A lock apparatus includes a bracket, an engagement module, and an actuation module. The engagement module is supported in the bracket and has an engagement member configured to move to a first position or a second position in a first axial direction along the first axial direction. The actuation module is connected to the bracket and includes a pushing member. The actuation module drives the pushing member to move to a first position or a second position in the second axial direction along the second axial direction. When the pushing member is at the first position in the second axial direction, the engagement member is at the first position in the first axial direction. When the pushing member is at the second position in the second axial direction, the engagement member is at the second position in the first axial direction.

Provided is an electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) apparatus including a gear housing in which a nut coupler coupled with a ball nut through a bearing is formed and an accommodation portion is formed in an internal circumferential surface of the nut coupler, and a lock screw configured to have an external circumferential surface on which a screw portion is formed, coupled to the nut coupler, and supports the bearing, and to have a loosening preventer formed to protrude toward the accommodation portion after the screw portion is coupled to the nut coupler.

Electrical steering column lock for an automotive vehicle

An electrical steering column lock for an automotive vehicle capable of locking and unlocking the steering column is disclosed. The electrical steering column lock includes a bolt intended to move for locking and for unlocking the steering column, a cam wheel intended to rotate according a first rotation axis and to cooperate with the bolt for controlling the bolt movement, and an assembly for determining the rotational position of the cam wheel while the cam wheel is rotating.

Steering lock device

A fragile part (15) which is set to have lower load resistance than other positions of a frame (10) is provided on a guide part (12) at a position that overlaps with a linkage portion (50a) between a hanger (52) and a lock body (51) of a lock member (50) positioned in a steering lock release position.

Method for controlling steering locking of a steer-by-wire steering system of a motor vehicle

A steer-by-wire steering system including a feedback actuator to simulate a steering feel to a steering device and including an electric motor connected to a steering shaft to transmit a torque, and a steering lock including a latch connected to the steering shaft in a torsion-resistant manner and a lock to engage with the latch at locking positions to block a rotation of the steering shaft. If an ignition is switched-off and a movement of the steering device is detected, a position of the steering shaft and a distance between the lock and a next locking position of the latch is determined. If the distance is greater than a predefined value, a counter-torque is transmitted to the steering shaft by the feedback-actuator opposite to the movement of the steering device until the locking position reaches the lock and the lock can engage with the latch.

An electrical steering column lock for an automotive vehicle capable of locking and unlocking the steering column is disclosed. The electrical steering column lock includes a bolt intended to move for locking and for unlocking the steering column, a cam wheel intended to rotate according a first rotation axis and to cooperate with the bolt for controlling the bolt movement, a gear intended to rotate according to a second rotation axis and disposed so as to drive the rotation of the cam wheel, where the cam wheel and the gear are placed sensibly in a common plane have parallel rotation axes which are also parallel to the movement of the bolt.

STEERING LOCK DEVICE

A steering lock device includes a position detector that detects a position of a lock member. The position detector includes a first unlock detecting portion of a digital output type that detects that the lock member is located in an unlock position and a second unlock detecting portion of an analog output type that detects that the lock member is located in an intermediate position, which is between a lock position and the unlock position. A position determination portion determines whether or not the lock member is located in the unlock position based on a detection signal of the first unlock detecting portion and a detection signal of the second unlock detecting portion, which has a parabolic output waveform that changes in accordance with movement of the lock member.

A steering lock device includes a lock bar attached to a case member, a motor having an output shaft, a driving gear member which is attached to the output shaft of the motor and which is rotatable together with the output shaft, a driven gear member which is assembled in a state of being meshed with the driving gear member, and which is rotatable in a direction corresponding to a rotation direction of the driving gear member, and a feed screw member which is connected coaxially with the lock bar, which has a male thread screwed with a female thread of the driven gear member and which is capable of causing the lock bar to advance or retreat in an axial direction by the rotation of the driven gear member. The motor, the feed screw member and the lock bar are accommodated in parallel within the case member.

LOCK FOR VEHICLE ACTIVE FRONT STEERING SYSTEM

A system for a vehicle includes a gear and a plate fixed to the gear. The gear is driving by a motor for providing relative rotation between a steering wheel and steering shaft of the vehicle in an adaptive front steering system. The system includes a solenoid including a coil and a pin moveable relative to the coil to engage the plate based on a signal. A sensor is configured to detect a change in current through the coil associated with initial movement of the pin relative to the coil. The system includes a controller programmed to change the duty cycle signal in response to the change in current to slow movement of the pin to reduce or eliminate a clicking noise associated with the pin seating in an extended position or retracted position.
