CHAIN GUIDE SENSOR AND METHODS OF CONTROLING A BICYCLE
20180194432 · 2018-07-12 · ·

A gear change mechanism for a bicycle may involve a tensioner that has a wheel engaged with a chain in a bicycle drivetrain. This tensioner may be configured to rotate or otherwise change orientation in response to slack in the chain to maintain tension in the chain. A sensor may be used to measure the orientation of a tensioner of a chain in a bicycle drivetrain, and/or the physical orientation of components indicative thereof. Actions may be triggered by signals generated by the sensor.

A bicycle rotor comprises a base portion and at least one chain engagement portion. The base portion is configured to rotate around a rotational center axis of the bicycle rotor. The base portion is at least partly made of a first resin material. The first resin material has a first Young's modulus. The at least one chain engagement portion is provided on the base portion. The at least one chain engagement portion is at least partly made of a second resin material. The second resin material has a second Young's modulus. The first Young's modulus is higher than the second Young's modulus.

REAR DERAILLEUR OF A BICYCLE
20180170481 · 2018-06-21 · ·

A rear derailleur of a bicycle is disclosed. The rear derailleur includes a four-bar linkage. A fixing pin is received in a blind inner cavity of a base body and a fixing screw is constrained to a frame. A spring loading insert is arranged in the blind inner cavity. The base body is rotatable with respect to the spring loading insert. Connection members are inserted in seats formed on the fixing screw and on the spring loading insert to axially constrain the fixing screw and the spring loading insert. A toothed sector is mounted coaxially to the spring loading insert and is active on a sprocket which is active on the base body. A torsion spring is active between the spring loading insert and the toothed sector and is configured to constrain the spring loading insert and the toothed sector in rotation during controlled movements of the chain guide.

MULTI-SPROCKET ASSEMBLY FOR A BICYCLE
20180170480 · 2018-06-21 · ·

A multi-sprocket arrangement for a rear wheel hub of a bicycle may have improved gearshift characteristics, reduced vibrations during skewed running, and improved wear characteristics. The multi-sprocket arrangement includes a multiplicity of sprockets of different diameters, wherein at least one of the sprockets has a multiplicity of teeth. Also on the circumference of said sprocket, as viewed in a circumferential direction, at least one sequence of teeth is provided in which, with regard to their material thickness, a thin tooth is followed by a thick tooth which is followed in turn by another thin tooth.

HUMAN-POWERED VEHICLE

A human-powered vehicle may include a frame and a drive member pivotally coupled to the frame. Pivotal reciprocal motion of the drive member in either direction may generate rotational motion to the wheels of the human-powered vehicle. The seat of the human-powered vehicle may be positioned such that an axis about which the drive member pivots is located below, or closer to the ground surface, than the seat.

A motorized bicycle includes a frame, a plurality of wheels coupled to the frame, pedals coupled to the frame for driving at least one of the wheels, gear(s) coupled to the frame, a motor coupled to the pedals and at least one of the wheels; a battery for supplying power to the motor; and a controller. In response to a selection of a current gear, the controller regulates a power output from the battery to the motor based on the current gear, where the motor propels the motorized bicycle to travel within a predetermined speed range associated with the current gear.
