Yogurt for dogs
The present invention is a yogurt product that may be consumed by dogs and other mammalian pets. The yogurt product is in an unflavored form comprising as essential constituents: (A) 0% to 88% by weight water; (B) 0.2% to 25% by weight of a no-fat protein component selected from the group consisting of skim milk and cultured skim milk; (C1) 0.001% to 6% by weight sugar component comprising: (C1) 0.001% to 6% polydextrose and (C2) 0.001% to 6% Glycoses and Galactoses; (D) 2% to 8% by weight milk derived solids; (E) 0.2% to 2.5% by weight stabilizers and emulsifiers; and (F) at least one probiotic microorganism. The yogurt product may be refrigerated and served as a mousse, frozen dessert, or as a fermented yogurt drink similar to Ayran or Kefir. A method for producing the yogurt product is also disclosed herein.
ANTITUMOR EFFECT POTENTIATOR
An activator suitable for immune response in tumor immunotherapy using an immune checkpoint inhibitor. An agent suitable for potentiating an antitumor effect of an immune checkpoint inhibitor, may contain a probiotic and a prebiotic as active ingredients.
Method of producing a fermented mil k product using lactobacillus casei
The present invention relates to a method of producing a fermented milk product comprising adding lactic acid bacteria to milk, wherein the bacteria comprise Lactobacillus casei and at least one further strain of lactic acid bacteria of a species other than Lactobacillus casei, wherein the further strain has a deficiency in lactose metabolism but is capable of metabolizing one or several carbohydrates other than lactose present in the milk.
COATED PROBIOTIC, FOOD COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
The present disclosure relates to a coated probiotic having enhanced acid tolerance, bile tolerance, gastrointestinal survivability, cold storage stability and room temperature storage stability by including milk-derived phospholipid and Aloe vera gel as a coating agent, a food composition containing the same, and a method for producing the same. As the coated probiotic includes the Aloe vera gel and the milk-derived phospholipid as the coating agent, it may have increased stabilities against external environmental stress, such as lyophilization stability and storage stability of the probiotic itself, and may have significantly enhanced acid tolerance and bile tolerance which are the indices of the gastrointestinal stability of the probiotic after taking.
Method for producing fermented milk food
An object of the present invention is to provide a fermented milk food, in which the viability of lactic acid bacteria during storage is high, the increase in acidity is suppressed, the viable cell count is less reduced, and the flavor is less deteriorated. A method for producing a fermented milk food by which the object was achieved is characterized by inoculating and culturing lactic acid bacteria in a culture medium containing a milk as a main component and supplemented with glucose in such an amount that glucose is substantially entirely assimilated at the time of completion of culturing and fructose in an amount twice or more the amount of glucose in a mass ratio.
LACTOBACILLUS CASEI FOR TREATING OBESITY AND ASSOCIATED METABOLIC DISORDERS
The strain Lactobacillus casei AH077 (NCIMB12019) produces a polysaccharide and increases energy excretion. The strain acts to block fat absorption and is used in the prevention or treatment of obesity and obesity-related metabolic syndrome.
Lactic bacteria and their use in the prevention of diarrhea
The present invention concerns a lactic composition useful for the prevention or treatment of diarrhea such as antibiotic associated diarrhea or “tourista.” The composition according to the invention contains at least a bacterial strain selected from the group consisting of Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus acidophilus I-1492, Lactobacillus casei and a mixture of thereof.
INHIBITION OF FUNGAL GROWTH BY MANGANESE DEPLETION
The present invention provides a method of controlling growth of unwanted microorganisms by limiting their access to manganese. More specifically, the present invention provides a method of inhibiting or delaying growth of yeast and mold by reducing the manganese concentration in a product which is preferably a food product. The invention also provides manganese scavengers and uses thereof to inhibit or delay fungal growth. The manganese scavenger may be a bacterial cell, specifically a lactic acid bacterial cell, more specifically Lactobacillus rhamnosus alone or in combination with Lactobacillus paracasei.
MICROBIAL FEED SUPPLEMENT COMPOSITION AND METHOD
A composition for administration to an animal is provided. The composition comprises a bacteria of the genus Lactobacillus. Also provided is a method of improving or enhancing one or more characteristics of an animal by administering a composition comprising a bacteria of the genus Lactobacillus to the animal. The animal may be cattle, such as a calf. Related animals and animal products are further provided.
