AIRBAG SAFETY SYSTEM FOR A TWO-WHEELED VEHICLE
20170232921 · 2017-08-17 ·

An airbag safety system is provided with two or more safety airbags which can be adjoined to protect the rider when a crash occurs. A stabilizing mechanism is used to cause the inflated airbags to adjoin each other so as to form a stable protection space between the vehicle and the adjoined airbags. The adjoined airbags are shaped to meet a rider's ergonomics, making sure the rider can be caped for head protection and can be protected within the space surrounded by the airbags from being thrown away off the vehicle and subject to serious injuries.

Active bolster

An active bolster for a vehicle is provided, wherein the bolster comprises an expansible hollow interior that is inflatable and is self-supporting in both an inflated and in an uninflated position. The bolster has an inflator module for inflating the expansible hollow interior. The bolster has an inner wall for projecting inwardly into the vehicle and away from the side of the vehicle on inflation of the expansible hollow interior. The bolster may have a relatively non-expansible component located between a first expansible chamber and a second expansible chamber. The bolster may comprise an outer wall having an attachment portion for attaching the outer wall to a portion of the side of the vehicle.

Passive restraint system

A restraint system includes an instrument panel, a passenger airbag chamber supported by the instrument panel, and a secondary airbag chamber. The passenger airbag chamber is inflatable to an inflated position and in the inflated position includes a rear face spaced from the instrument panel and a side face extending from the rear face toward the instrument panel. The secondary airbag chamber is external to the passenger airbag and, in an inflated position, extends along the side face and the rear face of the passenger airbag chamber.

MULTIPLE AIRBAG CONFIGURATION WITH REACTION SURFACE AIRBAG

Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses, systems, and methods for supportably deploying an occupant restraint airbag. In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus includes an occupant restraint airbag configured to be deployable between an occupant of a vehicle and a forward structure of a vehicle interior. The occupant restraint airbag presents an occupant surface to engage at least a portion of a body of the occupant and a back surface on an opposing side of the occupant restraint airbag responsive to inflation thereof. A reaction surface airbag is deployable between the occupant restraint airbag and an interior surface of the vehicle. The reaction surface airbag presents a first surface configured to engage the back surface of the occupant restraint airbag and a second surface to engage the interior surface responsive to inflation of the reaction surface airbag. The reaction surface airbag resists movement of the occupant restraint airbag toward the interior surface.

Seatback supported airbags releasably connected by a buckle and clip

An assembly for a vehicle includes a seat. The assembly includes a first airbag and a second airbag each supported by the seat. The first airbag and the second airbag are inflatable to an inflated position. The assembly includes a buckle fixed to one of the first airbag and the second airbag and a clip fixed to the other of the first airbag and the second airbag. The clip is releasably connected to the buckle. The assembly includes a non-inflatable panel having a joint fixed to the first airbag and a releasable fastener releasably connected to the second airbag.

Airbag Apparatus

An airbag device capable of restraining a motor vehicle occupant in a stable position even in an oblique collision. The airbag device includes a bag-shaped main bag inflated and deployed on a vehicle front side of the passenger seat, a bag-shaped center bag inflated and deployed on the inner side of the main bag in the vehicle widthwise direction, and a slit that provides a separation between the main bag and the center bag on the vehicle rear side. A rear end part of the center bag is inclined to gradually protrude rearward in the vehicle as the rear end part is extended upward and protrudes further to the vehicle rear side than at least the main bag.

Vehicle side curtain airbag device having front protection function

A vehicle side curtain airbag device having front protection function, comprising a side airbag (1) and an auxiliary airbag (2) connected to one side surface of the side airbag (1) and arranged in a left/right transverse direction after being expanded; a dividing hole membrane (3) is disposed between the side airbag (1) and the auxiliary airbag (2); the dividing hole membrane (3) is ensured to be opened only when the internal pressure of the side airbag (1) reaches a certain value, thus realizing self-adaptive opening threshold adjustment, controlling the instant of inflation and inflation speed of the auxiliary airbag (2), and adjusting the stiffness of the auxiliary airbag (2). When a vehicle has a collision, the device protects the head and neck of a passenger in both side collision and front collision traffic accidents, thus effectively absorbing the collision impact energy of the passenger, and reducing injury to the passenger.

An occupant restraining device capable of coping with a plurality of collision directions without additional airbags is provided. An occupant restraining device (100) is adapted to restrain an occupant P sitting in a vehicle seat (110), and the device includes a seatbelt (120) fixed to left and right sides of a seat cushion (116) of the seat to restrain the occupant's hips (P2), airbags (130a) and (130b) stored inside a seat back of the seat on the left and right sides thereof and inflated and deployed on the left and right sides of the occupant. Tensile fabric (140) is connected to each of the airbags and the seat cushion and applied with tension, when the airbags are inflated and deployed, so as to be extended between the airbags inflated and deployed and both side surfaces of the seat cushion.

An occupant restraint system for a seat of a vehicle. The occupant restraint system includes at least a first airbag deployable and at least a first tensioning member. The first airbag is deployable from the seat. The first tensioning member has a first portion for receiving inflation gases and a second portion attachable to the seat at a mounting location. The tensioning member including a least a first webbing elongated between the first portion and the second portion. The first webbing is at least partially constructed of a first inflatable tubular webbing adapted to receive inflation gases for tensioning the tensioning member and delivering inflation gases to the airbag upon airbag deployment.

Vehicle Safety Seat
20170259704 · 2017-09-14 ·

A vehicle safety seat for protecting a vehicle occupant from injury due to impact and airborne debris, in the event of a collision. The vehicle safety seat includes a seat bottom, a backrest, and a headrest, wherein the seat is secured to a frame. The frame is pivotally secured to the floor and frame of a vehicle, wherein the seat can recline immediately in advance of a collision for absorbing impact forces. The safety seat further includes telescoping shields that are retractably secured to the lateral sides of the seat bottom, backrest, and headrest. The shields are projected from the safety seat, creating a protective cocoon around the seat occupant prior to a collision. The seat is operably connected to one or more sensors that can detect an imminent collision between the vehicle and another object, wherein a pneumatic system deploys the shields and an electro-mechanical system reclines the seat.
