OCCUPANT PROTECTION DEVICE
An occupant protection device includes: an airbag including an upper inflating portion and a lower inflating portion, and a rear inflating portion having a restraint surface that receives the occupant, the airbag being provided with a hollow portion penetrating in a left-right direction in a center; and a protrusion length adjustment unit configured to adjust a protrusion length from the accommodation position to the restraint surface in the airbag. An exhaust port configured to exhaust the inflation gas is disposed on an inner peripheral surface side in the vicinity of an intersection portion between the upper inflation portion and the lower inflation portion of the airbag. When the protrusion length by the protrusion length adjustment unit is adjusted to be long, the upper inflation portion and the lower inflation portion approach each other, so that an edge member approaches the exhaust port, thereby reducing an exhaust amount.
AIRBAG
An airbag includes: a bag main body: and regulating units configured to regulate an expansion completed shape of the bag main body. The bag main body has an expansion completed shape as a substantially square cylindrical shape, where a hollow portion which penetrates substantially along a left-right direction is provided and a circumference of the hollow portion is surrounded by an upper expansion portion and a lower expansion portion and a front expansion portion and a rear expansion portion. The regulating units are arranged at a plurality of horizontally symmetrical locations centered on a center of the bag main body on the left-right directional side and each of the regulating units is configured to straddle the hollow portion when viewed from a lateral side in the left-right direction and at least an upper edge side and a lower edge side are connected to the bag main body side.
ROOF AIRBAG FOR VEHICLES
A roof airbag for vehicles is proposed. The roof airbag includes: a main chamber configured to be deployed as gas is introduced therein through a diffuser; an overlap chamber into which the gas is introduced and configured to be deployed into a shape that overlaps the main chamber around the diffuser; and a support chamber into which the gas is introduced and configured to be deployed while overlapping a roof frame.
Occupant protection device
An occupant protection device which is configured to protect an occupant seated on a seat, includes a seat belt, an airbag, and an inflator configured to supply inflation gas to the airbag. The airbag has a bag shape formed of a flexible sheet body, the airbag is folded and stored in a storage part provided in a lap belt, the airbag is inflated so as to project toward a front upper side when the inflation gas flows into the airbag, and the airbag has a substantially triangular prism shape whose axial direction is substantially aligned with a left-right direction so as to include a leg abutting surface which is capable of abutting an upper surface of a leg of the occupant and an upper body restraining surface which is capable of restraining the occupant from a chest to a head, when the airbag is completely inflated.
Self-conforming rearseat air bag
An apparatus (10) for helping to protect an occupant (20) of a vehicle (12) having a seat (16 or 22) for receiving the occupant (20) includes an inflatable protection device (14) inflatable from a stored condition in the vehicle (12) adjacent a reaction surface (19, 23, 36) to a deployed condition between the reaction surface and the vehicle occupant (20). The protection device (14) includes a front portion (62) presented toward the seat (22) and an inflatable volume for receiving a penetrating occupant (20′) when the protection device (14) is in the deployed condition. A rear portion (64) connected to the front portion (62) has an inflatable volume spaced from the front portion (62) by a space (110). The front portion (62) is positioned between the vehicle occupant (20) and the rear portion (64) when the protection device (14) is in the deployed condition. The inflated front portion (62) is movable in a fore-aft direction relative to the rear portion (64) to engage the occupant (20) regardless of the distance between the reaction surface (19, 23, 36) and the occupant (20).
Front airbag with hollow portion
Occupant protection device
An occupant protection device includes an airbag which is deployed and inflated with an amount of protrusion from a storage position to a rear side in an inflation completed state in a large protrusion amount mode and a small protrusion amount mode, and the airbag includes a bag body and a tether. The tether is connected to a length adjustment unit. The bag body has a tubular inflation portion curved in a substantially U shape from the storage position toward the tether connection portion. A shape of the bag body in the large protrusion amount mode is defined such that the tether connection portion is further moved rearward with respect to the inlet port on the inner peripheral surface side, as compared with the case of the small protrusion amount mode.
Restraint system
A restraint system includes a first plate, a second plate rotatably coupled to the first plate and rotatable away from the first plate from an undeployed position to a deployed position, a panel connected to the first plate and to the second plate, and a pyrotechnic activator coupled to the second plate. The panel is flexible relative to the first plate and the second plate. The first plate, the second plate, and the panel form a chamber having an interior volume. The pyrotechnic activator is arranged to, when discharged, rotate the second plate from the undeployed position toward the deployed position. One of the first plate or the second plate includes a vent hole in communication with the interior volume of the chamber.
Airbag cushion with flexible diffusor- and tether arrangement and method for its production
An airbag cushion comprising a back panel having an inflator opening, a front panel connected to the back panel by an edge connection, and a flexible diffusor- and tether arrangement having a diffusing function and tethering function. The diffusor section spans over the inflator opening and is connected with the back panel via a back panel connection having a first and second end point, such that the diffusor section has a first outlet region extending between the first and second end point and the back panel has a first outlet region extending between the first and second end point, such that a first gas outlet is formed between the first outlet region of the diffusor section and the first outlet region of the back panel. The tether section extends from a first end region connected to the diffusor section to a second end region connected to the front panel.
