STEERING COLUMN FOR VEHICLE
According to a steering column for a vehicle according to the present embodiments, a wide convenient space can be secured for a driver in a teles-in state by increasing a teles-stroke while securing an installation space for the steering column, the installation of the steering column is spatially convenient despite the increased teles-stroke, and a teles operation can be quickly performed without increasing the output of a motor, and thus a convenient space can be quickly secured for a driver without degraded noise performance.
Energy absorption strap assembly with breakaway load tuning feature
A steering column assembly includes a lower jacket. The steering column assembly also includes an upper jacket in telescoping engagement with the lower jacket. The steering column assembly further includes an energy absorbing strap assembly operatively coupled to the upper jacket. The energy absorbing strap assembly includes a strap having a stationary leg and a moveable leg, the moveable leg extending from a first strap end region to a curved portion, the stationary leg extending from the curved portion to a second strap end region, wherein the second strap end region forms a U-shape defined by a radially outer segment, a radially inner segment and a connecting segment to join the radially outer segment and the radially inner segment. The energy absorbing strap assembly also includes a pin extending through the radially inner segment of the stationary leg and the moveable leg.
STEERING COLUMN ENERGY ABSORPTION STRAP ASSEMBLY
A steering column assembly includes a lower jacket. The steering column assembly also includes an upper jacket operatively coupled to the lower jacket, the upper jacket telescopingly moveable relative to the lower jacket. The steering column assembly further includes a rake bracket operatively coupled to the lower jacket. The steering column assembly yet further includes an energy absorption strap operatively coupled to the upper jacket, at least a portion of the energy absorption strap disposed radially outward of the rake bracket.
Dual direction locking mechanism for telescoping steering column
A locking mechanism for a telescoping steering column includes an energy absorption strap having a plurality of teeth disposed therealong. Also included is a clamp bolt rotatably driven by an adjustment lever. Further included is an actuator body coupled to the clamp bolt and rotated therewith. Yet further included is a first lock cam coupled to the actuator body and engageable with the teeth of the energy absorption strap to lock the telescoping steering column in a first direction. Also included is a second lock cam coupled to the actuator body and engageable with the teeth of the energy absorption strap to lock the telescoping steering column in a second direction different than the first direction.
Steering device
A steering device includes: an inner tube including a steering wheel; a column housing that houses the tube retractably along an axis; a drive mechanism attached to the column housing in such a way as to cause the tube to perform a retraction operation via a drive member that reciprocates along the axis, a first impact absorption member that is provided on one of the drive member and the tube, and includes a deformation portion; and an action member that is provided on another of the drive member and the tube, and plastically deforms the deformation portion. The drive member, the first impact absorption member, and the action member are fixed by a single fixing member. When a predetermined pushing load acts on the tube, fixing between the first impact absorption member and the action member is released.
Energy absorbing strap assembly for a steering column
A steering column assembly includes an upper jacket. The steering column assembly also includes a lower jacket that the upper jacket is telescopingly coupled to. The steering column assembly further includes an energy absorbing strap operatively coupled to the upper jacket and the lower jacket, the energy absorbing strap having a first leg, a second leg and a U-shaped portion connecting the first leg and the second leg. The steering column assembly yet further includes a pin located within a slot defined by the first leg and the second leg of the energy absorbing strap.
STEERING COLUMN TELESCOPE ASSEMBLY AND ENERGY ABSORPTION DEVICE
An assembly for a steering column assembly including an engagement plate and a telescope plate at least partially disposed within the engagement plate. The engagement plate may be adapted to be located between a column tube of a steering column assembly and the telescope plate. The engagement plate and the telescope plate have one or more features for engaging with or contacting each other to provide energy absorption during an impact exceeding a threshold load. These features may include one or more projections or protrusions, one or more slots, one or more ribs, or a combination.
Steering shaft for a steering system of a motor vehicle, in particular a passenger car, and motor vehicle
A steering shaft for a steering system of a motor vehicle, having at least two steering shaft elements, which can be rotated about an axis of rotation, are coupled to one another in a torque-transmitting manner, and are telescopically slidable one inside the other, via which a steering wheel is mechanically connectable to a steering gear of the steering system, wherein at least one of the steering shaft elements has at least two shaft parts, which are formed separately from one another and are connected to one another in a rotationally-fixed manner and which are assembled and connected to one another with at least one separation point, wherein the steering shaft elements are slidable one inside the other beyond the separation point.
STEERING DEVICE
A steering device includes a pipe, a housing, a telescopic mechanism, and a load absorbing mechanism. The load absorbing mechanism includes an extending portion coupled to the telescopic mechanism and extending in a front-rear direction, a first sliding portion provided on a first side in a left-right direction with respect to the extending portion, and a second sliding portion provided on a second side in the left-right direction with respect to the extending portion.
ADAS WHEEL LOCKING DEVICE
A steering column assembly includes a first shaft assembly, a second shaft assembly, and a locking assembly. The first shaft assembly has a first shaft. The second shaft assembly has a second shaft that is at least partially received within the first shaft. The locking assembly is disposed about at least one of the first shaft and the second shaft and is arranged to inhibit rotation of at least one of the first shaft and the second shaft.
