Airbag system for a vehicle and method for manufacturing the airbag system

An airbag system for a vehicle includes: (i) an airbag chute module which forms a guide to direct an airbag deployment provided with a through-opening, (ii) a deployment panel being movable between a through-opening closing position in which the deployment panel covers at least partially the through-opening and an airbag deployment position in which the deployment panel enables the airbag deployment through the through-opening, and (iii) at least a flexible retention net having a first plane-portion disposed within the airbag chute module, a second plane-portion disposed within the deployment panel and a third portion which extends from the first and second plane-portions. The third portion of the flexible retention net includes an overmolded area.

A panoramic window safety system applied to a vehicle moves a piston in a piston movement space of a piston carriage by a gas pressure of an inflator located on the bottom portion of a panoramic window space, and switches a wire that forms a side bending arrangement in the panoramic window space into an intermediate linear arrangement by a forward movement of the piston to be stood perpendicular to the panoramic window space to support an airbag covering the panoramic window space, preventing the risk of a passenger leaving when a panoramic window having the size at which the upper body of a passenger is exposed is damaged to meet the North American regulations that prescribe preventing the passenger from leaving.

Curtain airbag deployment ramp with mounting tabs

A deployment ramp for helping to direct a curtain airbag to deploy inboard of a trim piece on a side structure of a vehicle includes a deployment flap for directing the curtain airbag to deploy inboard of the trim piece and a mounting portion configured to receive a fastener for connecting the deployment ramp and the curtain airbag to the vehicle. The mounting portion includes a pair of mounting tabs. Each mounting tab is configured to be installed in a corresponding sleeve in the curtain airbag to connect the deployment ramp to the curtain airbag. The mounting portion is configured so that installing both mounting tabs in their corresponding sleeves requires the application of external manipulating forces to the mounting portion in order to bend and/or deflect in order to overcome an interference between the mounting portion and the curtain airbag.
