A guide portion is provided at an upper portion of the pillar trim so as to guide the curtain airbag which is being inflated toward a vehicle compartment. The curtain airbag includes a patch portion as an inflation suppression portion at a position which overlaps with the guide portion when viewed from the inside of the vehicle compartment. The patch portion as the inflation suppression portion is configured to suppress inflation of part of the curtain airbag where the patch portion is provided.

A curtain airbag assembly that includes one or more angled stiffening chambers and one or more standoff chambers. An angled stiffening chamber may be configured to support and retain an occupant within a vehicle during or after a vehicle collision. The angled stiffening chamber may include a plurality of extending portions and bent portions such that the angled stiffening chamber, when inflated, has an angled or bent configuration.

At a completion of deployment, part of the airbag becomes approximately straight, and an upper part of the airbag tilts toward a center of the seat in a right-to-left direction.

Provided is an occupant's leg restraint device suitable for restraining the legs of an occupant when an automobile has an oblique collision or an offset barrier collision. The occupant's leg restraint device has an airbag and an inflator for supplying gas to the lower part of the airbag to inflate the airbag, and the airbag has a first panel on the occupant side and a second panel on the side opposite thereto. An upper part of the inside of the airbag is divided into small chambers by vertical separating panels that are joined to the first panel and the second panel and that extend vertically. In a state where the airbag has inflated, recessed portions having a depth of 20 to 40 mm are formed in the occupant-side surface of the airbag along the vertical separating panels.
