OPEN-DESIGN HORSE BOOT
20240090488 · 2024-03-21 ·

A horse boot removably securable to a horse hoof, the horse boot including a sole having opposite first and second engagement surfaces. Said fist engagement surface being configured to face the horse hoof when the horse boot is in an installed position, and the second engagement surface being configured to face and contact a ground surface. A plate is embedded within the sole between the first and second engagement surfaces. The sole is horseshoe shaped and has an open-central area configured to permit a bottom of the horse hoof to remain open to airflow.

Laminitis wedge
10463035 · 2019-11-05 ·

A hoof soling element to be attached under the hoof of an animal, in particular a horse, wherein said hoof soling element (1) is of uniformly increasing height which enables an area of the soling element (1) that is of lesser height to be attached under the front portion of the hoof and an area of greater height under the rear portion of the hoof, wherein said hoof soling element (1) is composed of a material having a Shore-A hardness ranging between 60 and 90. Said hoof soling is particularly suited for the treatment of laminitis and enables the load acting on the foot to be shifted to the healthy rear hoof portion, wherein as a result of the hardness of the material a sufficient amount of elasticity on the one hand and resistance on the other is achieved.

Equine Biomechanical Orthotic Device and Method of Use
20240164346 · 2024-05-23 ·

A device for addressing normal cyclic limb/hoof loading that causes devastating consequences in a horse at risk for SLL or suffering from acute laminitis. Weight force/ground reaction force interaction is cyclically loaded and offloaded to enhance perfusion of the supporting lamellar apparatus, solar corium, and other hoof structures with nutrient laden blood and removal of the lymph fluid with toxic waste products. The device causes a forced cyclic hoof motion of the loaded or unloaded patient in a lateral recumbency pained hoof. The motion is applied to hydraulically force or enhance the tissue perfusion of the hoof's internal structures and enhance or reestablish normal health of the hoof. Various externally applied forces are utilized, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other manners, to increase the reduced or non-existent cyclic loading of the limb. The device can be used to measure/record movement and adjust cyclic frequencies and range of motion.

Reduced weight equine orthotic pad and method
10375946 · 2019-08-13 ·

An improved shock absorbing, light-weight, thermally insulative orthotic pad designed for use in a pad and boot assembly for hoofed livestock. The pad is comprised of a mixture of small particles incorporated and encased in elastomeric materials. The particles have a lower density than the elastomeric materials and possess better thermally insulative properties. The pad is preferably elliptically shaped when viewed from the top or bottom, may be wedge-shaped when viewed from the side, and may include a triangular projection designed to contact a horse's frog and/or a front projection designed to cushion an animal's toe. The pad may also have side clips and toe bumper.

Equine Shoe
20190166818 · 2019-06-06 ·

A solid structure, multi-stratum, hoof shaped structure to cover substantially the entire underside of a hoof. The shoe has a convex bottom to allow center loading of the hoof during a broader range of movement than with typical equine shoes. Various configurations provide filler material between the shoe and the hoof, which may be applied before the shoe is attached, or the shoe may have at least one relatively small port to allow insertion of filler material after the shoe is attached.
