. The hinge layer (2) therefore prevents tearing of the spacer fabric (1), wherein the top layer (5) promotes tearing of the spacer fabric (1). The present invention further relates to an airbag cover comprising such a spacer fabric (1).
SIDE AIRBAG DEVICE FOR REAR SEAT
A side airbag device for a rear seat relating to the technique of the present disclosure includes: an airbag module that is provided at an interior of a side garnish that is disposed between a vehicle body side portion and a vehicle transverse direction outer side of a seatback of a rear seat; a tubular flow regulating cloth that is provided at an interior of a side airbag of the airbag module, at a periphery of an inflator; and an airbag door that is provided at the side garnish, and that has a hinge portion and a tear portion at a periphery thereof, and that is pushed by the tubular flow regulating cloth when gas is generated from the inflator, wherein the tubular flow regulating cloth has openings at both ends thereof, and has exhaust holes in a peripheral wall thereof.
Airbag Arrangement and Method for Manufacturing the Same
The invention relates to an airbag arrangement comprising a flap, which closes a passage opening for an airbag, a hinge section along a side of the flap, an chute wall, which is connected to the flap via the hinge section; and a material web, which is partially arranged in the flap and partially in the chute wall, and transverses the hinge section, wherein the material web is molded into the chute wall and is anchored in the material of the chute wall.
Side panel arrangement for a vehicle and vehicle with the side panel arrangement
A side panel arrangement for a vehicle having a cladding arrangement including a first cladding element covering at least one pillar section made from a flexible and/or bendable material, and an airbag module with an inflatable airbag. The airbag module is arranged so as to be concealed behind the first cladding element. A first end side of the first cladding element is configured to border a door opening and to be fastened to the vehicle pillar. The first end side is releasable from the vehicle pillar 4 to create an outlet for the inflating airbag when the airbag module activated, or wherein the outlet for the inflating airbag is created in a base material of the first cladding element.
Spacer fabric having hinge function
A spacer fabric may include a hinge layer, a top layer, and an intermediate layer. The hinge layer may include a first tensile strength and at least one perforation. The top layer may include a second tensile strength. The intermediate layer may include a third tensile strength, and may be arranged between the hinge layer and the top layer. The first tensile strength may be higher than the second tensile strength, and the first tensile strength may be higher than the third tensile strength.
Automotive air bag chute door hinge with variable extension
An air bag chute assembly attaches an air bag module to an automotive instrument panel. An outer collar attaches the assembly to the instrument panel. A tubular chute extends interiorly from the collar to a lower end defining a deployment path for the air bag. A door flap is disposed in an upper end of the chute rotatable from the collar to emerge from the instrument panel. A hinge attaching the door flap to the collar comprises a plurality of S-shaped extendable hinge straps laterally spaced along one edge of the door flap. A first hinge strap proximate one lateral end of the hinge has a first length shorter than a second length of a second hinge strap proximate an opposite lateral end of the hinge, thereby restricting rotation of the door flap at the one lateral end in order to avoid contacting a windshield during deployment.
AIRBAG ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A DEFLECTOR
An airbag assembly for a vehicle that includes a housing, an airbag supported by the housing, a deflector pivotally coupled to the housing, and a lock between the deflector and the housing. The lock is moveable relative to the deflector and the housing from an unlocked position disengaged with at least one of the deflector and the housing to a locked position engaged with both the deflector and the housing. The deflector may allow the airbag to deploy, without deflecting the airbag in response to one type of sensed impact, e.g., a full-width frontal impact, and may deflect the airbag in response to another type of sensed impact, e.g., oblique frontal impact.
Hinge Device for Airbag Door of Vehicle
A hinge device for an airbag door of a vehicle is provided. In particular embodiments, a fabric sheet is made by weaving warp yarns and weft yarns with a plurality of grid spaces and integrally formed on an inner surface of an airbag door. Grid spaces formed in opposite ends of the fabric sheet that are rotated when the airbag door is opened by deployment of an airbag are arranged in a state of being compressed so as to be extensible.
AIRBAG COVER
An airbag cover adapted to be jointed with an airbag housing for covering an airbag housed in the housing. The airbag cover includes a door. In a circumference of the door, there are a hinge region which holds the door as opened, and a tearable region configured to break when pushed by the airbag. The tearable region includes a bridged tear region which includes perforations formed through the airbag cover and bridging regions disposed between the perforations, and is configured to break when the bridging regions break, and a thinned tear region which includes a continuous thinned region and is configured to break when the thinned region breaks. The bridged tear region is disposed at a leading end of the door as opened, distant from the hinge. The thinned tear region is disposed between both ends of the hinge region and both ends of the bridged tear region.
