A passenger protection device includes an airbag case to be provided in an arm rest of a vehicle seat, and an airbag; wherein the airbag case has a passenger-side wall that is a cover that can rotate upward around its upper end; the device comprises support members that lie flat on a passenger-side surface of the cover and can assume an upright orientation; and if the vehicle collides at one side, the airbag is inflated and deployed outside the airbag case through the opening made in a passenger-side of the arm rest and pushes the cover, thereby rotating the cover upward, the support members may stand on the airbag case, supporting the cover rotated upward from back in an upright orientation.

A passenger protecting device including: an airbag device including an airbag that receives a supply of gas from an inflator and is inflated and expanded, by a front expanding portion that includes a front inflating portion to be inflated and expanded at a seat front side of the head portion and at least one of a chest portion and shoulder portions of the passenger, and a pair of left and right lateral expanding portions that include lateral inflating portions that are connected to the front expanding portion and are inflated and expanded at sides of the head portion of the passenger; and a position changing device that changes an inflated and expanded position of the airbag in a seat transverse direction, in accordance with a direction of collision of a collision body with respect to the vehicle seat.

The present disclosure provides a headliner assembly for a vehicle. The headliner assembly includes a base panel and a cover layer disposed below the base panel. The base panel includes an edge in a length direction of the vehicle and a portion adjacent to the edge and having a plurality of notches. The cover layer has an edge extending beyond the edge of the base panel.

A vehicle occupant protection device includes: an airbag structured as a single bag that is configured to cover a head area of a vehicle occupant, the airbag being stowed at a headrest or seatback of a vehicle seat, the airbag receiving a gas supply and inflating and expanding toward a seat front side, and the airbag including a front inflation portion that is configured to be inflated at the seat front relative to the head area and a left and right pair of side inflation portions that are connected to the front inflation portion and configured to be inflated at seat sides relative to the head area; and an opening portion that is provided at the airbag, is configured to cover the head area from the seat front side or a seat side, and is openable after the inflation and expansion of the airbag.

A vehicle side airbag device includes: an inflator for generating gas by activation; a bag body provided in a side portion of a seatback of a vehicle seat and configured to be inflated and deployed toward a vehicle front side relative to the side portion when the gas is supplied thereinside; and a partition portion partitioning the bag body into a front bag portion and a rear bag portion to be inflated at a higher pressure than the front bag portion and having a thicker inflation width in a vehicle width direction than that of the front bag portion, the partition portion being overlapping with a central part of a shoulder of a sitting occupant in an inflated and deployed state in a side view.

A vehicle includes an occupant seating area and a body side having a first pillar and a second pillar disposed vehicle-forward of the first pillar. An airbag is mounted to the first pillar and inflatable to an inflated position. The airbag includes a side lobe extending from the first pillar toward the second pillar in the inflated position. The airbag includes a front lobe extending cross-vehicle from the side lobe vehicle-forward of the occupant seating area in the inflated position.

A head-protecting airbag device includes: an airbag body; and a connecting piece which is formed of a sheet material with flexibility, wherein: the airbag body and the connecting piece constitute an airbag having a bag shape inflatable to cover an inboard side of a window of a vehicle; the airbag body includes an inboard side wall disposed on the inboard side at the time of inflation completion, an outboard side wall disposed on an outboard side, and a coupling target portion coupling the connecting piece; the coupling target portion is configured to be divided into an inboard side portion and an outboard side portion; and the root end of the connecting piece is nipped between the inboard side portion and the outboard side portion, and is coupled with the inboard side portion and the outboard side portion so as to be connected with the airbag body.

A vehicle control device that includes: an airbag device including an airbag, the airbag being configured as an integral bag body for surrounding a head of an occupant with a front deployment section including a front inflation section that is inflated and deployed in front of a seat corresponding to the head and at least one of shoulders or a chest of the occupant, and a left and right pair of lateral deployment sections including lateral inflation sections that are connected to the front deployment section and are inflated and deployed at sides of the head of the occupant; and a controller that, after the airbag device has been actuated, executes a drive-to-refuge mode in which driving of a power unit of a vehicle and steering of a steering system are controlled to drive the vehicle to take refuge at a road shoulder.

A vehicle seat assembly installed in a cabin of a vehicle having a vehicle seat and a side airbag device; the vehicle seat having a seat back and a seat base; the seat back connected to the seat base in a manner movable relative to the seat base in the front-rear direction of the vehicle. The side airbag device arranged on the vehicle seat including: a first side airbag and a second side airbag not in fluid communication with each other and configured to be unfolded between the vehicle seat and the side wall of the vehicle when in an inflated state; a controller for determining the orientation of the vehicle seat and detecting an impact signal to output a control signal; and a gas generator for generating gas on the basis of the control signal of the controller to inflate the first side airbag or second side airbag.

The present disclosure provides a vehicle including a frame having a side sill reinforcement, the side sill reinforcement running along a length of a side of the frame, and an impact transmission structure mounted to and extending laterally outward from an exterior surface of the side sill reinforcement, the impact transmission structure having a stiffness approximately equal to a stiffness of the side sill reinforcement and being configured to communicate an impact force resulting from a side impact into the vehicle into the frame and not absorb the impact force.
