20230293606 · 2023-09-21 ·

Disclosed herein is a process for producing a postbiotic extract, which includes providing a first material having a first isoelectric point ranging from pH 1 to pH 6 and a second material having a second isoelectric point ranging from pH 4 to pH 8, admixing the first material and a probiotic microorganism with water having a pH greater than the second isoelectric point, so as to form a mixture, adding the second material into the mixture and then adjusting a pH of the second material-added mixture to between the first and second isoelectric points so that a precipitate is formed, and subjecting the precipitate to a cell wall isolation treatment to obtain the postbiotic extract. Use of the postbiotic extract is also disclosed.

Methods for producing probiotics fortified avian eggs and egg products and formulations thereof
11638726 · 2023-05-02 · ·

Disclosed are probiotic formulations comprising fortified avian eggs and avian egg products such as egg powder, and methods for producing the same substantially no meat containing growth media such as MRS. The formulations may be used to supplement food that include, but are not limited to, baby foods, milk, and pet foods. Effective amounts of the fortified egg formulations comprising at least about 10.sup.9 CFU/dosage of probiotics may be used to treat health issues that include, but are not limited to, irritable bowel syndrome. The probiotic formulation may comprise bacterial strains comprising at least one of L. casei, L. rhamnosus, B. breve, Bifidobacterium longum, L. acidophilus, L. plantarum, B. bifidum, L. fermentum, L. lactis, L. paracasei, and L. salivarius.

LACTIC ACID BACTERIA STARTER, METHOD FOR PRODUCING FERMENTED MILK, AND FERMENTED MILK

The present invention provides a lactic acid bacteria starter comprising: Streptococcus thermophilus; and a lactic acid bacterium of the Lactobacillaceae other than Lactobacillus delbrueckii.

COATED PROBIOTIC, FOOD COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

The present disclosure relates to a coated probiotic having enhanced acid tolerance, bile tolerance, gastrointestinal survivability, cold storage stability and room temperature storage stability by including milk-derived phospholipid and Aloe vera gel as a coating agent, a food composition containing the same, and a method for producing the same. As the coated probiotic includes the Aloe vera gel and the milk-derived phospholipid as the coating agent, it may have increased stabilities against external environmental stress, such as lyophilization stability and storage stability of the probiotic itself, and may have significantly enhanced acid tolerance and bile tolerance which are the indices of the gastrointestinal stability of the probiotic after taking.

The disclosure provides compositions and dosage forms for promoting healthy microbial flora in a mammal, for example, a human. The disclosure further provides compositions and dosage forms for disrupting biofilm or preventing formation of biofilm containing pathogenic bacteria and/or pathogenic fungi in a particular region of a subject. The dosage forms contain (i) an isolated non-pathogenic fungal strain that is viable in the region of the subject, (ii) an isolated non-pathogenic bacterial strain that is viable in the region of the subject, and optionally (iii) an enzyme capable of disrupting the biofilm. The present disclosure also provides methods of disrupting a biofilm or preventing formation of a biofilm with such a composition or dosage form, methods of identifying a subject suitable for treatment with such a composition or dosage form, and methods of improving nutrient absorption using such a composition or dosage form.

BENEFICIAL BACTERIA AND SECRETORY IMMUNOGLOBULIN A
20220280581 · 2022-09-08 ·

The combination of specific immunoglobulins plus activated Bifidobacteria strains or other beneficial bacteria is described with the designed efficacy to colonize unstable microbiome communities in humans or other animals, restoring the keystone Bifidobacteria strains or other beneficial bacteria to compositional and functional importance in the intestine and improve overall health and reduce pathogenic infections in the host. Secretory immunoglobulin A (SIgA), when bound via specific glycans to select commensal bacteria grown on human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs), enhances the colonization potential of commensals through protection from intestinal digestion, enhancing attachment, and dampening host immune response.
