An airbag device includes an airbag, a connecting member extending from the airbag, and an actuator mounted on an airbag housing for controlling an inflation manner of the airbag. The actuator includes an actuator body that includes an operating pin which penetrates the connecting member, a mounting plate that holds the actuator body and is secured to the airbag housing, and a supporting plate that is disposed in a vicinity of a leading end portion of the operating pin. The supporting plate includes a supporting hole for receiving the operating pin, and a flange that is formed in a part of a periphery of the supporting hole toward which the connecting member is released. The flange extends along an axial direction of the operating pin towards the leading end of the operating pin for supporting the leading end portion of the operating pin with its surface facing the operating pin.

Airbag device

Control for airbag deployment and/or the like is facilitated in a simple configuration. An airbag includes upper vent holes and lower vent holes. The upper vent holes are placed upward of the head facing portion and are open to an occupant side. The lower vent holes are placed downward of the upper vent holes and are open to the opposite side from an occupant.

AIRBAG FOR RETRACTABLE STEERING WHEEL

A restraint system includes a retractable steering wheel, an airbag inflatable from the steering wheel, two primary tethers, two secondary tethers, and a tether release engaged with both secondary tethers. The airbag when inflated includes a front panel adjacent the steering wheel and an impact panel opposite the front panel. The primary tethers extend from the front panel to the impact panel. The secondary tethers extend from the front panel to each primary tether.

[Problem] To provide an airbag anticipated to suitably protect a passenger of a vehicle.

[Resolution means] The airbag according to the present embodiment includes: an inner bag having a facing surface facing a passenger of a vehicle in the deployed state; an outer bag which is provided so as to surround the outer periphery of the inner bag with the facing surface exposed; and two protrusion parts which are provided in the outer bag and respectively disposed on the left and right sides in the width direction of the vehicle with respect to the facing surface so as to protrude rearward. For example, the inner bag and the outer bag may be partitioned by a common partition wall, with a ventilation port formed in the partition wall. Moreover, for example, the inner bag and the outer bag may each be independent bag bodies, a ventilation port may be formed in both the inner bag and the outer bag, and the inner bag and the outer bag may be coupled around the ventilation port.

Side airbag device

A side airbag device includes: an airbag which is stored in a storage part provided on a side of an occupant sitting on a seat of a vehicle in a normal posture, and is deployed and inflated forward between the occupant and a side wall part by an inflation gas supplied from a gas generator in response to an impact applied from a side to the side wall part of the vehicle; an exhaust port configured to exhaust an inflation gas, the exhaust port being provided with the airbag and open toward a direction along a wall surface of the side wall part; and an opening varying mechanism configured to reduce an opening area of the exhaust port in a later stage of deployment and inflation of the airbag compared to an initial stage.

CONSTANT PRESSURE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG

A curtain airbag configured to maintain an internal working pressure of the airbag when an internal working pressure exceeds a design working pressure. The curtain airbag can include pressure relief elements that are actuatable to increase the inflatable volume of the curtain airbag. The curtain airbag can include a relief vent that opens when the internal working pressure exceeds the design working pressure and subsequently close when the internal working pressure falls below the design working pressure.

In a vehicle having a display mounted forward of a passenger seat on a dashboard and angled toward a driver seat adjacent the passenger seat, the display is moveable from the angled position to a position flush with the dashboard, and an airbag system is configured to deploy an airbag cushion that displaces the display from the angled position to the position flush with the dashboard to ensure that the airbag cushion has an adequate backup or support surface.

AIRBAG DEVICE

An actuator of an airbag device includes a main body portion, which is attached to an attachment base, and a cap including a fitting protruding portion that is inserted into a fitting recessed portion of the main body portion. The fitting protruding portion has a holding portion, which is inserted into a holding hole of a coupling member when fitted to the main body portion and holds a leading end portion of the coupling member, and a movement permitting unit that, when a ceiling portion of the cap is subjected to pressure of a combustion gas of a squib, causes the ceiling portion to move, and causes the holding portion to move from a holding position, wherein the holding portion is inserted into the holding hole of the coupling member, to a holding released position, wherein the holding portion is removed from the holding hole.

An airbag cushion and an airbag apparatus for a passenger seat including the same. A side panel portion of the airbag cushion is divided into a first panel portion, which is disposed at an upper position, and a second panel portion, which is disposed at a lower position, an open gap communicating with the outside is formed in an overlap region between the first panel portion and the second panel portion, and a low-risk deployment (LRD) vent for the airbag cushion is formed using the open gap. Accordingly, the configuration for forming the LRD vent is simplified.
