FLEXIBLE AUTOMATED SORTING AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENT (FAST) ROBOTIC ARM
A disclosed system for transporting items to destination locations, for example automatically placing stacked products at selected locations within a large retail facility, includes a conveyor assembly, an item identifier, a robotic arm with a plurality of end effectors, and a sorter component operable to select one of the plurality of end effectors and remove items selected for diversion from the conveyor assembly with the robotic arm. The sorter component stacks the removed items, and the stacked items are transported to a selected location within the retail facility, for example using an autonomous ground vehicle (AGV).
Physical distribution system, physical distribution method and program
A physical distribution system includes first and second conveyance paths, first and second sensors, and a processor. The first sensor detects a package passing along the first conveyance path. The second conveyance path merges with the first conveyance path at a junction. The second sensor detects a package passing along the second conveyance path. The processor counts a first number of packages present in a first convergence monitoring section determined in the first conveyance path upstream the junction, and counts a second number of packages present in a second convergence monitoring section determined in the second conveyance path upstream the junction, determines an order in which packages in the first and second convergence monitoring sections pass the junction, based on the first number and the second number, and control the first and second conveyance paths, such that the packages pass the junction in the determined order.
Sorting system that transfers payloads from a conveyor system onto mobile drive units without the conveyor system knowing destinations of the mobile drive units
In one embodiment, a sortation system at a facility has a conveyor system and a mobile drive unit system. The conveyor system has a conveyor surface that transfers payloads to the mobile drive units, and a controller that communicates a payload identifier for each payload to the mobile drive unit system. The payload identifiers are masked such that information about the local destinations are unknown to the conveyor system. The mobile drive unit system determines the local destinations from the payload identifiers by unmasking the payload identifiers, and delivers the payloads to determined local destinations at the facility.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROCESSING OBJECTS PROVIDED IN VEHICLES
An object processing system is disclosed for unloading objects from a trailer of a tractor trailer. The object processing system includes an engagement system including a truck entry portion for entering the trailer and for indiscriminately engaging unidentified objects within the trailer, and a conveyance system for conveying objects engaged by the engagement system toward an unloading portion of the trailer.

The object processing system includes an engagement system including a truck entry portion for entering the trailer and for indiscriminately engaging unidentified objects within the trailer, and a conveyance system for conveying objects engaged by the engagement system toward an unloading portion of the trailer.
Paper sheet processing system and paper sheet processing method
According to one embodiment, a paper sheet processing system includes a paper sheet processing apparatus which includes an inspection device, a reject device, and a first communication module, and a robot device which includes a robot arm and a second communication module. The reject device rejects a rejected paper sheet and a batch card to a rejecting port. When the batch card is detected, the first communication module transmits a predetermined signal to the robot device. Upon receiving the predetermined signal, the robot device takes the rejected paper sheet and the batch card out of the rejecting port by the robot arm, moves them to another storage section, and transmits a move completion signal to the paper sheet processing apparatus.
System and Method for Automatic Disposition of Articles
The present disclosure concerns a system and a related method for the automatic disposition of articles. The system can combine information on the identity of an arbitrary article, price data, cost data and disposition rules to determine the disposition of the article and effect a physical change in a switch that represents the disposition determination. The switch can be associated with a diverter swing arm. The system can, moreover, determine the identity of the article and label the article in real time, having determined the disposition of the article between article identification and article labeling. The disposition determination can provide a rationale for sortation.

Parcel handling and tracking system and a method of scanning identifying features on parcels
A parcel handling and tracking system allows an all-around scanning of identifying features thanks to a scanning window, where the parcels are configured to sit at the scanning window on a resting surface of the parcel itself. The scanning window is light permeable to allow reading of the identifying features at the resting surface, possibly together with other identifying features at surfaces of the parcel other than the resting surface.
AUTOMATED BATTERY SORTING SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods for analyzing and sorting batteries according to battery classifications. In particular, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems scan a target battery with a plurality of sensors and analyze signals of the plurality of sensors utilizing a classifier model to determine a battery classification for the target battery. Also, in some embodiments, the disclosed systems indicate the predicted battery classification to a battery sorting mechanism for sorting the target battery. Additional mechanisms and related methods for automated classification and sorting of batteries are disclosed.
