ROOF AIRBAG APPARATUS
A roof airbag apparatus may include: a cushion configured to cover a roof when deployed; a pair of guides having a length in the deployment direction of the cushion, and configured to guide both sides of the cushion in the deployment direction; and a deployment resistance reducer having a connector connected to one end of each of the guides so as to apply an elastic force from a first location toward the rear, wherein the connector is moved to a second location in a front of the first location by frictional resistance which is applied to the guide when the cushion is deployed.
Roof airbag apparatus
A roof airbag apparatus according to the present disclosure includes: an airbag main body which is deployed from a roof of a vehicle by gas generated by an inflator part when the vehicle collides; a tether operation part which is mounted to the airbag main body, and has a tether; and an auxiliary airbag which is connected to the airbag main body, and deployed from the airbag main body when the connection with the tether is released.
AIRBAG DEVICE FOR PANORAMA ROOF
An airbag device for a panorama roof including: a panorama roof; a blind disposed under the panorama roof, and configured to open/close the panorama roof; and a roof airbag embedded in a head liner, and deployed under the blind so as to cover the panorama roof
ROOF-MOUNTED OCCUPANT SAFETY SYSTEM FOR 360 DEGREE PROTECTION
An airbag for helping to protect an occupant of a vehicle having a roof and a cabin with a seat for the occupant includes an upper portion for being mounted to a vehicle roof, a lower portion having a ring-shaped configuration configured to encircle the occupant and a seatback of the vehicle seat when deployed, and at least one pillar connecting the lower portion to the upper portion. The lower portion encircles the seatback configures the lower portion to utilize the seatback as a reaction surface for supporting the lower portion against movement in response to an impacting occupant. An airbag module includes a housing that supports the airbag and an inflator. A vehicle safety system includes a sensor and a controller. The sensor senses the occurrence of an event for which deployment of the airbag is desired and produces a signal indicative thereof. The controller is connected to the sensor and, in response to receiving the signal, actuates the inflator to inflate and deploy the airbag.
Airbag device for panorama roof
An airbag device for a panorama roof may include: a roller disposed under a panorama roof and having a blind wound therearound, the blind serving to cover the panorama roof; a head liner covering the roller; an inflator disposed at sides of the panorama roof; a guide tunnel connected to the inflator to guide gas; and a cushion connected to the guide tunnel, and deployed by gas guided through the guide tunnel so as to cover the panorama roof.
Airbag
An airbag includes a body and a redirecting cloth that is composed of a sheet material having flexibility and disposed inside the body. The redirecting cloth includes an inlet port for taking in an inflation gas; one or more outlet ports that release the inflation gas as flown from the inlet port towards predetermined regions of the body; and a sew region that sews first and second terminal edges of the sheet material together. Each of the first and second terminal edges of the sheet material includes a turned-and-sewn region that has been turned inward and sewn. At least a part of the sew region is formed by sewing terminals of the turned-and-sewn regions together.
Deployable roof containment system and method
One general aspect includes a deployable containment system for a vehicle roof panel, the system including: a pair of guide channels proximate to an opening through the vehicle roof panel, each guide channel of the pair having a first end and a second end; a housing mounted to the first end of the pair of guide channels. The deployable containment system also includes a shield configured to deploy from the housing and travel along the pair of guide channels so as to cover at least a portion of the opening. The deployable containment system also includes an actuator disposed proximate to the pair of guide channels, the actuator configured to deploy the shield from the housing after a deployment event.
ROOF AIRBAG APPARATUS
A roof airbag apparatus including a rear cushion unit deployed from a rear part toward a front part of a roof when gas is supplied, and covering a rear region of the roof; a front cushion unit coupled to a front end of the rear cushion unit to communicate therewith, deployed forward when the rear cushion unit is deployed, and covering a front region of the roof; a pair of guide bars guiding left and right ends of the rear cushion unit and the front cushion unit at left and right sides of the roof; and a pair of connection members coupled to front ends of the guide bars in a state in which the pair of connection members are fixed to the front part of the roof, and decoupled from the guide bars and deploying the front cushion unit downward when a front collision sensing signal is transferred.
ROOF-MOUNTED OCCUPANT RESTRAINT SYSTEM
A restraint system (10) for helping to protect an occupant (60) of a vehicle (20) having a roof (32) and a cabin (40) with a seat (50) for the occupant (60) includes an airbag (120) having a stored condition within the roof (32) and being inflatable to deployed condition extending into the cabin (40) aligned with the seat (50). A tether (140) includes a first end (142) connected to the airbag (120) and a second end (144) connected to the vehicle (20). Tear stitching (170) interconnects overlying portions (152, 154) of the tether (140). The tear stitching (170) is rupturable in response to occupant (60) penetration into the deployed airbag (120) to permit the interconnected overlying portions (151, 154) to move relative to one another such that the tether (140) lengthens.
Airbag device for panorama roof
An airbag device for a panorama roof may include: a roller disposed under a panorama roof and having a blind wound therearound, the blind serving to cover the panorama roof; a head liner covering the roller; an inflator disposed between the panorama roof and the roller; a guide tunnel connected to the inflator to guide gas; and a cushion connected to the guide tunnel, and deployed by gas guided through the guide tunnel so as to cover the panorama roof.
