METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SAFELY BRAKING A TRAILER
A method is for safely braking a trailer of a vehicle combination including a motor vehicle and the trailer. The motor vehicle has an electronically controllable pneumatic motor vehicle braking system and the trailer has a pneumatic trailer braking system. The motor vehicle braking system and the trailer braking system are connected at least by a trailer control line and a trailer feed line. The trailer braking system has at least one trailer brake circuit including a trailer supply reservoir for making available a trailer supply pressure for the trailer brake circuit, service brake actuators and spring brake actuators. In response to a demand for safe braking of the trailer, the motor vehicle brings about lowering of the trailer supply pressure in the trailer brake circuit, with the result that the spring brake actuators of the trailer are applied and safely brake the trailer.
Automatic selectable trailer connection
The present disclosure relates to a pneumatic system for a truck having a first pair of couplers, typically gladhand couplers and a second pair of couplers, typically gladhand couplers, with only one pair used at a time for coupling a trailer, the system being able to detect which pair of glad hands a trailer is connected to. The present disclosure also relates to a truck comprising a pneumatic system according to the invention and a method carried out in a pneumatic system according to the invention.
Brake system for a motor vehicle and trailer air supply and control module
A trailer air supply and control module for a electronic brake system of a motor vehicle with a trailer interface, and a brake system of a motor vehicle with a trailer interface comprising the trailer air supply and control module, includes at least two electrical terminals configured to receive two independent but redundant electrical control input signals which comprise a signal for a preset brake control outlet pressure. At least one valve is configured to adjust a constant air pressure from an air pressure source to the preset brake outlet pressure. One pneumatic outlet terminal is configured to provide the preset brake supply outlet pressure to the pneumatic brake system of the trailer, and one pneumatic outlet terminal is configured to provide the preset brake control outlet pressure to the pneumatic brake system of the trailer. The air pressure source is arranged within the trailer air supply and control module.
Trailer brake control system
Systems and methods are provided for controlling operation of a trailer brake system associated with an agricultural vehicle-trailer combination. Using a driver deceleration demand a pressure level and/or duration for a preliminary pressure peak to be provided in one or more fluid lines of the trailer brake system is determined. A trailer brake signal is generated for controlling the trailer brake system in accordance with the preliminary pressure peak.
Trailer brake control module
A trailer brake control module (300a; 300b; 300c) for a towing vehicle (502) facilitating braking of a towed vehicle or trailer (504) includes a pressure supply port (P11), a trailer control pressure port (P22), a primary control port (P42) for receiving either directly and/or indirectly a control brake pressure for operating the trailer brake control module (300a; 300b; 300c). The primary control port (P42) receives the control brake pressure from a pneumatically operated pressure medium, a pneumatic control pressure line (308.1) provides alternative control brake pressure for operating the trailer brake control module (300a; 300b; 300c), wherein the pneumatic control pressure line (308.1) receives the alternative control brake pressure from an electronically operated pressure medium, and a relay valve (310) is activated using either the control brake pressure received at the primary control port (P42), or the alternative control brake pressure from the pneumatic control pressure line (308.1).
Trailer brake control system
Systems and methods are provided for controlling operation of a trailer brake system associated with an agricultural vehicle-trailer combination. A HMI component used by the operator to provide a deceleration input to the trailer brake system is identified. Based on this a pressure level to be provided in one or more fluid lines of the trailer brake system is determined. A trailer brake signal for is generated and output controlling the trailer brake system to provide the determined pressure.

A trailer brake signal is generated for controlling the trailer brake system in accordance with the preliminary pressure peak.
COMPUTER SYSTEM FOR INFLATING A TRAILER EQUIPMENT AND ASSOCIATED VEHICLE, METHOD, COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
A computer system, for inflating a trailer equipment included in a trailer, comprising processing circuitry configured to receive data including at least a trailer connection status and a trailer load; determine if a vehicle comprising the trailer and a tractor unit will depart within a predetermined timeframe, based at least on the trailer connection status and the trailer load; and if the vehicle is determined to depart within the predetermined timeframe, output an inflation authorization message, to increase the trailer equipment pressure to be equal to or above a departure pressure threshold.
Trailer brake control system
Systems and methods are provided for controlling operation of a trailer brake system associated with an agricultural vehicle, comprising: determining a coupling force associated with a coupling point for providing a coupling between the vehicle and a trailer, determining, in dependence on the coupling force, the presence of a trailer coupled to the vehicle at the coupling point; and controlling one or more components of the vehicle in dependence on the determination of the presence of the trailer.
Truck Trailer Interface
A pneumatic brake system for a towing and towed vehicle includes means for supplying a supply pressure and means for supplying a control pressure to the towed vehicle. An electrical connection is provided between respective ECUs on the towing and towed vehicles which are able to exchange information and determine whether the brake system in both towed and towing vehicle is compatible with an electronic brake signal and whether the brake system is compatible with secondary supply pressure being applied via a control pressure line. If both conditions are fulfilled, the brake system actuates a switching device or devices on the towing and towed vehicles to direct air from the means for supplying a control pressure to a second pneumatic supply circuit in the towed vehicle.
