Composition Including Probiotics and Method of Increasing Amount of Oral Immunoglobulin A and Inhibiting Oral Pathogens by Administering the Same
The invention provides a method of increasing an amount of oral immunoglobulin A (IgA) and/or inhibiting oral pathogens in a subject in need thereof, which utilizes a composition including a therapeutically effective amount of probiotics as an effective ingredient. The probiotics include Lactobacillus plantarum LPL28, which can efficiently increase the amount of oral IgA and/or inhibit the oral pathogens, and thus have a potential to prevent teeth cavities and/or periodontal diseases.
METHODS FOR REDUCING PURINE CONTENT AND ALLEVIATING DISORDER OF URIC ACID METABOLISM
Disclosed herein are methods for reducing purine content in an edible material and alleviating a disorder of uric acid metabolism using Lactobacillus plantarum TSP05 which is deposited at the China General Microbiological Culture Collection Center (CGMCC) under an accession number CGMCC 16710.
A Process for Prepared a Beverage or Beverage Component, Beverage or Beverage Component Prepared by Such Process, and Use of Brewer's Spent Grains for Preparing Such Beverage or Beverage Component
A process for preparing a beverage or beverage component can have the following steps. Providing brewer's spent grain occurs. Then, performing a saccharification by enzymatic treatment of the brewer's spent grain and a fermentation of the saccharified brewer's spent grain with lactic acid bacteria and/or acetic acid bacteria and/or probiotics obtains a fermented broth. Filtering the fermented broth and collecting the permeate obtains the beverage or beverage component. Homogenizing the fermented broth is performed to obtain the beverage or beverage component.
Novel Lactobacillus Having Various Functions, and Use Thereof
The present invention provides novel Lactobacillus sp. strains, novel Bifidobacterium sp. strains, or lactic acid bacteria mixtures thereof, which are isolated from kimchi or human feces. A certain Lactobacillus sp. strain or certain Bifidobacterium sp. strain according to the present invention is isolated from kimchi or human feces, and thus is highly safe, and has various physiological activities such as antioxidant activity, β-glucuronidase inhibitory activity, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) production inhibitory activity or tight junction protein expression-inducing activity. Accordingly, a certain Lactobacillus sp. strain, certain Bifidobacterium sp. strain or mixture thereof according to the present invention may be used as a functional food or medicinal material useful for the prevention, alleviation or treatment of intestinal damage, liver injury, allergic disease, inflammatory disease, or obesity.
LACTOBACILLUS PLANTARUM WITH COLORECTAL CANCER INHIBITION FUNCTION AND USE THEREOF
The present invention relates to the technical field of microbes, in particular to a Lactobacillus plantarum which can significantly inhibit the occurrence of colorectal cancer, and its use thereof. The Lactobacillus plantarum strain CCFM164 has a deposit number CGMCC No. 14520, which has a good tolerance to gastric acid and bile salts, significantly alleviate the level of colorectal inflammation in colorectal cancer model mice, and can reduce the number of tumors in the colon and rectum of the model mice by regulating the Notch1, Notch2 signaling pathway and the expression of VEGFR2 molecule in colorectal tissue. In addition, the Lactobacillus plantarum CCFM164 can also improve the intestinal flora population and short-chain fatty acid levels in the intestine. The Lactobacillus plantarum CCFM164 is used to prepare a fermented food for the inhibition of the occurrence of colorectal cancer with wild applications.
Lactobacillus and bacillus based direct fed microbial treatment for poultry and method of use
This disclosure relates generally to a microbial treatment for poultry. More particularly, the disclosure relates to a direct fed microbial composition including one or more lactic acid bacteria strains in combination with one or more Bacillus bacteria strains configured to inhibit gastrointestinal pathogens in a bird. A method of use is also disclosed herein.
