A pallet includes base members, connecting bars, and a loading plate. The connecting bars secure the base members to form a pallet frame. The loading plate is fixed on the pallet frame. The size of the pallet can be adjusted in length and width so as to be adjusted freely and conveniently according to practical requirements. Consequently, the cost for manufacturing the pallet can be reduced. In addition, when one base member is damaged or missing, the damaged or missing base member can be replaced by a new base member. Therefore, the pallet can be used for more times, allowing the cost reduction in manufactory. Furthermore, the base members and the connecting bars are connected with each other to form the pallet frame which is rigid and has high structural strength, such that the pallet frame would not deform and is safe when used for handling and transporting materials.

The top includes a hand access hole extending through the top and located at a center of gravity of the pallet. Four feet each extend away from the underside of the top. In one embodiment, a maintainable pallet is provided with interchangeable support structures and sensors for identifying any damage that the interchangeable support structures may experience. The maintainable pallet may include two side supports, two end supports coupled to the two side supports end-to-end to form a rectangle, a central support position between the two side supports, a plurality of top transverse support fastened onto the two side supports to form a top loading surface and the central support with two-part releasable fasteners, and two bottom transverse supports fastened to the ends of the two side supports to form a bottom surface with two-part releasable fasteners. Sensors, in some embodiments, may be embedded in the two side supports to measure, for example, acceleration, location, or other logistic information. When a damaged piece is identified, the maintainable pallet can be disassembled by unfastening the two-part releasable fasteners to remove the damaged piece; and a new interchangeable piece will replace the damaged piece.

Assembled and combined pallet constitutes of supporting beams and skids wherein: the supporting beams are made of the hollow metal section bar and the supporting beams are equipped with the grooves along its length direction on the top; the skids are set with inserting blocks at the bottom in relation to the grooves on the top of the supporting beams and inserting blocks are inserted into the grooves along the length direction of the grooves; the supporting beam is set with a locating lever in relation to the inserting block of each skid, and the inserting block of each skid is set with a locking hole in relation to the locating lever and the locating level passes through the corresponding locking hole of the inserting block to lock the skid. The skid connection and supporting beam is reliable and the disassembly and assembly during the use is convenient and fast.

A modular pallet system utilizes a plurality of modular pallets that are configured to engage along sides of the pallet to form an interconnected array of coupled pallets that may be moved by a pallet truck and wherein the individual pallets are configured for detachment and transport with a hand-truck. A quad array of coupled pallets may be formed that is about a conventional pallet size and configured to receive the two forks of a fork truck into fork truck openings. One of the modular pallets of the quad array of coupled pallets may be disengaged or disconnected by use of a hand-truck, wherein the tongue of the hand-truck extends in the fork truck opening between the feet of a pallet and engages with hand-truck notches configured on feet. An interconnecting feature of a modular pallet may include a dovetail and dovetail recess.
