The grab box includes a box body and a lid portion that is movable rearward. The lid portion is moved rearward by a pressing force from the airbag when the bag is deployed. A bulging opening that inflates the airbag upward is formable between a rear wall portion of the instrument panel and the lid portion. The deployed airbag is supported by the lid portion that has moved rearward, the instrument panel located in front of the lid portion, and a windshield located above the instrument panel.

A vehicle airbag system, comprises: (A) a housing comprising an opening, (B) an airbag, configured to expand from a stowed state to a deployed state in response to a trigger, wherein the airbag: (i) is located inside the housing while in the stowed state, and (ii) extends out of the opening while expanding to the deployed state, and (C) a hinged door, configured to: extend across the opening to close the opening while the airbag is in the stowed state, and pivot away from the opening due to the airbag expanding to the deployed state.

A structural object mounting structure of the disclosure is a structural object mounting structure for mounting a structural object on an instrument panel on a front passenger seat side of a vehicle. The structural object mounting structure includes a moving mechanism that moves the structural object in such a manner as not to prevent an airbag of a front passenger seat airbag device that has been inflated and deployed from being deployed.
