Automobile interior component
An automotive interior component with an airbag door includes: a core member covering a front pillar and including a hinge part; and a surface member stretched so as to cover a front surface of the core member. The airbag door is a site of the core member partitioned by the hinge part which site is capable of abutting on an airbag. The surface member includes a fold part extending to an outer edge side of a rear surface of the core member so as to cover an edge part connecting between the front surface and the rear surface of the core member. The fold part includes a first fold part not crossing the hinge part and positioned on the airbag door side, and a second fold part bent from the first fold part and crossing the hinge part. The first and second fold parts are stitched with a thread.
Side airbag assembly
A side airbag assembly includes a housing and an airbag in the housing. The housing has a top surface and a panel. The panel has a top end and a hinge connecting the top end to the top surface. The panel has a bottom end and two side ends extending from the top end to the bottom end. The panel has weakened joints at the bottom end and the side ends. The panel is rotatable relative to the top surface from an undeployed position to a generally upright position and the panel abuts the top surface in the generally upright position.
Vehicle airbag door with stress guiding features
A vehicle interior panel for use over a deployable airbag includes a substrate that splits during airbag deployment to form an airbag door on one side of a tear seam that pivots away from another portion of the substrate on an opposite side of the tear seam. One or more relief lines are formed in the substrate in a manner that allows the airbag door to preferentially bend along each relief line during airbag deployment. This bending concentrates forces from the deploying airbag to particular and sequential portions of the tear seam to improve tear seam function.
AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
The invention relates to an airbag assembly comprising an airbag through-opening arranged over the chute channel of the airbag, which opening is closed by at least one airbag flap and an, in particular sprayed-on, covering made of plastic and secured over the airbag flap, wherein the covering has at least one target break line at the edge of the airbag flap in order to enable the unfolding of the airbag cushion, and wherein the airbag flap is connected via a joining point to a flap support wall in a moulded manner, which is in contact with the inner side of the chute channel wall in a secured manner, wherein am additional flat element is inserted (as a cover) in the chute channel between the airbag cushion and the airbag flap, which flat element at least partially overs the airbag flap and the inner side of the chute channel wall.
AIRBAG CHUTE ASSEMBLY
An airbag chute assembly for an automotive vehicle includes a rigid chute frame, a door, and at least one hinge interconnecting the door to the rigid chute frame, wherein, the rigid chute frame and the door are unitarily injection molded from a single material.
Airbag Flap System Having Peripheral Depressions of Variable Material Thickness
The subject matter of the invention is an airbag flap system for triggering an airbag of a vehicle dashboard in a fragment-free manner at sub-zero temperatures, having: a lid assembly which points towards a vehicle interior and which comprises a polymer, wherein the lid assembly has a frame body having at least one flap segment which has peripheral depressions; wherein the peripheral depressions generate at least one rectangular basic structure; and a deployment chute assembly which is connected to the lid assembly and comprises a polymer, wherein the deployment chute assembly has a main body and at least one flap body; wherein the main body is configured so as to cover the frame body, and wherein the at least one flap body is configured so as to cover the at least one flap segment; wherein the peripheral depressions of the rectangular basic structures of the lid assembly have at least two different material thicknesses.
The present invention also relates to a lid assembly for the afore-mentioned airbag flap system. The present invention furthermore relates to a deployment chute assembly for the afore-mentioned airbag flap system.
AIRBAG ASSEMBLY WITH RELEASABLE PANEL
An assembly for a vehicle includes interior component and a panel rotatably connected to the interior component. The assembly includes an actuator designed to rotate the panel relative to the interior component. A sheet extends from the interior component to the panel. An airbag is supported by the interior component and is inflatable to an inflated position adjacent the sheet.
DEPLOYABLE PANEL FOR AN AIRBAG
An assembly includes an interior component. The assembly includes a deployable panel having an upper panel and a lower panel supported by the interior component, the deployable panel being movable relative to the interior component from a retracted position to an extended position. The assembly includes a hinge between the upper panel and the lower panel. The assembly includes an airbag inflatable to an inflated position in which the airbag is positioned to abut the upper panel in the extended position.
Support for roof-mounted airbag
A module for a vehicle including a roof and a cabin includes a housing defining a chamber and having an opening in fluid communication with the chamber. The housing is configured for placement in the roof. An airbag is provided in the chamber and is inflatable to a deployed condition extending through the opening into the cabin. A door pivotably connected to the housing closes the opening. The door is pivotable away from the roof in response to deployment of the airbag to provide a reaction surface for the deploying airbag. The door has a first length while closing the opening and a second length greater than the first length when pivoted away from the roof.
