AIRBAG UNIT
An airbag unit includes a seat, a pair of side airbags, a seat state detector, and an airbag deployment controller. The seat is reversely rotatable in a front-rear direction of a vehicle. The pair of side airbags are expansive and deployable, and incorporated in the seat on respective sides of the seat in a width direction of the vehicle. The seat state detector detects a rearward-oriented state of the seat, i.e., a state in which the seat is rearward-oriented in the front-rear direction. The airbag deployment controller performs a deployment control of the pair of side airbags, on a condition that the seat state detector detects the rearward-oriented state of the seat. The airbag deployment controller performs the deployment control in a reverse sequence from a deployment control in a frontward-oriented state of the seat, i.e., a state in which the seat is frontward-oriented in the front-rear direction.
Vehicle side curtain airbag device having front protection function
A vehicle side curtain airbag device having front protection function, comprising a side airbag (1) and an auxiliary airbag (2) connected to one side surface of the side airbag (1) and arranged in a left/right transverse direction after being expanded; a dividing hole membrane (3) is disposed between the side airbag (1) and the auxiliary airbag (2); the dividing hole membrane (3) is ensured to be opened only when the internal pressure of the side airbag (1) reaches a certain value, thus realizing self-adaptive opening threshold adjustment, controlling the instant of inflation and inflation speed of the auxiliary airbag (2), and adjusting the stiffness of the auxiliary airbag (2). When a vehicle has a collision, the device protects the head and neck of a passenger in both side collision and front collision traffic accidents, thus effectively absorbing the collision impact energy of the passenger, and reducing injury to the passenger.
Vehicle Occupant Restraint Device
An occupant restraining device capable of coping with a plurality of collision directions without additional airbags is provided. An occupant restraining device (100) is adapted to restrain an occupant P sitting in a vehicle seat (110), and the device includes a seatbelt (120) fixed to left and right sides of a seat cushion (116) of the seat to restrain the occupant's hips (P2), airbags (130a) and (130b) stored inside a seat back of the seat on the left and right sides thereof and inflated and deployed on the left and right sides of the occupant. Tensile fabric (140) is connected to each of the airbags and the seat cushion and applied with tension, when the airbags are inflated and deployed, so as to be extended between the airbags inflated and deployed and both side surfaces of the seat cushion.
SEAT AIRBAG APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE
A seat airbag apparatus for a vehicle is disclosed. A side cushion is deployed so as to protrude forward from a seatback in order to protect the lateral sides of an occupant, and a front cushion is deployed so as to protrude from the side cushion to the front of the occupant in order to protect the front side of the occupant. The deployment of the side cushion and the front cushion is limited by an upper dual-surface tether structure, formed by an upper-side surface tether and an upper-front surface tether, and a lower dual-surface tether structure, formed by a lower-side surface tether and a lower-front surface tether, thereby increasing force with which movement of the occupant is restricted, thus further enhancing an occupant protection effect.
Airbag inflation restraint with releasable extension
An assembly for a vehicle includes an airbag inflatable to an inflated position. The airbag includes a first panel, a second panel, and an inflation chamber between the first panel and the second panel. The assembly includes an inflation restraint exterior to the inflation chamber. The inflation restraint includes a first end fixed to the first panel and a second end fixed to the second panel. The inflation restraint includes a releasable extension between the first end and the second end. The releasable extension is movable from an unreleased position to a released position as the airbag inflates to the inflated position.
ROOF-MOUNTED OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to a method for imaging an optical signal received by a graded index (GRIN) optical element to account for known variations in a graded index distribution of the GRIN optical element. The method may involve using a plurality of optical detector elements to receive optical rays received by the GRIN optical element at a plane, where the plane forms a part of the GRIN optical element or is downstream of the GRIN optical element relative to a direction of propagation of the optical rays. The optical rays are then traced to a plurality of additional specific locations on the plane based on the known variations in the graded index distribution of the GRIN optical element. A processor may be used to determine information on both an intensity and an angle of the received optical rays at each one of the plurality of specific locations on the plane of the GRIN optical element.
VEHICULAR AIRBAG DEVICE
The present invention relates to a vehicular airbag device provided with a configuration comprising: an airbag cushion which is formed in a shawl shape so as to surround and restrict the entire upper body around both shoulders of an occupant as well as the abdominal and pelvic regions in the event of a vehicle collision, and deployed toward both side surfaces of the occupant; and a limiting means which is installed in first and second cushions of the airbag cushion deployed at both sides of the occupant, and provides a supporting force and limits the deployment shape of the first and second cushions at the time of deployment of the first and second cushions. According to the present invention, both side surfaces and the front surface of the occupant are efficiently restricted by improving the lateral strength of the airbag cushion to safely protect the occupant in the event of a vehicle collision.
AIRBAG APPARATUS
An airbag apparatus includes two airbags. The airbags are respectively accommodated in side accommodation portions in a seat back. The airbags include two side inflation portions and two front inflation portions. Each airbag further includes a tether. Each airbag includes a non-inflation portion. Each tether includes a pass-through section at which the tether is passed through the non-inflation portion. A portion of each tether between the pass-through section and a distal end is arranged along a rear surface of the front inflation portion. A portion of each tether between the pass-through section and a basal end is arranged along an inner surface of the side inflation portion. The basal end of each tether is configured to be fixed to a rear end of the side inflation portion or the seat back. The distal end of each tether is fixed to a front end of the front inflation portion.
Seat assembly with full seatback airbag
A seatback carrier module includes first and second side portions spaced-apart from one another and interconnected by an upper portion. A cradle portion is disposed along the first and second side portions and the upper portion of the seatback carrier module. The cradle portion includes inner and outer edges with a rearwardly extending body portion. A mounting portion is disposed along a portion of the inner edge of the cradle portion. The mounting portion includes inner and outer edges with a body portion disposed therebetween. The mounting portion further includes a rearwardly extending sidewall disposed along the inner edge of the mounting portion. An airbag assembly is received within the cradle portion and has an inverted U-shaped configuration to substantially surround the outer perimeter of the seatback frame. The airbag assembly is an elongate member defining an overhead airbag assembly.
Side airbag apparatus
A far side side airbag device provided on the side part in the center in the width direction of a backrest portion of either of separated seats arranged in the width direction of a vehicle, which restrains the movement of an occupant. A cushion and an inflator expands and deploys the cushion. The cushion has a first portion and a second portion that expand and deploy onto the front surface of each of the adjacent separated seats when a signal is received to restrain the occupant and capture the side part of the occupant, and a center portion provided in between the first portion and the second portion. A protruding part is formed on the center portion in order to capture the head of the occupant.
