Diffusor for a gas generator, gas generator with such diffusor and manufacturing method for such diffusor

The disclosure relates to a diffusor for a gas generator of an airbag module, comprising a substantially tubular base body with a longitudinal axis, a baffle cap axially connected to the base body at a first end of the diffusor and a connecting device configured at a second end of the diffusor opposite to the first end. At least one outflow opening is formed in an outer wall of the tubular base body such that gas can flow out of an interior of the diffusor substantially in parallel to a longitudinal axis in the direction of the first end and the second end from the diffusor. The baffle cap is free from an outflow opening. The disclosure further relates to a gas generator comprising such a diffusor, as well as an airbag module including such a gas generator. Moreover, a method for manufacturing the diffusor is also proved.

FRONT AND REAR DEPLOYABLE CONTAINMENT SYSTEM

A deployable containment system of a vehicle includes a pair of guide channels that surround an opening facing one of a forward direction of travel of the vehicle and a backward direction of travel of the vehicle. Each of the guide channels has a first end and a second end. A housing is mounted to the first ends of the guide channels. A shield is configured to: deploy from the housing; travel along the guide channels toward the second ends of the guide channels; and cover at least a portion of the opening, An actuator is configured to, in response to being triggered, deploy the shield from the housing and move the shield along the guide channels toward the second ends of the guide channels.

Front passenger seat airbag device

A front passenger seat airbag device includes a module case; a front passenger seat airbag configured such that, in a folded state, a height of a first airbag section positioned at a vehicle outer side is lower than a height of a second airbag section positioned at a vehicle inner side, and widths of the first airbag section and the second airbag section are substantially the same; an inflator disposed at a bottom side of the module case; and a raising member disposed at a bottom portion of the module case, and that raises a height of a first support face supporting the first airbag section to be higher than a height of a second support face supporting the second airbag section, such that a height of an upper face of the first airbag section is substantially aligned with a height of an upper face of the second airbag section.

Vehicle air bag filter with grooved wire

A filter for use in safety air bags as employed in vehicles and the like comprises one or more compressed grooved wires, wherein the wire or wires have an outer diameter of about 0.010 to 0.050 inches and the grooves have a depth in the range of 0.001 to about 0.005 inches. A plurality of grooves, preferable about 10-14, of about 0.018 diameter stainless steel wire, having a depth of about 0.001 inches to about 0.0025 inches, are equally spaced about the periphery of the wire, which is cylindrical. The pitch of the groove spacing may differ for different implementations. The wire outer surface between grooves may have a radius, preferably about 0.0025 inches in a wire of about 0.018 inches diameter. A stainless steel wire is preferred, but other wire metals may be used according to a given implementation.
