Track assemblies for terrain going vehicles and method for repairing the tracks
A track assembly for a terrain going vehicles having tires, the track assembly having at least two traction bars. The traction bars each having a body that is dimensioned to extend over the width of a tire and guide plates extending from the body so that they can be set to reach over the edge of the tire and to the sides of the tires and ears at each end of each traction bar, extending crosswise on relation to the length of the traction bar and on both sides of the body of the traction bar, the ears having each at least one hole. There is at least one link having a link body with a length and one connecting hole at each opposite end of the link body, and pins set to run through a pair of one hole of the link body and at least one hole of a ear of the traction bar in order to form a chain, wherein the pins are locked in relation to the holes of the ears so that rotation of the pins in the holes is prevented.
Traction stud for endless tracks
A traction stud for endless tracks. The traction stud comprises a base and the base has a center point on a top surface and a center point on a bottom surface. There is an elongated shank rigidly surmounted on the top surface at the center point. The shank has a distal end. The distal end has at least one cutting flute located in it. The shank has a threaded surface. The base has, at the center point of the bottom, a means for torqueing the traction stud.
METHOD FOR WELDING CARBIDE
A method for securing a wear resistant body to a steel base comprise locating a body of tungsten carbide on a surface of the steel base, surrounding the body of tungsten carbide with a weld pool and while the weld pool is hot, slowly cooling the weld pool so as to assist with adhesion of the weld pool to the body of tungsten carbide by the application of head from frictional contact with a rotary wire brush.
External traction device for endless tracks
A traction improvement device provides increased traction to a tracked vehicle. The traction improvement device has two opposing brackets that are connected to opposite edges or flanges of a track of a tracked vehicle. A chain extends between the brackets. At least one of the brackets is a tensioner bracket that is configured to adjust the tension of the chain. The tension adjustment provides tension to the chain extending between the brackets, securing the traction improvement device on the outer surface (or gripping surface) of the track.
SNOW MOBILE TRACK STUD BACKER
A snowmobile stud backer includes a body extending from a backer base, the body narrowing from the base to a narrow end, the body further including an axial opening extending from the backer base to the narrow end, the axial opening including internal threads, the body including a plurality of channels providing a surface within which a tool is configured to be keyed for the purpose of tightening the backer to the stud structure. Further disclosed is a snowmobile stud assembly, a snowmobile track, and a snowmobile, as well as tools for installing the snowmobile stud backer to the snowmobile track.
Track cleat for endless track vehicle
An endless track vehicle with increased traction and/or installation, modification, and/or use of track cleats for traction for the endless track of the endless track vehicle. A body is mountable to the endless track exterior. The body defines bores extending from a first end of the body to a second end of the body, wherein the bores have counterbores. First and second cleats/bolts respectively having a cleat/bolt heads, the cleats/bolts mounted in respective bores and optional extending out a distance out of the second end of the body, wherein the cleat/bolt heads seat in the respective counterbores. Nuts may be used in the counterbores to optionally extend the cleats/bolts, and/or to secure and fasten the cleats/bolts.
TRACKED VEHICLE AND FLEET OF TRACKED VEHICLES
A tracked vehicle comprising a first and a second track, a mechanical power generator assembly; an assembly of operating devices coupled to the generator assembly; a first and a second drive wheel coupled respectively to the first and to the second track, and to the generator assembly; a user interface to receive inputs from an operator; and a control unit coupled to the user interface to receive inputs; the control unit being coupled to the mechanical power generator assembly and being configured to enable or disable starting of the mechanical power generator assembly.
CROSS-LINK FOR TRACKS OF SNOW GROOMERS
A cross-link for tracks of snow groomers, the cross-link comprising a section bar, which has an elongated shape, extends in a first direction, is limited by an outer surface and comprises a portion for fixing to at least one belt of a track of a snow groomer, and it is provided with an inner cavity, which extends through the section bar in the first direction, and is open at the side in the first direction; wherein the inner cavity is filled, at least in part, with a filling material comprising metal foam, and in certain embodiments, the inner cavity is completely filled with the filling material.
Snow track for a snowmobile
An endless track for use in propelling a snowmobile. The endless track extends between a first lateral side and a second lateral side and includes an inner drive surface and an outer ground-engaging surface. The inner drive surface includes a plurality of longitudinally spaced inner drive lugs used to drive and rotate the endless track. The outer ground-engaging surface includes a plurality of treads, where each tread extends continuous and uninterrupted along a constant height from the first lateral side to the second lateral side a full width of the endless track.
Wear resistant studs for tracked vehicles
An apparatus and method for forming a wear resistant stud for a vehicle. The method comprising providing an elongate threaded stud member having a top surface, locating a body of tungsten carbide on the top surface, surrounding the body of tungsten carbide with a weld pool and while the weld pool is hot, slowly cooling the weld pool. The apparatus comprises an elongate threaded stud member having a top surface, a body of tungsten carbide on the top surface and a weld pool surrounding the body of tungsten carbide and the top surface of the stud member wherein the weld pool is slowly cooled from a hot applied state.
