A beverage can with an ingredient chamber for storing functional ingredients separately from a base beverage until the beverage can is opened by a consumer. The ingredient chamber may be disposed on a can end of the beverage can. The ingredient chamber may be broken open to release functional ingredients automatically when the beverage can is opened by the consumer. In some embodiments, the ingredient chamber includes a membrane that forms a sealed cavity. In some embodiments, the ingredient chamber includes a deformed cavity of the can end.

A closure (10) for mounting at an opening (O) of a container spout (S) comprises a compartment (32) in which material such as a tablet (T) can be positioned. The compartment comprises a wall (26) that comprises a first region (28) that is surrounded by a second bellows-like region (30) that enables the first region to be displaced from a first position to a second position to cause the material to be released from the compartment. The wall can comprise a protrusion (X) that extends into the compartment such that, when the wall is displaced to the second position, the protrusion can cause the material to be released from the compartment. Also, when the wall is displaced to the second position the first region can act directly on the material to force it out of the compartment.

A bottle cap is disclosed, which includes a top portion, comprising a hingeable lid, a middle portion, comprising a reservoir for retaining a material, and a bottom portion, which is surrounded by a threading that further comprises a means for attaching to a bottle. The top portion of the bottle cap further comprises a depressible button for exerting pressure in said reservoir, wherein said reservoir further contains a means for releasing said material into said bottle upon the exertion of pressure from said depressible button.

A beverage mixing system includes a beverage container and a method for mixing a beverage. According to aspects, the technology includes a container body and a container top configured to sit above the container body. The container top includes an opening, a sealed fluid reservoir disposed below the opening, a lid disposed over the opening, having a first configuration in the closed position covering the opening, and a second configuration in the open position leaving the opening uncovered, and a pull tab attached to the sealed fluid reservoir member configured to extend above the opening when the lid is in the second configuration. The pull tab releases a fluid from the fluid reservoir into the container body.
