Vehicle occupant safety system
A vehicle occupant restraint device comprises a control unit and a group of at least two matched airbags (20, 24; 22, 26) for the protection of a vehicle occupant (10; 16) on a particular vehicle seat (12; 16). The control unit is arranged and the airbags (20, 24; 22, 26) are disposed and designed so that, in a collision case, the control unit differentiates between a first situation in which the vehicle occupant (10; 16) is located in a standard distance area relative to a first airbag (20; 22) and a second situation in which the vehicle occupant (10; 16) is located in a rear area which is further distant from the first airbag (20; 22) than the standard distance area. When the first situation is given, the control unit activates the first airbag (20; 22) only. In contrast, when the second situation is given, the control unit activates the first airbag (20; 22) and additionally at least a second airbag (24; 26) of the group, with the first airbag (20; 22) backing the second airbag (24; 26).
SIDE AIRBAG FOR VEHICLE
A side airbag for a vehicle includes: a main cushion located at a seat of the vehicle and configured to be unfolded at a front side of a passenger to a front of the vehicle when gas is injected into the main cushion; a sub cushion connected to a front-end portion of the main cushion and configured to be unfolded from the front-end portion of the main cushion toward the passenger when gas is injected into the sub cushion; a support tether having a first end connected to the seat and a second end connected to the sub cushion so as to support the sub cushion; and a cushion cover surrounding both the main cushion and the sub cushion, and having a tether slit through which the support tether passes.

A side airbag apparatus may include: an inflator configured to discharge gas; and a cushion deployed to one side of a passenger by the gas discharged from the inflator, and having a main chamber and a push chamber, which are formed therein, wherein the push chamber is inflated to protrude from the main chamber toward an indoor side, and pushes up an arm the passenger, wherein the cushion comprises a first panel disposed at a side surface of a vehicle body; a second panel stacked on an indoor side of the first panel, and configured to form the main chamber and the push chamber with the first panel; and a tether member inserted between the first and second panels, having one end coupled to the first panel and the other end coupled to the second panel.
AIRBAG APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE
An airbag apparatus for a vehicle is proposed. The airbag apparatus is configured to protect an occupant from an impact during a vehicle collision, to restrain the occupant to minimize occupant injuries, and to have improved storage performance to reduce a seat package volume.

A seat airbag device for a vehicle is proposed. The seat airbag device for a vehicle includes: a main chamber located in a vehicle seat at a side portion of an occupant and configured to be deployed toward a front portion of the vehicle when gas is injected thereinto; a sub-chamber connected to a front end of the main chamber and configured to be deployed in a direction intersecting a deployment direction of the main chamber when the gas is injected thereinto; and an expansion portion expanded from the front end of the main chamber and connected to an upper portion or a lower portion of the sub-chamber.

A vehicle airbag system is proposed, The vehicle airbag system includes: a front airbag mounted to a portion of a vehicle at front of a passenger and configured to be unfolded toward front of the passenger; an upper airbag mounted to a portion of the vehicle above the passenger and configured to be unfolded toward front of the passenger; a seat detector configured to detect a seating posture of the passenger; and a controller configured to control unfolding of the front airbag or the upper airbag on the basis of the passenger's seating posture detected by the seat detector.

A vehicle airbag device including a curtain airbag inflated and deployed from a vehicle width direction outer side end portion of a ceiling toward a vehicle lower side by gas being supplied into the curtain airbag from an inflator actuated in a vehicle collision to generate the gas; and a front passenger seat airbag inflated and deployed in front of a front passenger seat by gas being supplied into the front passenger seat airbag from an inflator actuated in a vehicle collision to generate the gas, including a first side-wall and a vent hole. The first side-wall configures a vehicle width direction outer side location of the front passenger seat airbag, includes an abutting portion that abuts the curtain airbag when inflated and deployed, and is spaced apart from a front pillar garnish. The vent hole is provided in the first side-wall on the front pillar garnish side.
Occupant protecting device for vehicle
An occupant protecting device for a vehicle has a knee airbag that is disposed at a seat front side of a vehicle seat, and that, at a time of a front collision of a vehicle, deploys, and restrains leg portions of a vehicle occupant seated in the vehicle seat. A foot airbag is disposed at the seat front side of the vehicle seat. At a time of a front collision of the vehicle, when a seat front-rear direction position of the vehicle seat is disposed further toward a rear side than a predetermined position, the foot airbag deploys between the knee airbag and the leg portions of the vehicle occupant seated in the vehicle seat, and restrains the leg portions of the vehicle occupant seated in the vehicle seat.

A vehicle includes a front bulkhead. The vehicle includes an airbag inflatable from an uninflated position to an inflated position adjacent the bulkhead. The vehicle includes a track fixed relative to the bulkhead. The vehicle includes a slider fixed to the airbag and slidable along the track between a first position when the airbag is in the uninflated position and a second position when the airbag is in the inflated position.
