WEAR RESISTANT STUDS FOR TRACKED VEHICLES
An apparatus and method for forming a wear resistant stud for a vehicle. The method comprising providing an elongate threaded stud member having a top surface, locating a body of tungsten carbide on the top surface, surrounding the body of tungsten carbide with a weld pool and while the weld pool is hot, slowly cooling the weld pool. The apparatus comprises an elongate threaded stud member having a top surface, a body of tungsten carbide on the top surface and a weld pool surrounding the body of tungsten carbide and the top surface of the stud member wherein the weld pool is slowly cooled from a hot applied state
MOUNTABLE CLEAT APPARATUS
There is disclosed a cleat apparatus mountable on a track of a tractor or similar vehicle. In an embodiment, the apparatus comprises an elongate frame having a first mounting bracket at a first end of the elongate frame, the first mounting bracket adapted to latch onto a first side of a track, and a removable second mounting bracket adapted to mount to a second end of the elongate frame, and to latch onto a second side of the track. The cleat apparatus is secured in position by the mounting brackets to provide additional traction for the track in more extreme operating conditions, including snow and ice in winter. This may significantly extend the utility of tractors which otherwise may sit idle during winter months.
TRACK FOR TRACTION OF A VEHICLE
A track for traction of a vehicle, such as an all-terrain vehicle (ATV), a snowmobile, an agricultural vehicle, etc. The track may have rigidity (i.e., stiffness) characteristics to enhance its traction, floatation, and/or other aspects of its performance. For example, in some embodiments, a lateral bending stiffness of a carcass of the track may be symmetric while a longitudinal bending stiffness of the carcass of the track may be asymmetric.
Traction cleat for a tracked vehicle
A traction cleat for the track of a tracked vehicle, the cleat has an elongated support member having first and second ends and a central portion extending between the first and second ends, the support member ends are larger in cross-section than the central portion to provide an open region extending between the support member and a track to which it will be attached, a mounting flange extends from each of the support member ends, one of which includes mounting hardware to removably secure the traction cleat to a track, and a series of individual traction members, the traction members are disposed along the length of the support member other than at the central portion thereof so that when the cleat is secured to a track it will expel debris including ice or snow that might otherwise accumulate between the cleat and the track.
DEVICE FOR ENHANCING TRACTION OF A TRACKED VEHICLE
A device for use with a continuous track of a tracked vehicle to enhance the traction of the vehicle. The device uses brackets having an adjustor with an elongate member extending therebetween to increase traction of a tracked vehicle.
SNOW GROOMING VEHICLE
A snow grooming vehicle comprising a support frame; an engine; two tracks mounted on opposite sides of the support frame itself, coupled to and driven by the engine; and comprising a first plurality of bristles arranged in a portion of the snow grooming vehicle adjacent to the track so as to capture the snow collected on the track.
DETACHABLE TRACTION SYSTEM FOR ENDLESS TRACK VEHICLES
The invention provides a detachable traction system for track vehicles comprising a multiplicity of gripping bars each of which is bolted through a tread of a corresponding multiplicity of treads on each track of an endless track vehicle. The ice traction components include gripping bars each having a gripping surface comprising a patch of durable rough protrusive material. The mud or snow traction components include gripping bars each having a compression trough. In combination with the gripping bars being angled across their respective treads toward ensuring stability of steering and direction of travel of the vehicle, the tapering of the compression troughs reduces or eliminates clogging of the compression bars with mud or snow during travel thereby increasing performance through snowy, slushy, or semi-liquid terrain.
Device to enhance the traction of a tracked vehicle
A device 1 for use with a continuous track 3 of a tracked vehicle to enhance the traction of the vehicle. The device 1 has an elongate body 5 having a ground contacting surface 6 and a releasable bracket 7 for releasably securing the elongate body 5 to the continuous track 3. The releasable bracket 7 has a bracket body 11, a first clamping member 13, a second clamping member 15 extending at an angle relative to the first clamping member, and a fastener 17. The bracket is arranged such that fastening the fastener 17 causes the second clamping member 15 to draw the first clamping member 13 towards the elongate body 5 to releasably secure the elongate body 5 to the continuous track 3. The device has one or more ground engaging features 39. A kit of parts is also described.
VEHICLE TRACK ASSEMBLY HAVING TRACK ROTATION INDICATOR POLE
A vehicle track assembly includes a track framework including a frame structure, a drive drum, and a plurality of idler wheels supported by the frame structure. A drive track is arranged about and cooperatively engages the plurality of idler wheels and the drive drum. An adjustable ski is connected to the framework. The ski may extend forward of the track. An adjustable rearward extending ski may extend rearward of a track assembly. An indicator pole is coupled to the assembly to provide an indication of the angle of rotation of the assembly.
Traction chain for a caterpillar chain of a tracked vehicle, and kit for a caterpillar chain
A traction chain for a caterpillar chain of a tracked vehicle. The traction chain is equipped with an engagement member for a driving wheel, with track guide elements, which are provided to guide a running gear of the tracked vehicle in a track, on an inner side of the traction chain, running in a running direction of the traction chain, and with a multiplicity of attachment members, each of which is provided to attach a caterpillar cleat to an outer side of the traction chain and transversely in relation to the running direction of the traction chain. The traction chain is provided for use with a lateral chain running parallel therewith, the traction chain furthermore is formed partially from an elastic base material, into which at least one traction member is embedded, extending in a running direction of the traction chain.
