RAPIDLY COOLING FOOD AND DRINKS

Systems and methods have demonstrated the capability of rapidly cooling the contents of pods containing the ingredients for food and drinks.

Beverage cup and closure therefor

A beverage cup (20) and closure (30) assembly (10) is provided. The closure (30) includes a lid (100), an upper member (200), and a lower member (300). The lid (100) includes an aperture (130) and a drinking opening (122). The upper member (200) is located on the outside of the lid (100) and is rotatable between a first position, in which the upper member (200) covers the drinking opening (122), and a second position, in which the drinking opening (122) is unobstructed by the upper member (200). The lower member (300) is located on the inside of the lid (100) and is coupled to the upper member (200) via the aperture (130) and is rotatable by the upper member (200) between a first position, in which lower member (300) closes the drinking opening (122) and a second position in which the drinking opening (122) is unobstructed by lower member (300).

WATER BOTTLE

A portable, personal apparatus for transporting liquid having a bottle configured to contain liquid. The bottle has a longitudinal axis. A first opening open in a direction generally parallel with the longitudinal axis in a pour position. A first cover coupled to the bottle and configured to close the first opening in a closed position. A second opening open in a direction generally orthogonal with the longitudinal axis in a fill position. A second cover coupled to the bottle and configured to close the second opening in a storage position. The second cover remaining coupled to the bottle when the second cover is in the fill position.

CONTAINER LID

Apparatus and methods are disclosed for container lids, suitable for use in reliable automated handling and transport of lamella carriers used for transmission electron microscopy samples, or similar light or thin objects. A lid is for use with a container having one or more cavities that can be accessible through a top surface of a container. The lid can comprise a rigid member having a planar surface. Affixed to the rigid member are a first means for constraining motion of the planar surface to one-degree of freedom movement over the top surface, and a second means for restricting motion, within the cavity, of a lamella carrier contained within the cavity.

A container closure includes a base member, a cover member and a gasket. The base member is configured for attachment to an associated liquid container and includes abase wall having drinking and venting openings. The cover member is removably connected to the base member and includes a cover wall having drinking and venting apertures in selective registry with the respective drinking and venting openings. The gasket is interposed between the base member and the cover member and has an upper surface facing the cover member. The upper surface integrally defines a first seal member surrounding the drinking aperture and a second seal member surrounding the venting aperture. Each of the first seal member and the second seal member is substantially frustoconical shaped and is adapted to flex outwardly into engagement with the cover member in response to an increase in pressure within the associated container.
