Pawl-Latching Devices
20230348159 · 2023-11-02 ·

Techniques and apparatuses directed to improved pawl-latching devices are described in this document. The disclosed techniques and apparatuses provide pawl-latching devices with pawls structured to avoid the sinking and warping problems present in some conventional injection molding processes. In aspects, the pawl-latching devices include a pawl having at least one of a pivot member including a notch, a release feature on the pawl spaced apart from the front and sides of the pawl, a recess defined in the top of the pawl, and/or a recess defined in the bottom of the pawl.

Fastening system
11434055 · 2022-09-06 · ·

A fastening system having a cable tie which has i) a toothed cable tie strip and ii) a cable tie head with a detent device for detent engagement with the toothed cable tie strip. The fastening system further includes a holding apparatus which is separate from the cable tie. The cable tie, in the fully assembled state, is positioned relative to the holding apparatus such that the material for binding held by the cable tie is arranged spaced apart from the holding apparatus in order to reduce abrasion of the material for binding. A cable tie, a holding apparatus for a fastening system of the type, and a corresponding assembly method are also presented.

Elastomer lined self-locking tie
11286093 · 2022-03-29 · ·

An elastomer lined self-locking tie includes an elongated strap, at least one cavity or recess in the elongated strap, an elastomer segment, and a locking head. The elongated strap includes a head end positioned opposite a tapered end. The tapered end includes a first surface positioned opposite a second surface. The cavity is positioned in either the first surface or the second surface. The elastomer segment is positioned within the cavity and extends beyond either the first surface or the second surface. The locking head extends from the head end of the elongated strap and includes an orifice shaped to receive the tapered end of the elongated strap and the elastomer segment.

BINDING TOOL

A binding tool includes: a flexible strip-shaped belt; a head connected to a base end of the belt and including a through hole through which the belt wound around an object is inserted; a plurality of ratchet teeth protruding from a front surface of the belt at positions spaced apart in an extension direction; and a plurality of ratchet claws locking the plurality of ratchet teeth inserted through the through hole, wherein the head has, on one side in a width direction, a slit through which the belt can be inserted or removed, and the plurality of ratchet teeth and ratchet claws are inclined such that each of one end portions thereof on the one side in the width direction is on a downstream side of the extension direction as compared with each of the other end portions thereof on the other side in the width direction.

MEMORY FASTENING DEVICE
20220112014 · 2022-04-14 ·

A memory fastening device includes a fastener head that is positioned along the first end of an elongated body having a tapered second end, and a plurality of serrations. The head includes an opening having a shape that is complementary to the shape of the main body. A ratchet mechanism is positioned within the head and functions to engage the serrations to form a closed loop. The main body includes a layered construction having a core layer and an outer layer. The core layer is constructed from a piece of malleable metal having shape memory for maintaining a shape to which the device is manipulated, and the outer layer is constructed from an electrically non-conductive material that encapsulates the metallic memory core.

Flexible one-time use restraints

A disposable, flexible locking restraint having a base and first and second straps integrally molded of a dry flexible plastic is provided. During use, toothed portion of the straps engage toothed portions of associated pawls to provide for unidirectional travel of the straps through the base. For increased security, pawl locks are provided on the base. Each pawl lock has first and second retainers to engage the pawl lock on the base, where the first retainer is spaced from the second retainer along a length of the pawl lock. When the first retainer retains the pawl locks in the base, the pawls have sufficient freedom of movement to allow unidirectional movement of the straps through the base, and when the pawl locks are depressed such that the second retainer retains each pawl lock in its respective lock aperture, the pawl lock engages the pawl and presses the pawl against the strap, preventing further travel of the strap.

Sustainable packaging system and packaging sealing device
11235917 · 2022-02-01 · ·

A packaging system and device that includes a container generally defining a rectangular prism configuration, the container including a receptacle including five walls and an opening and a lid that includes a first wall that is configured to cover the opening and four remaining walls that fit around four of the five walls of the receptacle, wherein the container defines a lengthwise direction and widthwise direction, a band that is secured the lengthwise direction of the container and a cable tie fastener that is configured to be secured about the widthwise direction of the container.

Saddle that adjusts to a bundle diameter

This document describes a saddle that adjusts to a bundle diameter. In some aspects, the saddle is a component of a cable-tie mounting assembly and forms a curved or planar mounting surface, which is flexible to support a bundle. The saddle includes an aperture for receiving a cable tie. The saddle also includes two laterally-extending distal flexible tabs that are flexible to conform to a bundle diameter based on a force applied by the cable tie disposed within the aperture and tensioned around the bundle to secure the bundle to the mounting surface of the saddle. The flexibility of the saddle surface to adjust into mating contact with the bundle (i) significantly reduces gaps created between the bundle, the cable tie, and the distal flexible tabs and (ii) provides side support, preventing rotation and lateral movement of the secured bundle and reducing the likelihood of damage to the bundle.

Cable tie

A cable tie including a belt, a base, a restricting part, and a controlling part is provided. The belt has a contacting side. The base is connected to a first end of the belt and has a through-hole. The restricting part is connected to the base and is located in the through-hole. The controlling part has a connecting portion, and a protruding portion and a pressing portion away from the connecting portion, and the connecting portion is connected to the base. When the belt passes through the through-hole, the contacting side defines a tying area for accommodating a tied object, and the protruding portion protrudes into the tying area. When the tied object pushes the protruding portion towards outside the tying area, the pressing portion presses the restricting part to restrict a movement of the belt.

Adjustable cable tie head

A cable tie includes a cable tie head; and a strap. The head is configured to receive the strap. A least part of the head comprises a deformable zone configured to deform when the strap is received in the cable tie head to secure the cable tie to an elongate article.
