Spacecraft servicing devices and related assemblies, systems, and methods
Spacecraft servicing systems include a spacecraft servicing device and at least one mission extension pod comprising at least one spacecraft servicing component. The spacecraft servicing device is configured to transfer the at least pod to a target spacecraft in order to service the target spacecraft with the at least one spacecraft servicing component of the at least one pod. Spacecraft servicing pods configured to be supplied to a spacecraft with a spacecraft servicing device include at least one spacecraft servicing component.
DYNAMIC FLEXIBLE CIRCUITS
A dynamic flex circuit includes a plurality of hole sets arranged along the dynamic flexible circuit. The dynamic flex circuit also includes a plurality of actuator wires coupled to the dynamic flexible circuit by way of intertwining each of the plurality of actuator wires through each hole set in the plurality of hole sets arrange along the dynamic flexible circuit. Each of the plurality of actuator wires are configured to impart a motion onto the dynamic flexible circuit depending on the amount of heat applied to each of the plurality of actuator wires.
Satellite boom end effector
An orbital satellite has a pair of multi-axis booms including both thrusters for course/attitude adjustment and an end effector for grappling payloads and manipulating other tools and objects. The satellite may launch with a primary payload affixed to a bus and one or more secondary payloads affixed to an ESPA ring. Once in orbit, the end effector may be used to grapple the primary and/or secondary payloads and rearrange them on the bus. In further aspects, the end effector may be used to make bus repairs or take measurements, or hold tools that are used to make bus repairs or take measurements.
Propulsion system for controlling the orbit and controlling the attitude of a satellite
A propulsion system for controlling the orbit of a satellite in earth orbit comprises a thruster suitable for delivering a force along an axis F, and a motor-driven mechanism linked on the one hand to the thruster and on the other hand to a structure of the satellite, said motor-driven mechanism being suitable for displacing the thruster on either side of the plane of the orbit and suitable for orienting the thruster so as to make it possible to control a component perpendicular to the orbit of the force in two opposite directions, to control the inclination of the satellite, and in that said motor-driven mechanism is suitable for displacing the thruster along an axis V parallel to the velocity of the satellite, and suitable for orienting the thruster so as to make it possible to control a component of the force on the axis V, to control orbit.
Method of servicing a spacecraft using a pod secured by another spacecraft
Spacecraft servicing devices or pods and related methods may be configured to be deployed from a carrier spacecraft and include at least one spacecraft servicing component configured to perform at least one servicing operation on the target spacecraft. The spacecraft servicing devices may be configured to be transported from an initial orbit to another orbit after the spacecraft servicing device is deployed from the carrier spacecraft.
Spacecraft servicing devices and related assemblies, systems, and methods
Spacecraft servicing devices or pods and related methods may include a body configured to be deployed from a host spacecraft at a location adjacent a target spacecraft and at least one spacecraft servicing component configured to perform at least one servicing operation on the target spacecraft. The spacecraft servicing device may include a thruster assembly coupled to a boom arm, where the boom arm is configured to alter an orientation of the thruster assembly as the boom arm is rotated about the spacecraft body and a docking device.
Spacecraft servicing devices and related assemblies, systems, and methods
Spacecraft servicing devices and related methods may include a propellant tank configured to store a propellant and to be placed into fluid communication with a portion of the target spacecraft.
SPACECRAFT SERVICING DEVICES AND RELATED ASSEMBLIES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
Spacecraft servicing devices or pods and related methods may be configured to be deployed from a carrier spacecraft and include at least one spacecraft servicing component configured to perform at least one servicing operation on the target spacecraft. The spacecraft servicing devices may be configured to be transported from an initial orbit to another orbit after the spacecraft servicing device is deployed from the carrier spacecraft.
